Believe it or not the fixing turkey in the dishwasher does work, so does fish! Showing my age. it was a phase years ago to cook in your dishwasher. It's great for steaming veggies too! I had forgotten all about the dishwasher until this article!

This has been a long day and the hardest. I find making stuffing to be very tedious and I hate making the base for the gravy.

We did have one disaster this afternoon. I am brining the turkey this year. I've never done this before. We had a brining catastrophe. I didn't have Sukie on hand to hold the plastic brining bag. Let's just say that a one point, the kitchen in Eastwood Manor resembled the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. A gallon of salt water splashing down the counter and onto the floor. The only good thing was that I wasn't up the specified 2 gallons yet.

So, I had to start all over again. Wash the turkey, drag it back down to the fridge in the basement, make the brine, cool the brine and then start again.

This time Sukie helped. The brining bag is huge zip bag, but after that was sealed we also tied the top. And we tied the top. And we tied the top.

By the time we were done, the whole thing resembled some bizarre act of poultry bondage.

OMG this is just so funny.....I'm in pain from laughing. I can just imagine the two of you in the kitchen with the turkey....so so funny. I can't wait for the turkey bondage video to be posted....please tell me you did get this on video. :rolleyes1

Now I have to go try on clothes and find something nice to wear out to dinner tomorrow that fits. Everything is too big. Hehehe. Actually that thrills me and it lets me know that I must be doing something right.:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

That's great Deb! :yay:

Well, I'm not making any progress on cleaning. I know I'll have Thursday evening through Sunday at 5 to clean, but wanted to get a start tonight. All I've done is dishes. I seriously think I need an intervention. This is ridiculous.

A neighbor just came over to ask me to sign a card she got for another neighbor whose mom fell & broke her hip & died today, and I was horrified for her to see the house. There are literally piles of crap on every surface. I need to get it taken care of this weekend. It's ridiculous and I have no idea how I let things get like this.

There was an awesome pie in the kitchen at work today, made by the wife of one of the lawyers. Apple pear crumble pie. Oh my gosh, it looked soooo good! BUT......I somehow managed to defeat that temptation. I hope I do as well tomorrow at dinner. I've read the Thanksgiving dinner tips on the WW website, and I'll read them again before heading out of town tomorrow and will try my hardest. :thumbsup2

We've never counted. To my knowledge we've never lost any, although the big pain is when the flatwear gets mixed in with the silver.

I've lost some of our everyday where and I'm sad since the pattern isn't made anymore :sad2:

News on the job front: Had my 2nd in house 3rd interview today completed a request for a background criminal check (I'm screwed huh) expecting an offer on Monday. Still debating but tending towards the job rather than contracting again :thumbsup2

It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. I'm surprised there wasn't a recipe in the NY Post for Alien Abduction Turkey.

I'm sure that's coming tomorrow for the leftovers...

Ohhh I envy you!!! I'm just about getting into my cruise size...

Yuck!!! Wouldn't the turkey be soggy?!

I'm afraid that it would have spots on it because I forgot to add the jet dry... :lmao:
