I need some special prayers please...

Some of you have seen my posts on FB...

My Uncle Frank is very sick. He's 84 and he's really had his health problems over the years...

He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday for what they thought was a simple hernia... but he developed pneumonia very quickly and he is very sick.

My mom talked to my Aunt Winnie this morning... She thinks that he only has days to go...

I'm sad but I'm also ok with his going because you kind of get to a point where you just say "God... take him but make it peaceful..."...

I think it's getting to that time...

So... please... if you can... if it's time... ask that it be peaceful...

So sorry Michelle. Thinking of you.

Couldn't post this on FaceBook. Had an awesome lunch today! Our office manager asked me to join her and 2 other co-workers for lunch, I told her I can't, it's not in the budget, she told me to just come and the firm will buy. So of course I said yes, we went to a cute little Mexican place, had a wonderful lunch, and she used the firm's credit card. :goodvibes She told us "This is the firm's way of saying thank you for all your hard work". I asked her if "the firm" even knows they're buying us lunch, and she said, "No, but what they don't know won't hurt them!" ;) Well......in that case, next time let's go someplace where we can get lobster! :rotfl:

Fantastic Holly. So great to be appreciated isn't it?

Deborah, once again Marilyn has good advice! Listen to her ;)

I'm envious that you could find three dresses though. I shop and shop and shop and am lucky if I can find anything I am looking for  I hate shopping!

I have my red mid leg length dress for formal nights and another nice dress for semi formal. Just found out my friend who we are sharing a table with has gone and bought 4(yes FOUR) LONG formal dresses and taking them ALL!!! I want to

her!!!;) I never thought she would dress up like that.(Not meant as a bad comment though it sounds it, more just from what she had said) I kind of feel I should try and get a long dress now though.

I've already decided to keep plying mom with vodka... the Dr. did say to keep her hydrated... hey why not... Gin worked for the other QM... didn't it Marilyn? ;)

Well something worked to be sure, though alcohol is not the best thing at keeping people hydrated!!!!!!!!!

I just realized that I didn't give you guys the update on Ian's MRI. Thank you for your prayers for my boy :lovestruc

Apparently there are many pollups in Ian's nose & sinuses. They aren't playing surgery yet...they are going to try steroids 1st, then surgery if necessary. Doesn't seem like cancer is a thought (THANK GOD!!). Cystic Fibrosis seems to have been ruled out too by the sweat test, but that was also when the thought was that there was only 1 pollup.

So...I guess this means it's a wait and see thing now.

That is good news Monica, though it must be uncomfortable for Ian at the moment.

 :lmao:

Did I already tell the story about my son and the pork chop? I was at work, my husband was at home with him and told him he couldn't have dessert until he ate his meat....well I get a call at work saying they are taking my son to the hospital :scared1: He had stuck the meat up his nose and was having trouble breathing and they couldn't get it out  Of course he was 2 not quite a baby!

Oh dear.

We had to go to Casualty with our daughter when she was not quite 2 as she had stuffed cotton wool up her nose which had eventually got nasty and smelly!!!! She had seen me cleaning her baby brother's nose, so did the same to her own(kind of)

When our eldest son was about 7 I think, his teacher brought him home from school as he had a small silver ballbearing stuck up his nose.:confused3 All he would keep saying was he was playing with it around his face and it had got stuck.:rotfl2: Another trip.

Thanks Deb - I'm ok today. just tired...but excited for Molly's 13th birthday tomorrow

Mom is ok - Lee takes her to the doctor tomorrow to have her drained

sadly her surgeon took the nodes this time because they felt invovled. I don't think it's going to be good news :sad2:

sadly mom doesn't remember from minute to minute about things like "the drain" being important.

the sister drama is over for now since we don't have to be together :snooty:

Still thinking of you all Nan. Molly's special birthday will be a lovely diversion for you.

