Well, I made it safely home, but kept getting stuck on my street. The snow is so deep in the road, my front bumper was pushing it. I kept having to back up a bit to get a head start, then plow through a few more feet of snow, and repeat over and over until I made it into my driveway. Had to do the same throughout the turn into my driveway but more frequently and would only get about a foot further each time. :headache: So now I'm off to shovel. I do have to say, I really do love shoveling, so I don't mind a bit. :thumbsup2

Hi

Went out to Panto to watch Aladdin with 3d glasses...

It was great fun and kids loved it...

I am glad to have night off and off on 2nd January which I was shocking to look at overtime sheet that I should be working from 12 to 8 pm on 2nd Jan.

I was very upset and went home then went to work yesterday and told my boss that I was stress. My boss and I had talking then she offer me night off tonight and had been sort out for 2 Jan.

I know that not allow to book any holiday in Dec and first week January. I have not told my work that we are away to Dublin for 3 nights. I just saying that no babysitting as club shut for two weeks..(that is true)

Phew... i got sort it out...

One of my friend she work with me, she almost got sacked for giving out her discount card to her friend which video camera got her... She went to big meeting last Thursday (I was upset for her). Lucky turn out her job is safe and they took away her discount card for one year:scared1:

It is Xmas as everyone should be happy:yay:

I look forward tomorrow now as few days ago I was so miserable. Glad I spoked out with my boss.

Good job getting things sorted out with your boss.

I'm glad your friend didn't lose her job! :scared1:

Scottshwee35

Well that IS one way to get my mind off the interview :lmao: Thanks

Hello. I'm still busy and tired and now a little bummed. It seems like I may have applied for the wrong position. Two of the people I work with, that applied for a different job than me, already got the news that they were hired. I didn't apply for this one because it closed before I took my class. They had their interview the same day I did so I could have taken the job since I got the results of my class before the interview. I got a 93% in math and a 96% in English. This job was better than the jobs I was applying for. The secretary of the school did tell me that they weren't going to call anyone for my position until after the holiday because they are off for two weeks like the kids. Anyway, I'm just a little sad. No big deal either way. I just keep going over the interview in my head and it is annoying.

Sorry things don't look positive Gaylean. you never know what will happen. Try to forget about it for now and enjoy Christmas.

Hi

Marilyn : good to read high and low what about exhange money? is that affect it?

The exchange rate did make some difference, but it has been this rate before, even worse. We did cut out a few things we thought we might do, and cut down on Disney restaurants too.

Something occurred to me when I was downtown earlier today.

There are signs posted outside every office tower "beware of falling ice."

It often happens that ice builds up in chunks and then with the sun, drops off of buildings and hits people. Frequently they are really big chunks and icicles that fall and kill people.

What exactly is the use of the sign? What exactly would one do to take precaution?

:scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

A great big HUG to you from both of us if that makes you feel better. What a bummer.

It does make me feel better. I think I am more upset because other people actually got a job and I feel like I'm going to look bad if I don't get the other one. It doesn't really matter if I get it or not but I will be embarressed if I don't. Does that make sence? Plus I think they know something down there and they just aren't telling me. Someone came up to one of the girls that got the job I didn't apply for and said congratulations before she had even got the call saying she gotten the job.

Deborah, I got your card today too, thank you! :goodvibes

And thank you to everybody else who have been sending cards. I haven't thanked everybody individually, but this thank you includes everybody! :grouphug: It's such fun to have so many hanging up!

Be patient guys.....I just sent mine yesterday. Except Bubba and V's. I still have to send theirs :rolleyes1

I'm trying. I think it will be better in a couple of days. It was just hard to see those other girls all happy and have everyone ask me if I got a call yet.
That definitely would be upsetting.

Either carry the sign over your head like a shield or walk in the street.

Well, I'm done shoveling, now off to wrap more of Tyler's presents that were delivered at my work today. I have 2 more deliveries coming, so they'll probably come Monday or Tuesday. One is a stuffed reindeer. Strange, I know, but he was sad that Santa didn't bring him a stuffed reindeer last year and is really hoping for one again this year. I couldn't find one in any store, so I had to order one. Good grief! Oh, and the other package coming is his firefighter outfit. It's the same as one he already has, but just a bigger size because he's outgrown his. This will be his THIRD one. Crazy kid!

Maybe you and V would both feel better if you got together over the holidays. :confused3

Another day of work is almost over, and I decided to check in and get caught up.

:grouphug: for everybody that needs it

Ian - I know the Suzy Snowflake song (had it on a record when I was a kid) Never seen it anywhere else though

Good luck to everybody dealing with crazy snowstorms. We're still in the deep freeze up here. Expecting lows of -30C until Christmas eve I think thats about -20F.

The girls both had Christmas concerts yesterday. It was cute to watch them singing Christmas songs in their groups.

Time to pack up and head home for the weekend. I'm lucky today. Ken's cousin has arrived for Christmas. She's 22 and she wants to be busy, so she's cooking supper :thumbsup2 On Monday her mom & dad arrive, so there will be a full house for a few days. I still have to work, but I'm sure I won't have to cook or do dishes. :thumbsup2

We were talking about the signs yesterday at the office. That's the most sensible suggestion I've heard!

They also had a Bozo the clown who played a game called Bozo's buckets.....
:scared: very weird :scared1: Early 50s TV in Chicago :rolleyes1 be scared  be very scared :scared1: Then, of course, there is the normal upbringing the rest of us had who did not live in the Chicago metro area...... :snooty: ust joking :thumbsup2

Jan

OH, Yesh, everyone knew about the BOZO SHOW!!!! ANd getting picked to play the bucket game was the BEST! My parents never even sent in for tickets.....after all, it was a 2 12 hour drive to the studio. But we watched it faithfully.

When I was little, we only had 3 channels....and the one from the Quad Cities had the best kid's show....Uncle Ernie's Showboat. It was on every day when we got home from school. Actullly we only had 2 channels at first, then ABC got Moline, Illinois, so we had 3 .

That is really cold. I can only imagine what that must be like with the wind-chill!

I'm sure you must be keeping faucets dripping to prevent pipes from freezing.

By the way, I heard about this 'museum" in Cleveland on Public Radio when we were driving around this afternoon.

Someplace I'd like to visit. They get 70,000 visitors a year. They interviewed people that drove all the way from Falls River Virginia to buy gifts.

WOW! 93% IN MATH AND 96% IN ENGLISH! YOU WON'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE IN ANY INTERVIEW!
