Well, time tracking for management to determine how much time you spend on a task isn't the same as actually billing a client. I just know when I had to do it, it was a royal pain in the butt....I even allocated 15 minutes of my day to 'tracking work projects'. :rotfl:

Nan, I made a lovely omlette this morning, but now it's time to think about lunch! Have to go out and buy two work presents and some new shoes, so I think I'll take my book with me and stop at Subway for lunch.

FACEBOOK people, please note the link (on my wall and Dennis') about the privacy 'update' and be sure an adjust all your settings. (and think twice about all those applications)

Oh, I actually spent several hours de-cluttering this morning...still have my bedroom and office to do, but the rest of the house is ready for the cleaning people!

.

Jackie, you do realize that I do accounting for a living  I was being a bit sarcastic...I've set up many clients with job costing processes for both internal reporting and external billing. The reality is if it is just for internal reporting the info is mostly garbage in garbage out. There are tax reasons to have project hours accounted for, of course along with just nosey disconected management ideas as well. You can tell that I'm not a fan of this type of reporting, as the accuracy is not usually very good

Ian sorry you have to do this. New management is different from the old as we talked about. I hope you can keep a good state of mind for as long as you are there.

Jackie - there was NO omlette in my kitchen :sad2: Next time let me know and I'll unlock the door for ya :lmao:

and thanks for the FB link. I did clean mine up a little more. I also found that I'm not doing any more of those Q&As they are just a way to get info from people's profiles :thumbsup2

No, we don't at our office. The lawyers bill for the time.

very interesting...I'm always disgusted when I read clients bills that have paras and secretarys hours more often than not they are hours that they trained at clients expense.

Might be different because your cost of living is so much less there

Have you noticed on Facebook the many of the adverts on the right hand side of the applications pages are based on info about you. I have 'Free trial products for seniors' or 'for over 60's. then there are Cruises, Florida hotels, 'Homeowners over 55....., and others I can't remember!! These are harmless I know, but just makes you think.

I had a client that made software that tracked what you bought on sites and then suggested more of the same idea. It really is a smart marketing tool from a company perspective. But personally I'm creeped out that "they" know what they know :cool2:

are you feeling any better Marilyn? & pictures coming of the remodel soon???

Sharing some tree cutting pictures.....

First, here's the skirt I got and put on the table after it was cleared up.

Christmas2009012.jpg

Here it is again with the pointsettia in the space where the tree goes.

Christmas2009018.jpg

Then we went to go get the tree. We took the Suzuki, it's small but it has 4 wheel drive. Here we are approaching the tree farm.

Christmas2009022.jpg

Getting Closer.

Christmas2009024.jpg

Trees, trees and more trees.

Christmas2009029.jpg

Christmas2009033.jpg

John thought he was in the beast and tried to cross a little brook of running water. See.

Christmas2009034.jpg

Turns out it was a gully and deep. See.

Christmas2009035.jpg

Needless to say, our car is still there and we're not. We're home now....finally....with our tree. Here's the view I had while sitting inside the car waiting for a pull out with a chain. I couldn't get out of the car because I couldn't get my open wounds wet in a 2 foot gully filled with water. The water was up to the rudder boards outside the doors. So I sat inside and looked for our tree. I found it. Here's a picture of it from inside the car.

Christmas2009036.jpg

The kid walked out into the water and chopped down our tree while we sat in the car and waited to be rescued.

Christmas2009041.jpg

It had to be small because it sits on top of a table, not on the floor. It's a perfect tree. It's in the tree holder right now with the skirt on the bottom. It's beautiful and smells fan-tas-tic. I love it. More pictures to follow soon.

The saga continues.....it's worse than an Ian and Sukie adventure.

Thanks Jackie. I did this again for good measure, and due to your prompting looked at it again due to the change.

I'm listening to Silent Night while smelling evergreen. Now...it's Christmas.

Here's a few pictures of the tree in the stand with the Mickey tree skirt.

So something that should have taken less than a half hour turned into an ordeal over two hours. We were literally stuck in the car while everyone around us tried to figure out how to get us out. They brought the trucks, tractors and chains. There was NO WHERE to hook the chain up to the car. They said everything is plastic and it's going to break when they pull on it. They said it was flat under the frame and they couldn't get a hold onto it there either. We had to leave and abandon it right where it was and climb over the front seat, back seat and into the rear and out the back door and jump....which me and John did.....to get out and stay dry. Then we walked back to the front entrance and they drove us and our tree home. We're here but our car is still there and it's very cold tonight. I wonder if it's going to ice up? Either way, John says that car is ruined after sitting in water overnight. Things get wet. We have AAA so we'll get a special tow out tomorrow. The place was closing so we couldn't get the special tow tonight.

So we got the tree, but it may have cost us a car to do so. And we just put four new tires on the car.....and it made it up our driveway in the snow. Oh well. It's only a car and money. At least we're all fine. And our tree is awesome.

