I just went through Oriental Trading magazine and found 10 things that I want to hand out for FE gifts. How do I pick?

I want to do:

Smarties
Pirate: eye patch, rings, stickers, balloons
Hat: visors
Balls: bouncing, soaker
Turtles: plush, squirting


I'm thinking of soaker balls and squirting turtles.....What's everybody's top two?

We are in Orlando till the 17th, then we go off to Miami for 3 nights!!! I hope we can meet with you - perhaps with Monica too. Looks like it would have to be the 15th??? We would love to see you again.

On the June 12th cruise, Michelle told us that they would be announcing the 2012 cruises the end of August - 1st of September. I don't want to wait until Nov!

When I was a kid growing up.....it wouldn't be summer if we didn't go to the Cape. It was my mom's favorite place in the world. I love that your mom goes there too Michelle. It just reminds me of many fond memories.

I'm glad you get a breather too. It's good to spend some time on your own.....especially if you're having some company soon.

I went to Martha's Vineyard as a mothers' helper for a couple of years... actually it ended up being a 2 week vacation...

I just want to remind anyone interested in going to "wherever" the 2012 cruises go....they will probably be announced around November-ish. Remember that deposits for special cruises (Hawaii) may be hefty. So start saving your pennies now. I know I will work on putting aside that money so that Monica can book me on the Hawaii cruise. YEAHHHH!!!!! I'll probably book a dummy ressie onboard to hold for the 2012 announcements.

Another thing to book in Sept...

That's EXACTLY it!!! I am getting lots done without the questions "What are you doing that for" "Why are you keeping that?"

I've been using her bed to lay out and sort all my clothes. Made it much easier... and I've been able to really go through things and get some stuff ready to drop off at the Mission in Schenectady...

Ya know, they had 3 weeks vacation. When you're due to arrive home and you're depending on other people to pick you up.....then just get home already. Get her done!!

Shell, we ARE doing FE gifting on the Casey cruise. You CAN bring your FE if you get to go.

didn't have a good night - you know one of those where you don't feel to be asleep, though probably do get more sleep than you think. Than I was awake for some time too. Got up for a while to try and break the cycle and it did work.

Oh Smarties. The Canadians have the same as us, the correct ones!!!

So the kid is still not home yet. John had to call him again last night to find out that they decided to stay another night on the road. Nice of him to call and let John know.....he's in la la land again with his mom.

Shell, I'm not the jealous type and I have nothing to be jealous of...John is fully committed to us. But I could tell you stories of his ex that would curl your hair. She should have been locked up years ago. I won't go into details on here.

I do have one story I can share....this is why she is not permitted to know where we live. When we first moved to PA we lived with the kid and Sandi and the boys....they were only 2 and 3 years old at the time. We rented a 2 story townhouse with a full basement. One time when the kids' mother was visiting, they were out together until late on a week night. Me and John had long since gone to bed. John wakes up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and who does he bumb into in the hallway....his ex. She crossed a line. So we have to set the boundaries for her.

He really could do with a hearty slap! OK, I know he is too old, but he seems a rather big kid!! Sorry you have this to contend with. Though it could well be the mom who puts some sly pressure on him.

His mom gets whatever she wants from him. He would never say no to her for anything. I really don't care what their relationship is as long as it doesn't affect us. When that line gets crossed, so do I!!!

Yes, one of those strange nights and can't think of a reason!! Wasn't too well yesterday so could have been that. I think I will have a power nap. I'm not one for napping(as you know I always say life is too short to nap), but occasionally I know I just have to.

Another sad day at work yesterday. It was the last day in the office for many people, although they are technically working and have to be "cooperative" until July 30th.

It was my former boss's last day. I've known her for 10 years, and reported to her for 8.5 of them, at two different companies.

I am happy for her, because she got a written job offer on Thursday, so she's thrilled. Also very happy to be out of the place.

It will be weird on Monday for those of us now remaining. Those not laid off were told that they were "safe," whatever that means.
