Welcome to Friday!
Your Gateway to the Weekend!

I'm hoping to return to some sanity today. I am off all next week, although I'm going to take my laptop home and I'm going to have have to be on a few conference calls and just make sure things are moving along.

It's sort of sad that lately the brightest and happiest thought for me has been that I get to use my NEW Nesco Roaster next week!

Busy, busy, busy weekend coming up at Eastwood Manor. Tomorrow is going to be a MAJOR grocery shopping day, and this weekend I start making preparations for Thanksgiving.

I have a project plan and there are some dishes or components of dishes that start this weekend.

I also go back to leading my Sunday WW meetings after a 2-week hiatus.

I'm really looking forward to returning to some sort of routine after 2 weeks of disruption.

Ian... I checked that store you don't like... you wouldn't have been able to get your roaster there... so now you can really stay away... but they did have my lizzy fruit for $4 less than the other stores so sorry... but I promise not to send you any of the lizzy cookies cause I bought the ingredients at walmart... :rotfl:

I start not well last night and feel got the cold...

I went to hairdresser this morning and I feel very tired and feel sleepy...

I got haircut and colour...

I went to boots and bought tablets called Nurse for quick cold and flu...

My mother in law came this afternoon and she questioned me about New York as I feel awkward...about going to New York.

As it won't be long now as my 5 friend and I flight out next Tuesday morning...

I feel guilty to leave husband and kids...

Scottishwee35

Honey... take care of yourself.. and why are you guilty??? You have lunch with some great friends on the 29th!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ok.. the question is...

WHY AM I AWAKE??????

Things are turning I guess... for the better??? I'll let you know if it lasts...

GREETINGS....

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN...

I WILL BE SENDING OUT THE LIST OF ADDRESSES FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE ON THE :santa::santa::santa:CHRISTMAS :santa::santa::santa:CARD EXCHANGE...

IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY ON THE LIST (MEANING YOU DIDN'T GET ANY CARDS LAST YEAR AND WOULD LIKE TO THIS YEAR (KAZ....) PLEASE EMAIL ME AT mbelauzon@hotmail.com

THANK YOU VERY MUCH... & HEY... HAVE A MAGICAL DAY...

Keep your fingers crossed my job search has fired up in the last few days.

Had an interview yesterday will meet with the CEO Monday, also have a phone interview tomorrow for another job. I'm hoping for the first one to come thru - it's part time consulting (read high hourly rate) and it would be in the same space I'm used to technology :thumbsup2

GOOD LUCK! Something's bound to come through for you soon! :goodvibes

Thanks and it looks like it has.

I just had the other phone interview it went well. I hope to hear back soon from them.

AND

I go in Monday morning for the high-tech client job to meet the CEO and most likely walk out working on their needs :thumbsup2

Now the dilemma might be if the 2nd job turns into an offer also

The 2nd job is an offer for employment rather than contracting. So there are real trade offs on each side...

consulting - more money less hours and total control of my time (which means no real worries over the kids schedule/needs) and vaca when ever I want to go (like the TA cruise in April) not reliable and on and off work no benefits, invades personal life/time with family

employement - less money more hours and fixed schedule regular paycheck, beenfits and *easy* work so I don't have to juggle it at home EVER

I've contracted for 13+ years now hard to figure going back in an office everyday but....the work really is a no brainer when someone does all rainmaking on your behalf.

Now if Paul could find something all would be well in our house again :thumbsup2

DO NOT FEEL guilty - As others have mentioned Ian is fine with it and it is a hard job being a mom (& wife) sometimes we women need to get away and have girl time. I went on the Tortola Cruise too ;) I know what you mean about the MIL making comments mine did too

Nan, I don't understand all about your job prospects but I am sure you will work it out and all will be for the best for you!!!

Don't feel guilty about anything - just have fun. The kids and dh will be just fine and probably do things that they couldn't do if you were home!

I am finally at the end of a week that feels about 3 weeks long. It has been such an emotional roller coaster this week.

The more I talk to people around the office, the more it seems that we are all feeling very similar and our perceptions are very similar.

And now at last, I have a week off next week!

Rest this weekend and get better Deborah, in time for your trip. AND, don't feel guilty. Hubby obviously doesn't mind so you should just look forward to it and ENJOY!!

