Peaceful, relaxing AND PRESENTS! What more could you want (other than having it all happen on a DCL ship)?

Time to go veg in front of the TV for a bit, then call it an early night. Got to rest up for all the gabbering Cheri & I will be doing tomorrow. Well, she has to do all the talking, but I'll be an active listener! :listen:

Good night Jackie! I'm off to bed very shortly. So Cheri is back from her cruise already!!! Say hi to her for me please! It will be no time at all until we meet up on our Sept cruise, if time keeps flying by like this! And of course, I have my May WDW trip to look forward to first :cool1: I booked my airfare for May and for Sept too for both my daughter and I last week. Air Canada has a great sale on, I get to fly from my home city for the same price (taking into consideration exchange rates on our dollar and the shuttle I usually use when flying from Detroit) and have great times :thumbsup2 I'm flying one way to WDW in May from Detroit, though, since I had a credit for a free flight!

We're back at the hotel. Tristan graduated Marine boot camp today. He did great and he looks awesome and he's really all grown up now. I'm so happy for him that he has found something that he loves. He loves being a Marine. When we did our cheers at dinner tonight we said thank you to him. It was a ten hankie day from start to finish.

Back home in the mountains we got about 4 inches so far. Tom had no school today. I told him I needed the house really clean for Christmas. Guess I'll find out when I get there. Hope I CAN get there. Getting up our unplowed driveway will not work. We'll have to rely on the kid and Tom to get it clean enough to get up and down. They're on their own doing this for the first time. John's truck is there and the plow is there. So they should be able to do something. Guess we'll find out.

We're meeting for breakfast at 9am tomorrow and we'll all be taking off around 10am. That puts me and John home some time around midnight unless we stay overnight somewhere on the way. We'll see how John feels.

Grrr. Some girls are really mean. My mom called me and said my sister needed some good news. She was at her supposed BFF Christmas party tonight when her "friend" took her to the side and told her not to talk to anyone b/c she wasn't popular enough and noone liked her. THen she told her everyone else was spending the night but her and another girl b/c no one liked them and they weren't popular and she only invited her b/c her mom made her. I never liked this girl but now I really don't like her. My sister was crushed and left very sad. THese were some of her friends too (they didn't hear this). This "friend" also told another girl she wasn't dressed right and needed to change! My sister is going with her real BFF to an indoor waterpark and hotel this weekend and it just opened. I passed it today and told her how AMAZING it looked. Seriously it looked like something Disney would do. She is super excited. As for the other "Friend" she has decided they are no longer friends and my mom won't allow her over again.

Sorry that was long but why are kids so mean?!?!?!

Good Morning All Earth Creatures!

It wasn't snowing when I went to bed.

It was snowing when I woke up.

It is supposed to snow until about noon and we are expecting a total of 8 inches/20.4cm

On the upside, it is sort of warm, 27F.

I have done something I rarely do, I asked Sukie to shovel. I won't be home till late and the thought of trying to shovel trampled, packed down wet snow is just not inviting.

I suppose I'll have to keep silent. Sukie's idea of what a shoveled side walk is and mine are very different.

Be nice to Joan...it's not easy scraping snow with coat hangers...

I wish should woulg get it, she has been told Molly's sizes for years and never got it. Unfortunately the jacket was mail ordered and Grandma has no return receipts and she left for WY yesterday. Worst case we will donate it. MIL did give me a gift card to Macy's (Thank heavens she doesn't guess my size ) so Molly and I will buy her a new coat with that card :thumbsup2 I'm just sad that Grandma doesn't understand the self esteem issue of receiving a clothing gift that never fits. It's like she is telling Molly you're too big

That's why it's forbidden in my family to buy me clothes...

Next year tell her Molly would LOVE a gift card!!!

For those stuck in the misserable snow...be safe and warm and out of harm.

Thanks Nan...

Sorry about the hand vac--I am sure it seemed like a good idea at the time to use it to remove tinsel.

 :grouphug: :grouphug:
:grouphug: MICHELLE :grouphug:
 :grouphug: :grouphug:
if we were there, we would sit on the floor with you, hug you and cry too.
.

And you too Jan...

I grew up in upstate NY. When Bozo :clown: was big, I was in High School and the newscaster who played our Bozo was the father of a good friend of mine. Kids in school called her Bozo which I thought was stupid, unnecessary and mean.

We did not watch that show. It was for kids, so I have no idea how they did the show or if they had that game but I never heard of it until I got to Valparaiso. Then when I saw clips of their show the Bozo looked wrong too because he was not my friend's Dad. In Chicago they apparently called the game BOZO'S BUCKETS and it became a staple at Birthday parties and Fun Fairs.

When I tried to explain to people that TV was all local back when they were kids and that if another city had Bozo it was not the same guy in the suit they thought I was daft. :rolleyes1

What???? There really isn't another Bob McAllister??? (Wonderama to those NY'ers...)

