Will came over today & we showed the yard/lawm/weeds who is the boss!

We did the front, then took a break & tried out a new french bistro nearby, went to Walmart to buy some more topsoil, and then came back to do the back yard. Boy the back was scary!! I've put that off for a while - figured the front was what mattered cuz that's what people see

I'm SO happy that's done!

I owe Will BIG time! He's really a true friend.

I finished up the scrapbook/office space yesterday & am DONE for the weekend (except ). If I get motivated at all...I can always move some stuff in the garage.

Whew! I'm pooped! I will be signing off shortly. Have a great night!

I am sitting in an air conditioned condo when I knit and it is for the cruise to Alaska. Didn't you wear a sweater there ?

HA....she was the one wearing a short sleve tee shirt for the whale watching while I was bundled to the nine's. Different strokes.

I don't think I every saw Holly in a coat let alone a sweater the whole trip!

They did have funnel cakes. I didn't have any. I had french fries and a coke. Then we brought candy with us from the store. I had twizzlers and crunch N munch and then I had a bottle of water. I'm trying to be good and when I'm not, I like to balance with some good.

I like twizzlers when I'm at the movies. And sometimes some popcorn. They charge you if you bring in food to our drive in, but I always sneak some snacks in anyway. Some families bring in whole meals and set up camp. But you get two movies at ours so it's a good deal. I may just go and see it there after all. I don't need to be in a nice air conditioned movie theater with good sound, now do I???

OH MAN, I would get in so much trouble if I even considered proposing to do this cruise. We have Hawaii booked and John said only one a year. Then we booked the NYC cruise to Canada. John said it was ok to do those two in one year because it was out of NY and he needed the least amount of time off. 12/12/12 on the Fantasy would be number three and really pushing my luck. I would LOVE to do it though. hahaha.

I'd LOVE to cruise out of NY. But Deb... you know cruising out of there IS sentimental for us... we love our NY harbor!!!!

They finally let me out of my contract with them. I have been on disability for 9 years. I wrote to them and told them this info. They denied me last year. This year they wrote to me and said that the remainder of my loan has been cancelled. HOORAY!!!

The kid is still paying his every month.

John never had one since the Navy paid for him to go to school.

Mine are still in limbo... I should try and write them again.

I probably wouldn't have been in a sweater either. I would have dragged it along with me because the QM would have been convinced that if I didn't at least bring it with me... I'd die of pneumonia...

I'm waiting for my brother to get here. Kenney has decided to come up and work on the house. I hate when he does this but it's mom's house and she doesn't mind... I try to stay out of the way. I'm sure he will lecture me about the garage again (my only real storage since I don't have a basement) and such... but I'll just cough in his face and tell him I'm going back to bed...


Took a nap earlier... woke up feeling crappier than before... usually the Cipro kicks in and I feel sicker for a little bit and then it breaks and I suddenly feel better. I'm hoping this is so.

I have this cruise booked too...unfortunately it's just a dummy date as there is no way I can get the time off work so close to Christmas. I do have a cruise in Nov booked though...I was going to move it too after booking Hawaii, but I really want to go on it and there is a chance Sara might join me, so I'm hanging on to it, at least for now. Of course, if I happen to win a lottery I could do all three

Well.. the QM is home!!!

She fed me dinner and then MADE me go to the DR...

Urgent care closed at 9 pm... I walked in the door at 8:45 and was back out the door again, Rx's in hand by 2 minutes after 9..

I think they should treat me for whiplash too...

got me some Cipro... should knock out anything I have going on... and they gave me an rx for a nasal spray but the medicare drug plan doesn't cover that.. I guess old or disabled people don't have noses...

I thought you were already given some antibiotics a few days ago?

Wearing one. No, I didn't wear one there. Spring is too warm for sweaters for me. That's just me though. Everybody's got their own internal thermostat.

Yup! But that's because spring temps in MI were the same as AK, and that's how I'd dress at home in the spring. It was 60 most days, so I was very comfy in t-shirts.

Hi Michelle Hi all

I have finally finished my training for work! What a long and stressful 2 weeks! I had to write a test on Friday, and it was just like when I was in school only worse, seeing as I haven't had much practice writing tests for a long time! I always get so stressed out...I wasn't sleeping and felt so sick the morning of the test...all from nerves I did get 98.5% though I'm actually happy to be heading back to work tomorrow. It was so good to get back home and back to my own bed again! Sleeping in a hotel is not nearly as fun when you are training as it is on a vacation!

It wasn't all bad though. There were 5 other women from different parts of Southwestern Ontario who were also taking the training course and staying at the hotel. I hadn't met any of them before, but they were all very nice and a lot of fun...too bad we had to spoil the fun with classes every day We did all go out to dinner together every night and took turns picking a new restaurant. We also sat out at the patio every night after class for a drink and conversation. A few of us also met at the pool a couple of evenings for a swim.

It is very hot here and hasn't rained in a couple of weeks. It was around 32 today, but with the humidity felt much hotter.It is supposed to stay hot all week. We are under a heat advisory. I know I'm not the only one having heat issues I would still rather have this weather than winter and snow any day (I know, I know, Holly would rather have snow )

Yesterday I cleaned out my fridge and washed floors. Today I got up very early and pulled weeds and washed outside windows and by 9:00 was exhausted! I still managed to go grocery shopping and to the mall. I had to shop for Brian's birthday, which is next weekend. I have to work Sunday but will be having everyone over after work for his birthday.

Well, enough about me Hope everyone is keeping well. I miss you guys

I think that the difference is that there is a specific group of friends here that are all like minded. On FB my friends list varies so much that I have to think about what I'm saying because it goes to everyone.....not a select group like on here. Also, I have more room to write so I can elaborate each item, unlike on FB.

I use FB to be generic and quick. I'm on here to be wordy and specific. It's different.

Although anybody can read these boards, most people who I know don't have any idea these boards exist, so it's not likely they'll stumble across things I say here.

John has bad knees too so I know what that's all about. AND YES, you definitely are way too young to have such bad knees. Maybe you could try wearing a knee brace. John says they help somewhat. I don't know what they will have us do in the aerobics class. All I did on my own was walk through the waist high water back and forth. On both ends I would hold onto the side and do leg kicks and bends....and the bicycle. I only did it for a half hour total. Aerobics is an hour and a half. EEK!! I'll just do my best until I build up. I can't expect to do everything first try. I think I'm going to like it.

An hour and a half?! Wow! What you did on your own sounds perfect though. Great job!

I used to have a knee brace for one knee, but since I gained all my weight it's too small. I need to find some large enough, one for each knee.
