Well looks like everyone had a pretty enjoyable weekend.
Kaylee - loved your photos and TR. I can understand about Prince Rupert. It is pretty blah for a port. Lots of peope go to PR for the fishing and the scenery, but you have to get out of town for that. Not sure what they have setup for excursions when you were there. The town has gone through some pretty rough times and this new port is slowly bringin new life to the community. Right now however, the focus is on the container port facilities rather than the cruise ship one.
All you WW'ers - good job on all the weight loss stories!!
We had a pretty good weekend here. Even though it started off badly.
On Friday it was a double header of football and my team played in the late game. Well at least it was guys in the uniforms of my team. They played pretty badly and lost the game against a team they should have beat. Think of like your NFL team just lost to the Detroit Lions. Yeah it was bad.
Satuday picked up a bit as we went kayaking (pics to come soon Deb). We went to another nearby lake where a co-worker of Shannon's has her house right on the lake. So we drove to her house put the kayaks in the water. The lake is called Ten Mile Lake and is slightly smaller than the lake we went to last weekend. The weather was perfect for the ayak. No wind. We circumnavigated the entire lake and then let the girls have a little splash around before we called it a day. Bad point is that I pulled something in my right shoulder loading the kayaks onto the van. Still feel it today.
Today was a little lighter day. We were going to do yardwork but changed our minds. Instead Shaelyn and Kaleigh used their easy bake oven to make some cookies. But that ended when Shaelyn tried moving one of the cookie pans with her bare hand and got two of her fingers burned. So that was "exciting". After we got Shaelyn squared away and resting, Shannon and I played a boardgame called "
Android". It was her first time playing so it took some time (about 3-3.5 hrs). But in the end Shannon enjoyed it enough to give it another go possibly next weekend.
This evening we watched a bit of TV and then we taught Shaelyn, who has recovered now and is perfectly fine, how to play a cooperative board game called "
Pandemic". We managed to save the world from the virus outbreaks on the last play of the game.
And now Shannon and I are watching a Viggo Mortenson film called "Eastern Promises". I'm recommending a miss on it. It's pretty slow and pretty graphic on the violence. But it's almost over now and then we are calling it a night.
As for the weather. It was pretty hot and muggy all day today, but tonight we are getting one spectacular light show. I sure hope it isn't starting a bunch of wildfires around here. But it is nice to watch from the comfort of my house.