Good story Deb :thumbsup2 You need to add the picture of the stuck car with you in it

The first year Paul and I met we went tree hunting and gathering. I knew he was the guy for me when he tied the tree to the car and the car doors shut

We had to climb out of the car, take off the tree, then open the doors. I think I have some climbing pictures, I should find them...let me see if the boy will look for the box..brb

:) I'm lucky to have you all for friends, thanks Michelle :grouphug:

And we're lucky to have you for our friend too. Thanks.

I mailed out my Diser cards today and yours was in the bunch Kathe. Look for them next week.

I'll be wrapping presents all week. I had to buy all new supplies because the leak in the ceiling in the "box" room or better known around here as Ella's room...that's the ceiling that leaked and ruined all of my wrapping paper and supplies. I had to buy everything today. So I'll wrap and put under the tree this week.

I'm so excited because we only have one free weekend after this one. Then it's Christmas, New Years, then we fly to Florida and cruise. It will happen so fast with the holidays. Soon we'll be on the Wonder seeing all the new renovations and posting those pictures to you all. I can't wait.

HEY KATYPOP!

Well, excited about both actually, but for Christmas I'm the hostess, so there's a little stress involved there (and keeping both sisters happy). The cruise will be totaly kicked back, so I'm very much looking forward to that. AND we picked something fun for Cozumel, a port I thought I wouldn't even get off the ship for, so I'm really looking forward to that. ::yes::

.

What are you doing in Cozumel? When we took a western, we did Tulum instead of Cozumel. We took a speed ferry back to the mainland then drove on a bus and saw some Myan ruins and the most beautiful beach I have ever seen anywhere. John even loved it. The sand was like baby powder. The color of the water and the rocks were stunning. I'll try to find some pics later and post.

I had more sad news this week :sad2: Remember the little boy I mention from time to time who had cancer? He went on a disney cruise and to the parks this past summer and has been cancer free for a year now? Well, his grandma just got back from vacation on Monday, that same day tests have revealed his cancer is back :sad1: He is going through more tests to determine if it is just in one spot or to see if it has spread. I feel so very sad for this family. Micah has been getting so much stronger and healthier all year, so I pray he is strong enough to endure another round of chemo treatments. Would appreciate any prayers that could be sent his way :grouphug:

Sending prayers and hugs.:hug::hug::hug:

We're going to Nachi Cocom Resort. Beach, pool, swim up bar, food, booze and beverages for one set price. They also have additional activities and can pay to do...I think like parasailing and snorkeling and other things. I plan to do pretty much the same thing as I'll do on Castaway Cay....relax, eat, swim, drink, snooze. They only allow 100 people at the resort for the day, so it's not a madhouse...well, unless it's 97 WILD people there with us. Probably won't be that many there in January.

.

Sounds DIVINE.....just the kind of excursion that me and John both love to do. Please post linky. I need to add to favorites for when I do a western again. :cutie:

Wow Deb, 3 miles! Way to go! :yay: I was wondering if you'd be able to do that with your leg acting up. I love how dedicated you are! :goodvibes And great job on 2 more pounds! :thumbsup2

YEAH it was awesome hitting my first goal and watching all the bouncing stars when I popped in the number. So cool!

I think that doing the bike gets the circulation pumping and that's good for the wound. For the first time I'm getting a little blood. The wound care says that's healing tissues getting healthy again. That's great. I think the bike is doing it. So I push myself very hard on there and I'm like rubber when I get off, but it's worth it.

It helps to lose weight too because I've been going off my program with "holiday treats." I stay on the WW program, but I use my weekly points now and sometimes I even use activity points....but I'm still losing. I'm still tracking...I'm just going over my daily points on some days.

That's exactly what they're there for! :thumbsup2 Keep it up girlfriend!

well... today was a year for losing my dad...

It was a weird feeling... maybe because we weren't very close, I sometimes think he isn't gone...

So sorry sweetie. Hugs.

Don't feel bad....I looked my father up on the internet to see if he was still alive and he is...he's still on Long Island with his current wife and family. He thinks my name is Denise....or at least the last time that my mother talked to him he did. Anyway, I thought how aweful that he survived my mom. It's just not fair sometimes.

I do remember you mentioned about it and I feel that life sometime cruel.. I hope he fight for it and beat it...

Yes, it can be weird feeling...and

Today was 30 years ago, I lost my dear mum too...

I am fine today not like last Wed as I was very emotional but today I am okay...I bought a brunch of roses yesterday for her... and put it in a vase and put it in livingroom as it look lovely...

Scottishwee35

That's a very nice sentiment Deborah. My mom loved roses too. I think I'll do the same thing and think of her when looking at them. How beautiful. Thanks.

Now that's hysterically funny. Yeah Paul....love at first incident....a real keeper. I was laughing and John was getting more and more mad the longer we waited. He was steaming and I was making jokes....which just made him even more mad. So funny!:laughing:
