Well... I did it... I got scalped...

I cut my hair really short... It's sort of in shock right now... so am I... So as soon as I get a chance to style it myself (I always hate how other people do my hair...) I will post a picture...

Brave girl!!! Last time I did that it was St Valentine's Day 2002 and the woman who did my hair had been jilted on that day the previous year. Let's just say she took it out on me and the result was not to my (or anyones) liking...

Oh and the "Here Come The Girls" one is finally completed...

Hi! Been busy celebrating lots of birthdays here with family and friends and I have started new payroll training for work. I've been out of town for the last few days and go back next week. Just found out my job will be changing big time in 2011 and...oh yes...strike is set for Oct 8 unless the company comes back with a much better offer

I'm really enjoying the new job and now I must get moving so I can get to it.

Shannon, I'm glad to hear the new job is going well!

Morning all!

I did my 1st 5k on Saturday (AIDS walk St Petersburg) with Will & Mickey - we did it in 1 hr and 6 minutes with no break. It was VERY slow going at the beginning - too many people, plus we had to stop 2 times for traffic. Next 5k is on the 2nd of October - hope to make up some time there

holly i have a mouser he does a great job been keeping the rat mice and gophers in check for the last 3 yrs or so. and don't use poison if the cat chooses to eat 1 it will be poisoned also.

I'm really hoping my cat will be good for that. He might. He knew there were mice around because he was going crazy trying to get in the kitchen cabinets. I suppose I should just let him get in there.

Holly, don't torture yourself again over this. I have the rat poison all over my house and I have a cat and a dog. It's fine. I don't have any more mice. When I get one, I pick up the old poison (they're like blocks) and put down new ones and that's it. They're gone! I have never seen a dead one yet. They crawl off and look for water and die outside in their search. Really, it's safe and easy to use. Try it!!!!!!

We did use rat poison last winter and it worked. Took a few months, and finding a few dead ones in the house, but they eventually all disappeared. I'm just too afraid of risking the cat getting poisoned. Every single site I googled had info on bad news for the cat if he happens to be quick enough to get to one of the poisoned mice before it dies. I believe you that your animals are fine, I'm just afraid to risk it, based on my luck. I do have traps in the kitchen now (enclosed traps), and I'm hoping I can get them quicker this time before they multiply. I'm sure that's what happened last time, they reproduced before I knew they were there. From the gross "evidence" I found, they had been around a very long time without me knowing. Yuck. I think I found out very early this time and am feeling much better about it today. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

our cat doesn't usually eat the rodents but we have dogs......and we have seen tails disappear down their throats. yummy treats lol

Ken & I are now moved over to his parents place until we go into our new house. And we have wireless internet again, so I might manage to get on her more regularly!

Life has been crazy busy trying to get the old house ready to sell. Everything is taking us longer than expected. And of course weather hasn't cooperated. We are starting to see an end at least, but it'll probably be 2 more weekends going down there (one to finish the reno work, and one to finish cleaning!).

I'm really enjoying the new job and now I must get moving so I can get to it.

HOLLY--Put the items from the lower cabinet where you hear the mouse on top of the counter and leave the door open. The cat obviously wants to earn it's keep. Let it get the mice.

The mice are coming in because it is starting to get cold outside. Your house is their resort. Just let the cat tell them you only permit a more exclusive clientelle now.

Newest version of the Castaway Cay map that they are giving out shows 21 Cabanas (I thought they had only said 20 before). I know the first one has a deck/ramp leading up to it for wheelchair access, the others just have a sandy path...for now anyway!
