Disney's "Christmas Carol" was AWESOME!!! We've been to IMAX movies before, but this was our first 3-D movie. VERY COOL! There were quite a few scary parts, which Tyler even admitted, but he told me he still loved it. Then we stopped at the YMCA for about 1/2 hour of swimming before his dad picked him up.

We have tickets to the 3-D IMAX Christmas Carol tomorrow afternoon, down on Navy Pier.

Busy day. I've started some cooking. Sukie is polishing all the silver (OK, plate). We managed to find the salt cellar and it's spoon. He's polishing that too.

The turkey is due to be delivered today. Brining starts tomorrow.

I'm trying to get done small things today. Currently I'm doing the reduction of the apple juice and wine. I bought a half gallon of fresh pressed apple juice. To that half gallon I add 750ml of German wine.

This all simmers to a reduction of 1 cup. Rather sweet and tasty. It is in this reduction that the root vegetables are roasted (carrots, parsnips, sweet potato and rutabaga [swede for our friends across the pond.]).

It is roasted in the reduction with butter, until it is tender and a bit carmelized.

Very nice.

Glad you enjoyed the movie! A friend told me the beginning was quite scary; her 4yo niece refused to stay in the theatre after the first 10 minutes. What did you think?
For a 4-yr old, absolutely too scary. Maybe even so for most 5 & 6 year olds. Tyler's 7 1/2 and was quite scared too, but didn't want to leave. I'd say it's best for kids 9 or 10 and up, but it depends on what they're used to watching. Hope this helps!

::yes::

While watching Twilight I was wondering how that 'little boy' was going to be able to mature enough for the next film. Lots of time in the gym seemed to do the job! There was an audible teenage reaction when he took his shirt off, which made the adults laugh.

.
:rotfl2:

There was that same audible reaction in our theatre too at that scene followed by a chuckle.
When we left the theatre one of my friends said we should all be arrested for having those thoughts about a 17yo! :lmao::lmao:
:rotfl2:

Nan, best wishes for today.

Me? I'm off to jury service. Hopefully I won't be picked, but I think I will be, so I will be quiet for a few days.:lmao:
Oh good, now I might be able to catch you again on FarmVille and FishVille! :rotfl:

Did you let it slip to the new people that you are much more accurate with rum in your system?

not yet ;)

Knock 'em dead. Just remember that it's temporary. Paul will be in demand again very soon. In the meantime, be social and have fun while doing a fabulous job.:cutie:

thanks and ::yes:: I'll keep the temporary thing in mind, but I suspect with private high school fees coming into play soon for Molly it will be a long temporary thing :sad2:

::yes:: Earl Grey's cup ::yes::

Kick some butt!:goodvibes

:goodvibesHopefully you get a quick case if you're stuck doing it. I personally think it would be interesting to do it once just to see what it is like.

Not that anyone's wondering... being I'm awake before Ian... (well... I'm online before him...)

I did sleep... 5 hours starting around 1 am... need to go and get a little bit more... hoping to get turned around for this weekend... I must drive to Jersey for an all important DISMEET!!! :dance3: :dance3::dance3:

How long does the reduction take?

Yup, Shaelyn would be fine and Kaleigh would hide her face at the scary bits. She is currently in an "over-reaction to anything scary phase". Not so much that it really scares her, but that she feels she must say she's scared and snuggle up.

Oh good, now I might be able to catch you again on FarmVille and FishVille! :rotfl:

I'm sure you will!!!

Well I was picked, for a case that should last most of the week, then we will see from then. Overall experience interesting and better than I thought, but the case is disturbing.:sad2:

NAN!

Have fun today!:dance3:
Drink rum AFTER work :goodvibes
I'll have some in your honour tonight ::yes::

I'm home for lunch a little nip wouldn't hurt would it ;)

Okay after hours I'll postpone and we'll celebrate in unison
