A co-worker told me lots of people are saying somewhere on the DIS that they're choosing other cruiselines for Alaska because DCL is doing the outer passage instead of the inner. Makes no difference to me, since I've never been, I won't know what I'm missing. Alaska is Alaska in my book. :thumbsup2 That one day cruising through Tracy Arm (or whatever it's called) will be BEAUTIFUL!!! I'll be parking my big butt on Heather's balcony that day. ;) The only downside of that cruise for us is finding things to keep Tyler busy enough that he doesn't miss swimming too much. I know he'll be sad about that part, and I am too, but I will keep reminding him he can swim all summer long at home. :thumbsup2

Off to bed to rest up for tomorrow at work. I HATE Fridays now since one secretary quit, we're down to only 2, and the other only works Mon-Thurs, so instead of just being short a person on Fridays (which is hard enough), I'll be the only one from now on. :headache: Every single secretary and our receptionist try to help out though, but it's nowhere near enough.

Who says you wont be able to swim? :confused3 You never know till your on the ship. I think they do heat the pool, don't they? And you could have perfect weather.....

Here's a pic of the new NCL's Epic.. :scared: Doesn't it look like a building??? Sorry... give me DCL everytime...

Good evening everybody!

I took the last 2 days off work, and got a couple projects finished off at home. My leg slowed me down a little, and I didn't go to soccer yesterday, but should be back playing again next week.

Been getting things ready for our annual camping trip with my family, which will be happening this weekend (long weekend for us!).

Michelle - glad you had a fun visit with your Karen

Deb - your beach day next week sounds great. Keep taking care of your leg. It'll be worth it.

Deborah - have a great trip on the Magic!

Jackie - that flute for Pink on the Dream looks wonderful!

Nan - :grouphug::flower3: for you & your mom.

Where are you going camping Shannon? I hope you have a good time. Our daughter and family are camping this weekend up in the Yorkshire Dales. There is quite a big group of families, all friends via the children's junior school, so all the children have friends to play with, the parents too;)!! They went last year too and had a great time.

I totally disagree  I've done it 3 times twice in Jackson Hole, WY and one time in Montana and no stinky dogs for us. While they do go occassionally so do horses. ...

Obviously there's a superior sanitary sledding experience to be had Stateside, Nan... ;)

My leg is still very painful today since they scrubbed at it yesterday. I'm taking a half a pain killer so my sleep schedule is all off again.

  :hug:Thinking of you, dear Deb... xxx

I chatted on FB with one of my old best friends from NYC days. She is now living in New Jersey.....just 40 minutes from John's job. She has a beautiful quiet unknown beach 20 minutes from her house. We made plans to do a beach day together on Tuesday next week. I'm so thrilled. I'll get this leg soaking in the ocean. That should fix it.

I'm leaving with John in the morning when he goes to work. Then after I drop him off, I'll meet Gail at her house and she can drive from there. I'll be back in time to pick up John at the end of the day.

Gail and I used to go to the East End beaches on Long Island long before I met John. We said it's been over two decades since we sat on a beach together. I can't wait until Tuesday.

Sounds fabulous!!! :cloud9: Funnily enough, I'm going to visit an old school friend next Tuesday!!! No secret beach tho' as I'm heading west by train to Bristol... I'm not sure I've ever been to this city before but I'm looking forward to seeing her, her new home and the sights... :goodvibes

Thanks for all the hugs for mom. She is doing ok - oncologist is pushing drugs - we caved and gave her one and she might allready be having side effects - which means she'll be off it soon. She had a PET scan yesterday and tomorrow morning we meet the radiologist. I don't think we'll do any of it - but we are checking out the options just in case. I think we will find out how long we have tomorrow too :sad1:

That's what I think, Holly... If I'm doing Alaska, I'd rather do it with DCL... ::yes::

You know Kaz... I've been known to talk certain people into things... warn Richard, will you?

& you're right about the ship... can you imagine cruising on it??? I think it holds like almost 5000 passengers... it's as big as the RC Oasis... :sad2: We could have a real problem with Nan if she has to fight THAT many people for a tile lounger... or rather the other people will have a problem with Nan... we might even give her an exemption for Monday slapping...

California here I come.

He's singing now??? :rolleyes1

That cruise ship is totally horrible looking!

I agree... it looks like a building... not nice at all.. or classy like us!!!

Can you imagine fighting THAT many people for ship services??? :sad2: :sad2:

Bill and I have been married 40 years today. We dated 2 years before that. Gosh I'm old!

Congratulations Gydell and Bill. From one oldie to another!!! Hope you are having a celebration.