I do what to send  to Michelle. I kind of understand what you are going through. My father passed 2 years ago this christmas. I was not close to him and had lost touch many years ago, but it was kind of hard to deal with. And then losing my Mom 8 months later. Anyway, please know that my heart goes out to you.

To all of you who are dealing with the white christmas (or white Federal Holiday:rotfl2: I laughed my a*s off Ian.) please stay safe. We have had rain, snow on our mountains and what to me is COLD. We havent turned on the heater this year, but did flip the switch on the fireplace, which made our old lady cat very happy. She's our heat sucker cat

We have also received some wonderful holiday cards recently. Thanks so much. It has helped get me into the holiday spirit. (which I am in short supply of this year)

Thanks for the hugs V... and as far as our White Federal Holiday... I'm asking that politically incorrect guy in red... :santa: for a St. Bernard with a cask of something good inside of it... :rotfl:

Hello. I'm still busy and tired and now a little bummed. It seems like I may have applied for the wrong position. Two of the people I work with, that applied for a different job than me, already got the news that they were hired. I didn't apply for this one because it closed before I took my class. They had their interview the same day I did so I could have taken the job since I got the results of my class before the interview. I got a 93% in math and a 96% in English. This job was better than the jobs I was applying for. The secretary of the school did tell me that they weren't going to call anyone for my position until after the holiday because they are off for two weeks like the kids. Anyway, I'm just a little sad. No big deal either way. I just keep going over the interview in my head and it is annoying.

Oh G... don't give up hope...jut go and enjoy the holiday and don't worry about it until after...

Hey Holly, the whole cruise dinner table is here tonight.....Jackie, Kathe, Lisa, Cheri tomorrow....only ones missing are Daniel and Tammy, Chris and Layla.

Hi All....you guys were my favorite table and it was fun passing you each night in and out of the restaurant.:cutie:

Hi Kathe!! Hope you are okay!!

Deb, you sound so proud of Tristan! What great pics of him on his special day :goodvibes I'm glad you and John were able to share this special day with him.

I just peeked out the window...wish I hadn't  The plow has been by, looks like I'll have to shovel about three feet of heavy snow at the end of my driveway before I can get out tomorrow :headache:

Night Kathe... :cloud9: :cloud9:

So Mrs. F didn't go ice skating? ;) Glad to hear she handled herself well. :thumbsup2

She did well on the ice skates... but as for handling herself well??? Well lets just say at the Federal Holiday party.... :rolleyes1

I can't say that her tires, didn't spin a bit, but at least she was not fish tailing all over the place. I was also driving very carefully.

You know, there's another storm coming through on Sunday? I suppose it will hit Lansing too?

& me... don't forget me!!!! (I get my weather reports from listening to you two...)

Something occurred to me when I was downtown earlier today.

There are signs posted outside every office tower "beware of falling ice."

It often happens that ice builds up in chunks and then with the sun, drops off of buildings and hits people. Frequently they are really big chunks and icicles that fall and kill people.

What exactly is the use of the sign? What exactly would one do to take precaution?

Walk down the middle of the street...

YES! It's supposed to hit here Sunday evening. If it's as bad as this was, I'm not going to work on Monday. They made me so mad today. Our office manager didn't even come in because of the road conditions, and most of the attorneys came very late and only stayed a couple hours and wanted to get home because of the road conditions. Hello? What about us secretaries? When one secretary asked on behalf of all of us if we could leave early too to get safely home before it got much worse, she was told "no, we can't have the office closed". :headache: So 2 of us have already decided we're not coming in on Monday if it's even half as bad as today was.

Tell them you know a couple of good lawyers and you're gonna sue if you get into an accident.

Well, I made it safely home, but kept getting stuck on my street. The snow is so deep in the road, my front bumper was pushing it. I kept having to back up a bit to get a head start, then plow through a few more feet of snow, and repeat over and over until I made it into my driveway. Had to do the same throughout the turn into my driveway but more frequently and would only get about a foot further each time. :headache: So now I'm off to shovel. I do have to say, I really do love shoveling, so I don't mind a bit. :thumbsup2

At least there are not yellow jackets or bees... (does it seem that long ago that Holly was chasing bees???)

I know you all think I am daft

I cannot live without music...

I bought new single disc of Alexandra Bruke - Hallelujah and double disc of Celina Dion of Love Album...

Love that song of My heart will go on....

Music make me relax..

I booked live Xfactor next year March to see live concert as 3 of my friends are coming with me. When I booked it and they offer me 4 disability seats to get good view for my friend who cannot hear as she love to see them:confused3

If I am driving I must put music on, when I iorning, I put music on... when I am on internet I put music on lol...

Scottishwee35

Now why does that seem so strange??? ;)

i JUST FINISHED MAKING ABOUT 300 PEPPER NODDERS! They are Danish Cinnamon Butter cookies and I made them with my BRAND NEW COOKIE PRESS!

