Thank you Kathe.....so nice of you to say.

John and I talked about what we wanted the baby to call us. John is Pops to Tom and Kris. He said he'll keep it the same for the baby. I'm Debbie to Tom and Kris because I didn't want to be called grandma at 34 years old. But this time I think I'll have the little one call me Grams. John said his favorite grandmother was Grammy and I had a Gram. So Grams it is!!! Pops and Grams!!

I messaged Tom about it. He's excited and scared. I think he will meet his obligations and finally grow up. I told him he has our support and love. This is probably the best thing that could happen to him.

Rachel is his girlfriend and mother of the baby. I friend requested her on Facebook. I would love to keep in touch and get to know her. We'll see how it goes.

Pops and Grams :goodvibes I love it!

The fact that Tom is excited and scared is a good thing, it means he is welcoming this new little one into his life but realizes what a great responsibility he/she will be.

Hope you are able to get to know Rachel. She would be blessed to have your friendship.

Holly, sending pixie dust that it will happen :tink::tink::tink:

Thanks Kathe! It's not that big a deal though, if we're able to, great, but if not, the important part is the cruise (or I guess I should say 'cruises'). :thumbsup2

I give John an atta boy for going to the doctor.

What sort of tests did they do?

Our doctor said that if he was bleeding after this many days, he would have stoke like symptoms. He doesn't have any so he said why do an MRI. He said an MRI or an Xray cannot show a concussion plus there is no real treatment for a concussion.

The doctor did the usual doctor exam....ears, blood pressure, pulse, etc.

He made John sit then stand up while taking his blood pressure and it dropped 20 points when he stood up.

He's only our family doctor, not a specialist. But we have been with him for 15 years or so and he's smart and we like him. So we trust his judgement. He doesn't send us for any unnecessary tests.

Pops and Grams....it does have a ring to it doesn't it. Thanks.

I agree. I think that Tom is going to get with the program. He has no choice now. He has to be there for his child.

I hope Rachel is the friendly type too. It will be fun to have another girl in the family. Both she and Tom want a boy so if they get their way, then at least I have Rachel as an added girl.

Come to think of it, perhaps I've always been an early morning person ...

Well, that explains it!

I'm still at work, and am going to do a quick check on facebook and head on home. Have a good night everyone!

One of Tyler's friends from school and cub scouts (we've known him since 1st grade) is having surgery on the 27th to remove a mass (one of 8) on his brain stem that is bleeding and causing issues. He had a massive stroke in Kindergarten from the growths, and the bleeding from the current one might cause paralysis (there's info on my FB wall that I posted from his FB page). Make-A-Wish is sending his family to WDW before his surgery (I think they leave on the 13th). When I was reading all this to Tyler, I got to that point and it made me cry because it must not look good for him if MAW is involved. He came to Tyler's birthday party this year and last year and I was amazed at what a polite and smiley kid he is. Every time I see him at scouts I think the same. This is just so sad. I had no idea he had this going on until I saw it shared on FB by the school. :sad1:

Here he is.

Did I miss Ian's birthday

Happy Birthday Ian :flower3::flower3::flower3:

Shhhhhh.... it's Saturday... ;)

We're back....John will be fine. No swelling and no bleeding. Thank goodness. He does have a concussion and low blood pressure. The doctor is taking care of the blood pressure, but there is nothing to do for a concussion. He said John could have headaches for a day or a year. So John bought some extra strength Tylenol. He got a doctors note for the rest of the week so he may just take some sick days.

Glad to hear he got checked out!!! :thumbsup2

Hey Deb, you probably already saw this, but tips on the website for the CN Tower suggest going before 11am or after 5pm when it's less busy, and to buy admission tickets online, print them in advance, and avoid waiting in line to do that. I'm going to buy my & Tyler's tickets in advance.

BUT.......don't buy yours yet, I want to wait until our passports get here. I'd hate to buy tickets for things and then not have the passports get here by the 27th. I'm getting worried about that, but we should be fine. This Saturday will be 3 weeks since we applied at the post office, and they say 4-6 weeks but that people are getting them in under 4 weeks. I still worry though.

Oh......and when you buy the CN Tower tickets online, I think I saw something that says you get a 10% discount at their gift shop. I'm going to get the "Observation + Skypod Experience" tickets. You'll see what that is on their site. :yay::yay::yay:

The Queen Mum is Grammy to her grand children... :goodvibes

Thank you Kathe. I will definitely tell him, but since he's a lurker....he'll see it anyway. haha.:laughing:

Yeah... lurker.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I turn the corner on August 14th at 1:30 a.m. (I'll probably be asleep).

1:20 PM August 17th... :snooty:

Come to think of it, perhaps I've always been an early morning person ...

That's why I sleep until noon... :rotfl:

You've even got the exact time, LOL! :thumbsup2

& the exact day too... I was born because my mother's Dr. was going on vacation and because I was an RH baby... they induced - and then they had to transfused my blood... about 1 tsp at a time... I was baptized IN the hospital and that's how I got my mom's name as my middle name... :thumbsup2

Lots of prayers and pixie dust...

MAW does wishes for all kinds of sick children... not just terminally ill ones - so maybe it's not as bad as you think.... He'll be staying at Give Kids the World... http://www.gktw.org/ It's a pretty amazing place.

That's good to know, I thought they only did things for terminally ill kids. I just checked out the place, it's amazing! I didn't realize MAW has their own place for kids & families to stay, how cool! :thumbsup2

Oh, I just figured that would be assumed, if he's not feeling better in those couple of weeks, I assumed Deb would let me know and we can postpone.

Deb, I have NO problems postponing if it comes down to it. I want John to rest and feel 100%.
