Hi Friends....Happy Birthday wishes going out to Lisa and Ken and Cheri. Those hot sultry summer nights produced a lot of May babies! I hope each of you continues to celebrate all month!
So don't cha know....as soon as John put the steak on the barbe....the heavens opened up and it looks like waterworld out there. Fortunately we have a covered front porch.
Thanks to the other Lisa for keeping you all updated on how my week was going. It truely was a week from hell and although I'm doing so much better, I'm not completely out of the woods yet.
Monday afternoon without any warning I started shaking uncontrollably....it was as if I had frostbite....I was frozen to the core and just could not get warmed up. From there I started loosing my cookies. I had a severe stomach flu. My entire body ached horribly. This lasted until Thursday morning when I finally started seeing some improvement. Then I began a diet of clear broth, jello and saltines. John said that in the 19 years that we have been together, he has never seen me this sick before. I had it bad.
I thought I would still be able to make it to the beach this weekend. As my stomach was getting stonger....I developed many fever sores on my lips and a burning feeling on my right leg. Then the leg went beat red and swelled up. Then the muscle pain began and I couldn't put any weight on the leg. By Friday I was on crutches and could not sit up. All I could do was lie flat on my left side and then alternating to my right side. I took some muscle relaxers and began to monitor carefully.
I could not get to a doctor.....I couldn't drive and John was at work. As it was I had to cancel all of Ray's treatments that he was supposed to have this week. There was just no way possible to get it done. I finally started showing some improvement Friday night. I thought the worst was over. Then Sat morning John and I were sitting around having coffee and the leg blew up like a big balloon. I had to lie down again immediately and started using my compression boot. It's a sleve that goes over the leg and has different chambers of air that inflates and deflates to push the fluid out of the leg and back up into the body. Well the compression on the painful leg really does not feel good....but it's a necessary evil because it is working. I'm still on crutches and muscle relaxers and I'm timing how long I sit up for and know that I have to keep it short.
What a week. So we never were able to get to the beach and I lost 75,000 unused priority club points. I missed the ocean and I missed seeing Lisa. I just have to take it one day at a time this next week coming up and hope that it continues to improve.
Din Din is ready....it's my first real meal in almost a week. So much for WW this week. I did weigh in on Friday and didn't expect to see any real results because I'm retaining so much fluid in my really blown up leg....but I was 5 lbs down for the week anyway. It's not a real number coz it came from not eating.![]()
Deb, so sorry. I hope you are feeling better soon.
