Hi Friends....Happy Birthday wishes going out to Lisa and Ken and Cheri. Those hot sultry summer nights produced a lot of May babies! I hope each of you continues to celebrate all month!

So don't cha know....as soon as John put the steak on the barbe....the heavens opened up and it looks like waterworld out there. Fortunately we have a covered front porch.

Thanks to the other Lisa for keeping you all updated on how my week was going. It truely was a week from hell and although I'm doing so much better, I'm not completely out of the woods yet.

Monday afternoon without any warning I started shaking uncontrollably....it was as if I had frostbite....I was frozen to the core and just could not get warmed up. From there I started loosing my cookies. I had a severe stomach flu. My entire body ached horribly. This lasted until Thursday morning when I finally started seeing some improvement. Then I began a diet of clear broth, jello and saltines. John said that in the 19 years that we have been together, he has never seen me this sick before. I had it bad.

I thought I would still be able to make it to the beach this weekend. As my stomach was getting stonger....I developed many fever sores on my lips and a burning feeling on my right leg. Then the leg went beat red and swelled up. Then the muscle pain began and I couldn't put any weight on the leg. By Friday I was on crutches and could not sit up. All I could do was lie flat on my left side and then alternating to my right side. I took some muscle relaxers and began to monitor carefully.

I could not get to a doctor.....I couldn't drive and John was at work. As it was I had to cancel all of Ray's treatments that he was supposed to have this week. There was just no way possible to get it done. I finally started showing some improvement Friday night. I thought the worst was over. Then Sat morning John and I were sitting around having coffee and the leg blew up like a big balloon. I had to lie down again immediately and started using my compression boot. It's a sleve that goes over the leg and has different chambers of air that inflates and deflates to push the fluid out of the leg and back up into the body. Well the compression on the painful leg really does not feel good....but it's a necessary evil because it is working. I'm still on crutches and muscle relaxers and I'm timing how long I sit up for and know that I have to keep it short.

What a week. So we never were able to get to the beach and I lost 75,000 unused priority club points. I missed the ocean and I missed seeing Lisa. I just have to take it one day at a time this next week coming up and hope that it continues to improve.

Din Din is ready....it's my first real meal in almost a week. So much for WW this week. I did weigh in on Friday and didn't expect to see any real results because I'm retaining so much fluid in my really blown up leg....but I was 5 lbs down for the week anyway. It's not a real number coz it came from not eating. :confused3

Deb, so sorry. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I slept in quite late today and did not get up until about 6:30 AM.

Also unfortunately feeling a little under the weather today. I'm hoping I improve a bit because I'd like to out of the house, though it is cooler today (in the mid-60's F) and quite overcast.

Do you have Costco down there in the desert? The reason I ask is because I saw they have cases of Skinny Cows at the one I just came back from.

No Skinny Cows for me, but I did buy 4 cases of Progresso Light Soup.

(Well, you could have fooled me, carrying the 4 cases didn't feel so light)

Sounds like carrying 4 cases of soup is good exercise!

We have no big plans. My mom bought a porch swing at Albertson's so we are going to stop at Wendy's to buy lunch and go to her house to put it together.

We had a bad rainstorm yesterday afternoon AGAIN!!! I hope it doesn't happen again today.

I picked my first tomato yesterday! I have been picking cucumbers for a week already.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

I'm sitting here catching up w/ the DIS, watching another season of Bramwell (as UK show) & cooking up chicken in the crock pot (with BBQ sauce & garlic).

Went to the scrapbook expo on Saturday & got to see Lisa & meet her sister Jen. Trying to catch up on laundry as well. Really glad that we had an extra day off.

:grouphug::grouphug: Deb. Sorry to hear about all your issues. Please take care of yourself.

Happy belated bday to Cheri & Ken.

Marilyn - glad you're finally getting some decent weather :lmao:

Deb, and :grouphug:

I just hauled in a load of groceries. Got my one point bread and english muffins, egg beaters, fresh fruits and veggies, some chicken and a pork chop for grilling, a couple of frozen entrees for emergency lunch packing, 1 and 2 point snacks, some light lunch meat for sandwiches. I'm going for that 10 pound smilie this week (2 pounds). My average has been 1.6 but that includes a vacation week and the subsequent recovery week, so I'm feeling pretty good about that. But now I have all my supplies to be able to check off all those boxes on the WW daily log.

Next task....paying bills (but maybe a nap first )

Daniel is at Dulles Airport waiting for his 10pm flight to France. I tried not to cry when we left him there.....he will have the time of his life.

We had a great # of days at the beach as a family. We have hardly anytime as a family together anymore. All of you with little children....enjoy these times they go by so fast....

Back to work tomorrow......

Lisa... I'm sure it's a chance of a lifetime for him...

And for you...:hug::hug::hug: You'll be ok... :grouphug:

I know I need to cherish my moments with my girls...but let me tell you, it is certainly trying at times, LOL!

Deb...sorry to hear that you are having a hard time! Big hugs and well wishes for a better week.

Happy belated bday Cheri!

Trying to pop in periodically, but there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day!

Hope everyone is doing great.

You're doing great! Keep up the good work! :dance3:

Deb, I'm so sorry to hear about your week.:hug::hug::hug::hug: Your leg, losing your beach weekend and the points, your flu. Good grief! I hope your leg improves soon.

Tyler's dad called and woke me up about 11am yesterday, telling me Tyler's bored and wants to come home. :rotfl2: So he came home and as I was about to fix lunch, he lay on the couch, telling me he didn't sleep well the night before and was really tired. Next thing I knew, he was asleep and slept for FOUR HOURS! Hmm......wonder where he gets that from? :rotfl2:
I tried to wake him a couple times to ask if he wanted lunch and he just GROWLED at me and rolled over and went back to sleep. :rotfl2:

When Tyler finally woke up, we had an early supper and went to a county park called Hawk Island Park. It has a giant playground, a splash pad, a small lake, paddle boats you can rent, covered areas for gatherings, and a path all the way around the lake. It was warm, but not warm enough for water! I have a couple video clips I'll post Wednesday after I get reconnected at home.

YAY!!!! Comcast is coming to hook me up tomorrow night! :cool1: I don't care whether I have cable or not, but want their internet because it was a better deal. For one year, basic cable AND internet is $27.99 and I was paying $24.99 for just internet with AT&T. It was too good to pass up! :dance3:

I weighed in last night to find another 4 pounds lost! Doesn't seem possible though, because my clothes don't fit much differently, they're just not stretched across my.....um.....backside so tightly. I guess maybe I really was just wearing them until they burst! :rotfl: (yes, that did indeed happen to 2 pairs of my pants!)

But I sure don't look 14 pounds lighter. :confused3