Don't feel guilty! Ian obviously knows how much you've been looking forward to this trip!
Take care of yourself this weekend, so you are healthy and feeling great for your flight on Tuesday!:dance3:

Deb, just wanted to join in with everyone else and wish you a very speedy recovery from your cold  Rest up and feel better, then go and have an awesome trip :cool1: You will have a great time, and Ian will enjoy hearing all of the stories about your adventures when you get home!

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Ian, YOU MADE IT!!! Leave work behind and let the fun begin :woohoo:

::yes:: did you see the chocolate factory in Barcelona??? It's on our list :thumbsup2 What else looked interesting?

thanks for the crossed limbs and luck :thumbsup2

Of course I want to do it all ;) but I am kind of thinking about the Caves and North Coast in Madeira, Jerez and Arcos de la Frontera in Cadiz (sherry tasting, yum!) and Montserrat in Barcelona. This would take up most of the day, but then I'd still have the evening to explore Barcelona :thumbsup2 Of course I want to do the Rock tour in Gibraltor, just not sure how I will manage this one yet, on my own or with the tour :confused3 I know it's cheaper on your own, but I won't take a taxi all by myself...now if I had someone to share it with :rolleyes1

Change is always stressful... you made it and we are all proud.. :thumbsup2 So... lets eat... :goodvibes

Listen to Kathe... she's very wise... :hippie:

Skip the chocolate factory - it's a waste of time!

Do the tour of Gibraltor - it cost the 3 of us $70 and took us everywhere! We got off the ship and walked down the long line of cabs and found a driver we liked(the cabs towards the end of the line you can bargain with more) Don't do the DCL tour because you miss some of the details and the buses can't get to all the places so you are spending time walking that you could be seeing! This was our favorite stop!!!

Cadiz is wonderful - if you have time do the double decker bus tour. It takes about an hour and is excellent. The bus stop is outside the port and cost about $5. You can hop off and on as you want but we did the entire tour and then decided where we wanted to get off.

Deborah, I hope you feel better quickly!

Don't feel guilty about leaving Ian & the kids, you've been looking forward to this trip for a really long time, it's going to be so much fun! You deserve the break! :goodvibes

Woohoo!!! Enjoy the week Ian, you definitely need it! :goodvibes

The mouse traps I set last night went untouched.....well, that's not entirely true, the cheese is GONE from each trap. :headache: Tonight I'm trying peanut butter again. As Tyler was sitting on the floor putting his shoes on, we both watched in shock while a mouse ran across the floor right past him! GROSS!!!! I keep finding empty poison packets but also still mice. I'm wondering how many are here. Tyler's hoping a bunch of traps snap overnight because I told him I'll give him $5 for every mouse if he disposes of each one for me (I have plastic gloves for him to wear). He'll also have to be the one to check the traps in the morning because it just grosses me out. I told my mom about all of this when we were at the Christmas parade tonight. She told me they're in the walls and that I'll have a hard time getting rid of them. I almost cried. I think I need to get an exterminator. But I wonder what more they would do, other than put out poison and traps? This is just disgusting. :sad2:

Super busy day at work today, which was nice because the time flew by. My mom came to town, picked Tyler up from day care, and we all met up at the Christmas parade downtown (and fireworks afterwards). Had a blast, and am super tired.

Tomorrow we're going to kids' day at the Festival of Trees to see what Christmas activities are going on, and will also spend time swimming and rollerblading at the YMCA. :goodvibes

Happy Friday!
It was long crazy day at work, but actually felt good to go to work. Shaelyn is back to normal. It hit her hard and fast, but she's bounced back quickly too!

Tonight was "midnight madness" for our local downtown stores, so we all went to do some Christmas shopping. We got the girls their ornaments for this year (they get a new one every year :) ) and I got a snowbabies dancing with polar bears one which is very cute. And we even managed to get a couple Christmas presents bought plus we got some ideas.

Ian - I hope you enjoy your weekend of Thanksgiving prep :goodvibes

Michelle - we want in on the Christmas list again ::yes::

Holly - I recommend calling an exterminator to get information and prices. Christmas is coming and you really want the classic line to be true (not a creature was stirring not even a mouse ;) )

Nan - you sound positive about the job choices :thumbsup2 Hope you get what you want.

Gotcha Shannon :thumbsup2

& I always get Snowbabies ornaments for my nieces every year... I kidded with them once they hit 18 that I was done... (they didn't go for that!!! :rotfl:)

Michelle - you can't quick once you start a trend! You'll be buying snowbabies forever :goodvibes (and you'll be loving doing it!)