I have an ancient one....Mirro is the brand, it's made of all stainless steel, and you have to crank the knob on the top to press out the dough.

WELL THE NEW ONE IS BY WILTON, It's plastic, it works on the same basic principal, with dough that you press out through decorative plates to make different shaped cookies. BUT THE NEW ONE HAS A SQUEEZE HANDLE! you just squeeze out the dough! So fast! So easy!

And I broke down and bought a beautiful new Calfalon cookie sheet. And I threw away 2 of my old ones, everything stuck to them anyway.

Whoo hoo! party::dancer::dancer:
I bought my own Christmas for myself early!

Connie... I have one that is battery operated... and if I put the batteries in wrong it runs backwards... :rotfl2:

I wish that it was that easy. With her she doesn't remember anything, unfortunately that is a result of many years of drinking too much :sad2: I've pretty much given up. I just hope that this year we don't hear from her like we did last year. (drunk from the hospital) part of the reason I really wanted to leave this year was the crappy last 2 years with her. The year after my dad died we shared the holiday with MIL and FIL and she kept making comments that were like knives in my heart. Lots of comments about how much fun it was for her to see the kids snow skiing just like her boys did when they were little, and all I could think about was how my dad would never see my kids water skiing, just like we did when we were little. Just typing this makes me cry for missing my dad again. Holidays are so hard when they are spent missing loved ones.

I'm sad for V, Deb and Michelle. It's so hard during the holidays

now now, just remember your lovely holiday in Spain, look at those pictures and you will instead have happy memories instead of envy.

I hope our travels are safe, I tried to avoid snow spots for all my families flights, but it snowed in Las Vegas and one person flies thru there :scared1:

Time to get started on dinner, pork chops, green beans and crossiants. YUM :goodvibes

Nan... for all the  you've given me there are many more in return...

Congratulations Marine.

Lookin Good!!! I LOVE how his brother stands away from the family!!!

We're back at the hotel. Tristan graduated Marine boot camp today. He did great and he looks awesome and he's really all grown up now. I'm so happy for him that he has found something that he loves. Glad you're enjoying your visit, great pictures too! :goodvibes

Be careful driving home. More storms are lurking. We have well over a foot of snow here and another storm comes tomorrow and another Sunday, and they think each of those will be just as bad as the one today. I hope not because I was planning on taking Tyler to Kalamazoo to visit with my stepbrother from Tennessee. He'll be getting to my dad's tomorrow and will leave Christmas Eve, so Sunday is Tyler's only chance to see him because of work and appointments Mon, Tues, and Wed. :guilty:

I passed it today and told her how AMAZING it looked. Seriously it looked like something Disney would do. She is super excited. As for the other "Friend" she has decided they are no longer friends and my mom won't allow her over again.

Sorry that was long but why are kids so mean?!?!?!
That's horrible.    for your sister.

Oh Jill I don't know why some people are like that... I got caught up with girls like that when I was younger... I still don't like them... I think it is because they have their own insecurities and have to pick on someone else. But your sister did learn a good lesson - that your real friends are your REAL friends...

Hope she has fun at the water park!!!

Hi Jill. Hi Michelle. Many hugs to both of you.

Hi Deb!!!!!

Lisa had MAGIC AND WONDER on the same day... ask her to post her picture!!!

Hi All....you guys were my favorite table and it was fun passing you each night in and out of the restaurant.:cutie:
I didn't get to be at that table. :sad1:

Oh no! I just saw a commercial that reminded me that Tyler wanted a chia pet for Christmas! :rotfl2: I was going to get him the Kung Fu Panda one. Oh well, that can be something he can get with the Walmart gift card from my dad & stepmom. :thumbsup2

I can't believe I still haven't found my cord to recharge my phone! :headache: I've checked every outlet to see if I left it plugged in somewhere, I've pulled things out to look behind and under things, I even looked in my dirty laundry basket thinking it maybe got scooped up with some clothes. The only thing I can think of is maybe I took it to work with me to charge my phone one day and left it there. I guess I'll have to drive up there tomorrow and check.

Tyler probably put it in a logical place when we last cleaned and I just haven't figured out where. I'll ask him when he gets home and I'll be he knows where it is. It's sad that my 6-year old usually finds things I often lose. :(

:grouphug: to all of us

I keep reminding myself that Dad would not want me unhappy. He would want me remembering the fun we had and to get busy making that fun for my kids and grandkids the way he made it for us. :thumbsup2

He was like that. ::yes:: Yes, he was

So, I get teary and then get busy. :grouphug:
.

I will add them to a plate of the other cookies I am making......for gifts......neighbors, etc.
Lucky neighbors! :goodvibes And lucky you too, since you enjoyed your new gadget while making them! :thumbsup2