...I'm so sorry that I haven't been here to give you guys the support that you deserve & need. Please know that you are continuously in my heart, thoughts, & prayers. This goes for everyone. Please forgive me for not being here.
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: That goes for me too!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::
My internet's been loopy for a while and now has given up altogether so am using the iPad to surf - which is OK for reading but s-l-o-w going for responding. So please forgive my lack of involvement and know I'm thinking of you all.. Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Jan. Things are vastly improved on what they were, but I have this ongoing pain(and one or two other little problems;)) which hopefully should soon settle. Seems a long time now, but the doc said it could take up to a year from the acute attack, which was last December. I only get pain during the day, and some meds take care of it eventually, so I am quite lucky there. It must be related to eating/digestion of the food rather than plain deterioration of the pancreas or I would get pain at night.:) Can't complain really.
.......

Do you find any relief by eliminating any foods from your diet? The elimination diet I worked through since the TA cruise led to the discovery that I am now sensitive to nuts. Who knew. I never used to be, but it is a small thing to eliminate for the relief I feel.

Best wishes as you recover!

I have been trying to keep a bit of a diary, but nothing particularly seems be a culprit of the pain. I'm supposed to be still on a low fat diet, which basically I am doing, but not completely fat free as you do need some fat. Fat and too much protein can cause the pancreas problems, so I'm also cutting back on the protein a little. Fruit, veg and carbohydrates are fine. No alcohol at all!!! Just a time thing now. Thanks for the good wishes.

Well it must be official now....I must be cruising because I just bought some FE gifts....Shannon, I went with your choices.....the soaker ball and the squirting turtle. I bought plenty of them so I can use them for more than the October cruises. I think I'm just going to gift my tablemates. I got all the housekeeping gifts and other gifts for the tablemates. I got all the Lila (Lisa G's niece) birthday and FE gifts. I had so much fun getting things for her. Such a joy to shop for a girl. Such a novelty for me.

I just finished paying all the bills....I have some extra to make a payment towards the LA Repo. But the jewelry store in town is having a Christmas in July sale and everything in the store is 50% off tomorrow only. hhhmmmmmmmmmm maybe I should hold off on making that payment until after I go shopping. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

One can NEVER have too many diamonds.

My grandfather would put the hearing aids in and then turn them off...:scared1:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:.....that's funny!!!

You know... that gets me... the luxury suite and I get to eat Nathans!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (This is going to be a hoot!!! :dance3:)

How weird right! It looks all pretty and fancy with the tables and the wood and the glass....

They said they were offering boxed lunches of gourmet wraps for a mere $35 per person. I said $35 for a wrap and they said, it's gourmet. I told them I would skip it.

We have air conditioning, a comfy seat, a bathroom and waitress service to the bar for the bubbly.....what more do we need!!!

I have had sinus surgery.....it isn't pretty. Many hugs to Ian and wishes for improved health with simple solutions.

Well... it's been raining all day and for some reason I'm feeling pretty good pain wise... usually it's the other way around...

So sorry Michelle. Thinking of you.

Thanks

Fantastic Holly. So great to be appreciated isn't it?

I take myself out to lunch every week... I thank myself for all the hard work and then I give myself the afternoon off... :rotfl:

Honey... I got to dine with the two best dressers on that cruise... :goodvibes:goodvibes & I loved it... and I wasn't overly dressed either... Just go and have fun!!!

I'll give her water inbetween... but didn't the other QM have a flask in her purse???

That is good news Monica, though it must be uncomfortable for Ian at the moment.

I put vaseline in my hair when I was about 2... reached for it off the changing table... took my mom days to get it washed out (this was before they had Dawn liquid..." but to this day I have great hair... :thumbsup2

I think I'm going to look into Gershon's Deli and see if they can make up a nice tray for us to bring... some sandwiches and salads... I have a cold bag that I can bring with us. We can order drinks there... I'll also bring some fruit and cookies maybe... :goodvibes :goodvibes (too bad I can't bring the rolling cooler with me...:rotfl2:)

Very very nice where we are thanks Michelle, and going to be nice all weekend and into next week. How about your neck of the woods?

It's raining here today... which makes a mess of course for the opening of the track today but it is good for my lawn and keep Smokey the Bear happy with the fire danger in the woods... and you know how we like to keep that bear happy!!

Mom is still up at the cape... Both brothers are there now and they have decided to have a Lobster boil today... they are drawing straws as to who gets to put the lobsters to death..:scared1: (so far I'm giving the edge to Kenney...Timmy's a wimp...:rotfl:)
