i JUST FINISHED MAKING ABOUT 300 PEPPER NODDERS! They are Danish Cinnamon Butter cookies and I made them with my BRAND NEW COOKIE PRESS!

I have an ancient one....Mirro is the brand, it's made of all stainless steel, and you have to crank the knob on the top to press out the dough.

WELL THE NEW ONE IS BY WILTON, It's plastic, it works on the same basic principal, with dough that you press out through decorative plates to make different shaped cookies. BUT THE NEW ONE HAS A SQUEEZE HANDLE! you just squeeze out the dough! So fast! So easy!

And I broke down and bought a beautiful new Calfalon cookie sheet. And I threw away 2 of my old ones, everything stuck to them anyway.

Whoo hoo! party::dancer::dancer::dancer:
I bought my own Christmas for myself early!

I also put together Great Grandma Sylvia's Sour Cream Sugar Cookie Recipe. It's in the fridge overnight. They are to roll out and frost. It's a tradition for Mike and I to decorate the cookies, but I think I'll have to do it myself this year, since he won't be here until Sunday Night and we'll be at Ft. Wilderness.

Also put together M&M cookie recipe, it's in the fridge to bake tomorrow.

I gotta start packing for our little trip, too.

:sad2: How well I understand.

that is why I wondered if you talked about little oriental people making these things if it might be something she can remember.

Sad :sad1:
.

I wish that it was that easy. With her she doesn't remember anything, unfortunately that is a result of many years of drinking too much :sad2: I've pretty much given up. I just hope that this year we don't hear from her like we did last year. (drunk from the hospital) part of the reason I really wanted to leave this year was the crappy last 2 years with her. The year after my dad died we shared the holiday with MIL and FIL and she kept making comments that were like knives in my heart. Lots of comments about how much fun it was for her to see the kids snow skiing just like her boys did when they were little, and all I could think about was how my dad would never see my kids water skiing, just like we did when we were little. Just typing this makes me cry for missing my dad again. Holidays are so hard when they are spent missing loved ones.

I'm sad for V, Deb and Michelle. It's so hard during the holidays

Hi

Nan : have a lovely holiday, I envy you

Scottishwee35

now now, just remember your lovely holiday in Spain, look at those pictures and you will instead have happy memories instead of envy.

I hope our travels are safe, I tried to avoid snow spots for all my families flights, but it snowed in Las Vegas and one person flies thru there :scared1:

Time to get started on dinner, pork chops, green beans and crossiants. YUM :goodvibes

Hi everyone :grouphug:
I can't even remember when I was last on this thread :guilty: It's been super busy here. At work, renovations are almost done and we have now flipped banners, meaning I am officially broke from now on! Good thing I've been working a ton of hours lately I guess, it will help pay for Christmas!

We had a snowstorm today, I had to be at work at 6:00 AM and it was good weather then, but it started to snow shortly after, and snowed...and snowed...and snowed! It was very blustery for quite a while, but by the time I was driving home it had stopped. The roads were awful though, no plows out on most of them yet. I barely made it into my driveway, the snow was so high! I shoveled for almost two hours, and I know after the plows go by tonight I'll be digging out again in the morning. I am going to be so sore! If I could get the rest of my family to move, I'd be heading south, to WDW of course;) I read today that it snowed in Las Vegas :scared1: What's with that?

I'm very excited as my son is arriving home on Sunday for two weeks :cool1: We are hearing there may be another storm that day though, I sure hope not! Our airport shut right down today and Toronto cancelled tons of flights.

Is everyone ready for Christmas? I have gifts but I need to do a lot of wrapping and baking.

Hope everyone is doing well. Merry Christmas to all

:grouphug: Nan, have a wonderful holiday with your family. I'm sorry you are missing your dad. It is especially hard this time of year, isn't it? I lost my husband a month after Christmas, and he was so, so sick that last Christmas, I know how you feel . Sending hugs to all those in need right now. V and Deb , it must be hard missing your mom's too. Michelle, please forgive me for asking, did something happen to your dad ? :grouphug:

HI KATHE!

I'm avoiding cleaning up the kitchen and wrapping presents......

Hi Jackie! I don't have enough time left to avoid things! Well, except I should be wrapping right now, but I am so sore and exhausted from shovelling that it will have to wait until morning, I did do the dishes though! How are you celebrating Christmas this year?

Kathe

Hi Holly  How are you and Tyler? Is Tyler pretty excited that Christmas is so close?!

Kathe
Oh, he's excited for sure. He's convinced Santa will bring him lots of camouflage stuff! ;) And yes, that's what's going to happen. He did have his heart set on a computer until I convinced him that Santa doesn't usually bring things that cost that much money. I'm going to see if my mom would be willing to part with her old computer that I bought for her 2 Christmases ago. She only used it for email and ebay shopping, and only used it about once a week, so it would be just like new for Tyler. She bought herself a laptop a year ago the day after Thanksgiving, taking advantage of a major sale, so now the one I bought her sits unused.

Oh, and by the way, Connie, who's going to eat your 300 cookies?! ;)

We are indeed looking forward to meeting our little princess princess:

The places that get a lot of snow know how to handle it--when to plow, salt, sand, use of snow tires and how to dress warmly so life goes on. The places not used to it go into a panic because it does not happen often enough for people to remember how to behave.

Jan :santa:

Hi Jan, congratulations on your new little granddaugter :lovestruc I just went on the Tortola thread for a minute and saw her pic, she's a sweetie! When do you get to meet her?

After the Christmas rush I should have time to get caught up again. I miss everyone!

Just a comment on "places that get a lot of snow know how to handle it" -- well our city certainly knows how to handle it, but doing it is another story  With the all the cutbacks constantly going on, we do not always get the plows out, salt, sand etc when we need them. But I do have my snowtires :thumbsup2

We're very low-key this year. Just Peg, Jose and I. We'll do a special breakfast at Peg's and open gifts. Then a movie during the day, a nap and a light dinner. We did the big meal at Thanksgiving and no one wants to cook for Christmas. Somehow, making a deluxe breakfast doesn't feel as difficult as the blow out dinner.

That would work out great if she is willing to part with it, Holly :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to having Serenity here on Christmas Day for a while, at 15 months she'll be easy to please! On her birthday, she would rip the wrapping paper, then try to put it back on the box :lmao: She didn't care what was IN the box! I remember when my daughter was the same age at Xmas, she was so excited to get the banana in her stocking, that we couldn't get her to open anything else! She kept running around the house saying "nana" for banana. I wish life was so easy for the rest of us ;)

I just realized that it will be my TENTH visit to WDW next September. :cool1: :woohoo: :thumbsup2 It truely will be a 'decade of disney'. And there were two trips that were cancelled....one due to a hurricane (Jeanne I think) and one due to my surgery back in '05.

(Visits to DTD pre cruise did not count in this total...only actual park admittance.)

How blessed I am to be planning my tenth WDW visit and fifth DCL cruise for next year. :cloud9:

Peaceful, relaxing AND PRESENTS! What more could you want (other than having it all happen on a DCL ship)?

Time to go veg in front of the TV for a bit, then call it an early night. Got to rest up for all the gabbering Cheri & I will be doing tomorrow. Well, she has to do all the talking, but I'll be an active listener! :listen:
