A bit freaked out today. Just found out that a bill is about to be passed in Michigan to reform workers' compensation laws, basically eliminating work comp litigation. The bill hwill be voted on in November, but bigwigs are 90% sure it will pass (something about it being pushed by republicans and our MI government is mostly republican, so it is believed it will pass). The word is that the new law would take effect December 1st and by this time next year work comp lawyers will no longer be in practice. This has been in the works for quite some time and has been kept secret to prevent panic and chaos.
So I need to update my resume and get it out there again.I should wait to see how this all pans out, but if I wait, hundreds of others who work for work comp lawyers will all be looking for jobs at the same time.
Michigan has one of the highest unemployment rates, so I might be flipping burgers!
I was lucky enough to have a job unaffected by the economy, and then politicians had to start messing with the laws.Good news: at least I have a few months instead of a couple weeks.
Hello to all who are still here! This thread seems to be dying a slow death.

We are back from our b2b Dream, DD's wedding cruise. This vacation was such a nice break from reality. It was really hard to come home this time and I am having a hard time adjusting to real life.
The wedding was absolutely wonderful! Definitely the best way to get married! The Dream was a gorgeous ship. So new and sparkling. Just loved her! Would be happy to answer any questions about our trip. Lot's of great memories for our family.
Sorry, I don't know how to post a link. If anyone wants to see pictures you can find them on the DIS in the Disney Wedding and Honeymoons forum. Go to the the thread, Disney Cruise Brides-Let's Chat about our Weddings/VR's. The thread should be near the top of the page. A link to pictures is on page 238, post 3563. Sorry, that is the best I can do.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Donna
Good evening folks!
Monica - sounds like you've been busy and having fun
Deb - sorry to hear about the bank problems
Michelle - glad you homeowners assoc meeting was okay
good day for me today. My temp job which ends Dec 31st has been extended until Aug 31st. The duties will change a little, and my supervisor's boss becomes my boss, and I'll be located in a different spot, but the pay's the same and there's a good chance it will eventually lead to something permanent, but if not its good experience and the new boss has said she knows I need to get varied experience to get my accounting certification and she's going to try to give me things to get the experience I need. So I'm happy
Works been crazy busy over the last while but this week is calmer and then next week will go crazy again![]()

Good time to update and put some feelers out... maybe it won't be as bad as it seems... have you talked to the big wigs at work to see what they say?

so...does that mean more visits HERE???![]()
Plan to do some online shopping so I have enough time to return/replace what doesn't fit before my cruise. (which reminds me....I still have some shoes to return to Zapos...better get that done this weekend also!)
Off to facebook for a few moments before hitting the shower. HUGS FOR EVERYONE!!
