Great questions Albert. I would have to say YES the Thieves do have names for their GPSes and a male or female would probably depend on the voice. Ours is Gabby.....female.....she talks A LOT!!!

Ellen sounds like she is really nice and helpful.

Any other Thieves have names for their GPSes?

Not me. I just use the one on my phone. :thumbsup2

So Tyler's in-school suspension is tomorrow. That's very sad because it's the classroom Halloween party. I was taking time off work to be there. I've never missed one single in school holiday party. I will still go up there though because he picked out goodies and made goody bags to give to all his classmates, so I guess I'll be distributing those. This will be the first time he's missed a class party too.

*edited: just texted with Tyler's teacher and found out the suspension was today, not tomorrow. Must have been a typo in his dad's text to me about it.

Well... I'm working on the latest kidney stone...

it hit last night...

spent most of today in bed swacked out on meds.

As everyone has told me... this too shall pass... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hope today is a better day for you :hug::hug:

Deb -

Here's hoping you check-in before driving off tonight. DRIVE SAFE!!

Well, I spoke too soon in that regard as well. :headache: He also told me last night in a text that he told Tyler he was not allowed to do anything or go anywhere the rest of the week. I was impressed. Then he texted me this afternoon asking if I have a Halloween costume for Tyler that they could pick up on their way to the Scouts Halloween party tonight. :headache: I told him no and that I couldn't believe he'd take Tyler to a party today after what happened yesterday AND since he told Tyler he'd lost all privileges for the rest of the week. He asked "Do you think I should have him miss it? He woke up in a good mood this morning and I'm just a big softy." I told him Tyler should absolutely miss the party because otherwise it's like he's being rewarded for his yesterday and he's not learning about consequences for his actions, only learning that dad will still let him do fun things. I never heard back from him after that. :headache:

He does always end up doing the right thing, so fingers crossed that he stayed strong and explained to Tyler why he was missing the party.

So....did Chuck make him miss the party?

Sorry that the news today is all about kidney stones and suspensions. It can only go up from here.

Finances are done, addresses are ready to input into Gabby, I have everyone's cell phone numbers and I'm ready to leave. Just have the last minute stuff to grab and go.

So now the waiting begins. It's going to be a long day. It's only noon. John won't even be here until 7pm-ish and we leave by 8pm. I've got 8 hrs. to occupy until then.

Thanks Monica!!!

Deb... I will be thinking of you all night... then again... we may be on line with each other if I'm up again like last night... :thumbsup2

This will be my last DIS post until we get to the hotel on Sat. afternoon/evening. In between naps I'll be on FB with my phone. Thank goodness we have a charger in the car. Cya. I'm happy to be packing the car now and leaving very soon.

This is a movie/TV weekend for me without doing anything productive and NO guilty feelings about it. We have 1 day shy of 2 weeks before Tyler's doctor appointment, so I want to take some "me time" while I can to rest up for one more potentially crazy week if things stay rocky for Tyler. I'm trying to take a break from being mom over the weekend.

HA! I'd never get a reliable report from dad because he says the school over exaggerates and makes a big deal about "nothing". :headache: But no news from school is good news, and I've received no phone calls. When Tyler called me to tell me the stuff you saw I posted on FaceBook, I asked him how his week is going and he told me no problems. :thumbsup2 He does tell me when he has issues, so I believe him, but will of course discreetly check with the teacher at the end of the week (I always do when he's at his dad's, if I don't hear anything from anybody). I'll be at school Friday anyway for the classroom Halloween party. :thumbsup2

What kind of student was Chuck?

We are having a great vacation! Not sure how you all coordinate mini-meets
It's enough to coordinate my own family. :rotfl:

Have a great day all !

He tells me he was "rambunctious like Tyler" and outgrew it and that's why he feels Tyler is just doing normal boy things.

Tyler had to be kept out of the "regular" classroom most of the day Friday because the excitement of the classroom Halloween party all the kids were looking forward to all day long was too much for him to handle. But the special ed teacher helped him stay in control and keep himself together so he could attend the party. She told me she thinks it helps that I come every year to every party because she's able to tell him "Tyler, wouldn't your mom be sad if she came up here for the party and you weren't able to be there?" :thumbsup2

Glad you're enjoying your vacation! :)

The knot is in my stomach again, in anticipation of another school week, never knowing when to expect a call from school or what bad news I'm going to hear when I pick him up at the end of the day.

In addition to episodes Chuck told me about this past week, his teacher told me Friday when I was up there that the day before, she wound up with a bruised shin from him and the aide has deep scratches on her arm because he dug his fingernails in and dragged them down her arm. He says it makes him feel better to hurt people. Hoping the doctor has a new approach. Trying to keep my sanity until we get to see the Dr. :headache:

Hoping tomorrow is a good day because his former best friend classmate is super excited to see him for trick or treating and it would be so unfair to disappoint the other boy when it's not his fault if Tyler has a bad day. Not sure how to handle that one. Just hope for a good day and then I don't have to figure it out.

Hoping it's a good week because I really want us to go see Phineas & Ferb live on Saturday. I couldn't wait and see because then the tickets might sell out. But if it's a bad week for him, of course I'll have to try to sell the tickets.

I think I'm going to try to rent "Spooky Buddies" to watch while we eat supper after I pick Tyler up. We tried to rent it last weekend, but it was out of stock everywhere we went and we both want to see it. It looks so cute! :goodvibes

I should have raked leaves today. We'll have to try to find time to do that throughout the week. :thumbsup2

So we went trick or treating with Tyler's former classmate Jonathan whose family moved a half hour away. They had to move because they needed a one level house because he'll be wheelchair bound soon and is already unable to do stairs any more (he has muscular dystrophy) and they had a hard time finding a house big enough for all their kids and in their budget (they have 7 kids). Anyway, it was a great time for the kids, but it totally stressed me out watching the parents get all 7 kids dressed and ready to go after we all ate pizza. Wow! one parent was pushing the 2 year old in the strolled and the other parent was pushing the wheelchair, but the 2 oldest boys took turns doing that as well. And a couple of her kids would randomly come give us 3 adults candy every now and then. They're all pretty well behaved kids, but it still wore me out keeping up with all of them, and the noise level. Wow! We've known them all a couple years but I guess I just forgot just how many kids they have! ;)

7 kids :scared1:

Things have been busy at work! Yesterday there were just 2 of us working, so it was steady...hardly any time to relax.

Hope everyone is well.

Sounds like Halloween went well for all.

I had a great time visiting with Marilyn, John, Deb & John at Mimi's on Sunday. As Maz pointed out, it was just like our 1st DIS meet back in 2007. The 5 of us meet outside of Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD.
