Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. 50 now going to 76. Then we go to low 80's for 2 days, then mid 80's for the weekend. Still not a drop of rain anywhere in sight.

I suggested a budgeting class to Summer. She was insulted, and told me she couldn't afford one, lol I quit

I need a break from Fall cleaning, my back is aching. I'm going grocery shopping after I get a haircut, mani and pedi. I'm treating myself today.

Have a good day

I had already fed the company information on age, etc, so they came in with 'new' as their goal.
I'm confused. If you need to replace your water heater, why would the company you called think you wanted anything but a brand new one? Why would you want a used one that someone else had. You would have no way of knowing how used it was or if there was anything wrong with it.

I read it as they were assuming the call for whatever was going wrong with her current one would result in a replacement rather than a repair.

Happy Hump Day!

Long time, no talk. I've been trying to keep up with everyone's days. Glad to see that a couple of you have a Disney trip planned. @flyingdumbo127 I hope you get this whole room fiasco straightened out soon. @lynxstch the last I saw you were waiting to be paid back, glad that finally happened.

The weather has been great. Going up to the upper 80's today thru Friday but no humidity so it shouldn't feel too bad. I'll probably go ahead and turn my air back on though. That damn Chili the cat uses her claws to pull my screens down so she can jump out the windows to go outside. Since I turned the air off, I definitely want the windows opened.

I think I'm going to try to go to the movies tomorrow afternoon. The last installment of Downton Abbey starts tomorrow, excited to see it. They are putting Toy Story back in the theaters starting this weekend for their 30 anniversary. I'd like to go see it, I asked the kids but so far Jacob said no, and Evan said Mia would have to come. I think she would sit through it, she loves watching it at home.

Speaking of Little Miss Mia. We were busy last week! I had her Monday (Labor Day) after we were done at the festival we went to. She spent the night and went back home Tuesday night. Thursday, I picked her up from daycare and we went to the fair's parade (we've been going to this parade since I was a kid). Met my sister, nephew and his little family there. She spent the night with me that night and I finally took her home Saturday afternoon. We went to a couple of parks, got McDonald's, played outside, watched a couple of Disney movies, I gave her a manicure, we were busy. I was tired by Saturday and the dogs were exhausted, but we had a lot of fun.

Glad football started!!! The Bengals actually won their opening day game. Been working in the yard, still have a little bit more to clean up.

That's about it for me, have a great day!

Sometimes they can replace the elements inside the tank.

Lynn I hope you got some rest and feel better.

Good morning. It is 49 now with temps heading to the mid 70s. I worked on lightning lane choices yesterday morning. I got what I wanted and the times seem to work out. Next I have to do the same tomorrow as Jeff will be able to get LL for Fri and Sat and I can finish up everyone's choices. I went to Market Basket to pick up a few things and did some walking. Kenny's water heater is leaking a bit so he had some one come over to take a look. They want 5K to replace the water heater or 6.5K to put in tankless. That seems high. He is getting another estimate today so he can make a decision.

Have a nice day.

@Snowysmom Wow, that sounds like outrageous prices for a water heater, even with the increased prices in everything these days!

Good morning. 51 now going to 82. The weather has been beautiful, and I'm not complaining except that we badly need rain.

Got my haircut done early, she didn't have anyone at 9 so she took me right in. Did my shopping and was home by 10:30.

I spent 3 hours in the afternoon and early evening trying to renew my laptops HP care pack service for a year. (extended warranty). I got an email telling me that I could renew it for another year. Tried calling the number listed, there was no option for what I needed. I tried 4 different phone numbers with the same results. Tried online chat, got an automated thing that tried connecting me with a live agent, but I gave up waiting after an hour. Found a different phone # in my account online. Ended up talking to 3 different people in sales, 1 in product registration, and 2 in Care Pack. Told by most of them that I couldn't extend it again. Two told me I could, but they couldn't get it to take the order. I finally talked to a tech support guy, who tried everything he could, and couldn't figure it out. After an hour on the phone, he finally got on a 3 way conversation with a wonderful man in Care Pack, who said there was no reason I couldn't. He took care of it in 5 minutes. He then looped in his supervisor on the conversation and we told him everything I'd been through for the last 3 hours. That guy filed a complaint and sent it to case management. I think it was only after I said I'd been a customer of HP for 40 years (true). That I have only ever bought HP (true), and paid for support with no issues, but that this would make me never buy another of their products again. I told him I would return the new HP desktop and printer I had just bought. That's when everything changed and I was suddenly given someone who could take care of the problem.
Who in their right mind buys a laptop expecting to have to buy another one after 2 years because you can't get support for any problems?
On their site it says you can buy a pack for $16.99 a month (more than $200 a year), or a one time, one problem fix for $99. No way, not when I could buy the entire year for $79.99. I will fight for what I want when I know I am in the right.

By the time I got off the phone, I was frustrated, had a headache, and hungry because I hadn't eaten all day. It was after 7 by that time.

I'm so tired of having issues with company's refusing to honor their promises, orders that take forever or get all messed up. I bought something online that said US seller, then turned out to be in China. I had to file a complaint with Paypal, because I agreed to one total, and after the fact they added sales tax that was 5x higher than it should have been. Paypal found in my favor and the seller gave me a full refund and the item is now sitting in the UK waiting to get sent here. Add to that all the issues with Amazon taking days to ship something, and I'm going nuts.

Back to Fall cleaning today, but taking it easy, my back is still aching. I just want it done before I leave for HI.

Have a good day
