That which doesn't kill us only makes us stronger ....

Or at least that's what I keep saying to myself.

Then why do I feel like roadkill?

Because I'm home and not on an outside schedule....I wait until I'm hungry before I eat. Well it was right around 11am and I was getting very hungry. Before I ate anything, I jumped on the scale again....just because. I went down another 2 lbs from earlier when I weighed myself around 6am. How did that happen??? I already plugged in the 2 lb loss for the week so I'm sticking with that on paper. But it feels really good mentally to think that I could have had a loss of 4 lbs this week. WOW what a difference. Looking at it the way Marilyn does that would be 7 lbs lost in 2 weeks. That I LIKE! Either way it's working and it gives me more incentive to stick with it as a lifer.

I just ordered Richard Simmons' Sit Tight video....all exercises done from a chair. Amazon had it. I love Amazon. At least I can start some form of activity this way. I'm looking forward to it.:yay:

Deb... pick one time to weigh in and keep it the same each week... don't weigh in each day - that will drive you nuts... I like to weith in, in the morning butt naked after I pee...

Hello everyone and happy anniversary. Last year we were celebrating Ethan's birthday at the Nick Hotel. This year we are having a party at Pump-it-up. I guess it can't be great every year. Anyway, I have no time to catch up. I just wanted to send out a shout out to my cruisin homies :grouphug:

oh and Happy Mother's Day

Hi G... & HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN... :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

My weigh in today was a total surprise. I've been doing WW online for 5 weeks. I got a really good number my first week but part of that is because it was losing the weight I put on in DL. This week was my best loss since week 1 and I ate the worst and did the least exercise :confused3. My losses have been 7.1, 0.7, 1.1, 1.3, 2.6. I had started trying to lose weight on my own at the beginning of the year (with some success). This week's loss puts me at 20.5lbs down so far (averages to 5lbs/month:thumbsup2). If I don't get a gain next week, then I'm changing my 15lb ribbon to the 20lb. I don't want to put it on only to have to take it back off. I am really enjoying learning the value of food and the points value of the exercising. I am very lucky that I have a co-worker who has done WW before, and she is happy to share her tips and suggestions on foods that are available at our grocery stores. Ken is supportive at home, dis'ers are supportive here, co-workers are supportive; all of that is making it work for me. My aunt died of cancer a year ago, and my grandma always compared me to my aunt since I was little. I was the oldest granddaughter, that aunt was the oldest daughter, we were similar personalities and interests. We both got university degrees, got married a little older, started having kids around 30, got larger after each pregnancy. At New Year's I realized, I don't want to end up dying of cancer before I have grandchildren, so I want to lose the weight and break the chain. The thought process isn't completely logical, but for me it was mental click that got me motivated. Sorry for the long response, I just started babbling.

You and Bubba are so good to each other :lovestruc I hope the fires calm down and all of you are okay

Way to go Shannon!!! :banana::banana:

Wow, it's your last vacation day already:sad1: I hope you've had lots of fun! Say hi to Cheri and Jackie for me when you get back home :)

Marilyn, I'm trying to get caught up here, sounds like you are having a good trip so far :thumbsup2

I am officially on vacation as of 3:30 pm today :cool1: Got in my car around 4 and couldn't make it turn corners, okay, I could but I really, really, really had to pull on the steering wheel to make it happen. So an hour later, and $35.00 poorer, I'm hoping it's fixed :headache: Luckily there's a car shop just across the parking lot where I work, they said a belt was loose and they thought it had slipped so I had no power steering :confused3 They tightened it and I finally made it home! Hope this isn't an omen of how my vacation will be!

Hugs to everyone struggling with health and weight issues :grouphug:

Lots of extra hugs for all who will have a hard time on Mother's Day :grouphug: My thoughts are with you all.

Kathe

And they are wonderful memories Deb :cloud9: I still can't believe that was my very first cruise and that because of it, and all of you :goodvibes , I now have number 2, 3 and 4 to look forward to :cool1:

Kathe

Have a great time Kathe!!! Wish I could be there...

and it was our first cruise too!!! (What virgins we were!!!)

Holly - too bad you couldn't find another male guinea pig. Can you leave your name at the store so they will call you when they get another one?
I'm not sure, I guess I can call and ask. Good idea, thanks! :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm still awake! It's 2:15am!!! Yikes! I lost track of time, and thought I'd start cleaning the house. Then I got sidetracked because I had to dig up that funny zombie video Ken posted a while ago. "There's a zombie on your lawn, we don't like zombies on the lawn." :rotfl2: Tyler started singing it in the store the other day (well, then of course we both were singing it)! I promised him I'd find it so we can watch it again. It makes me laugh every time! :lmao:

Deb... pick one time to weigh in and keep it the same each week... don't weigh in each day - that will drive you nuts... I like to weith in, in the morning butt naked after I pee...
Um......TMI!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Rats! Now that I stayed up almost later than I ever have, I'll probably sleep all day and will have to rush around cleaning Saturday night. ;) Oh well, it won't be too bad because Tyler will clean the living room and his bedroom, I'll do the kitchen and bathroom. :thumbsup2

Thanks Deb  Okay, it's not an omen  And you are right, I am so lucky to be going to the happiest place on earth :goodvibes (other than on the Magic, of course ;) ) And I am so looking forward to meeting up with Gydell and her family, Monica, Connie, Chuck and Patrick, Marilyn and John and Lisa and Darrell ! I hope I haven't forgotten anyone, I have been up since 5:00 this morning and am getting weary! (and old)

Ian and Marilyn, how did your breakfast meet go? Or was it lunch? See...I'm getting old :confused3

Has anyone heard from Monica lately? I sure hope she's feeling better and enjoying the rest of her cruise.

Kathe

Ian, I think it's amazing that you were able to visit every restaurant! Will the menus be uploaded to Mouse Manager? Do any of the menus have nutritional info? I only ask because I'm starting to worry about what I'll eat on vacation.

On about three occassions I tried to get nutritional info out of Disney but just got a big run around, and being passé into black holes. I finally got the hint.

The menus on Mouse Manager will be updated by hand, so it all depends on he much they have changed. Typically it's only the prices that change, thought as often the prices are increases and the sophistication of the ingredients and side dishes are decreased.

Probably the most stable value in WDW is Victoria & Albert's.

I know a lot about Disney menus!

Ian - I hope Sukie feels better tomorrow; it's no fun having cold when you have to fly. What was the Indian dish that Sukie ordered?

It was a vegetable biryani, but it was encase in pastry like a Cornish pasty. I tasted it and agreed with home that it didn't taste very good.

You all might be tired of hearing about our little rodent, but I had so much fun tonight, I just have to share. I found this cute little bed thing for him to curl up in, it's just like a dog or cat bed, but much smaller of course. I cleaned his cage today and put that in there. He was so funny, he had no idea what to do with it! I put him in it a couple of times, but he was having more fun jumping into it from the litter tray, then running around to do it again. I thought it might be in the way of where he likes to run around, so I moved it to another corner. He immediately ran over, shoved his nose underneath, flipped it and started trying to push it back to where I'd originally put it. :rotfl2: I'm trying to stay awake long enough to load a couple little video clips of him having fun tonight. ;)

Sad news, I can't find another male guinea pig anywhere in town. Not even at the shelters. All the pet stores have females, or the males they have are much older than him, twice his size, so I'd worry about them fighting and him getting hurt because he's so little still.

You really are having fun with your piggie aren't you? Sorry there aren't any other males around. Keep looking.

Deborah, have a good weekend in Glasgow.

Ian, hope you have a good journey home. Good meeting you again.

You're not rid of us yet, there's still September!

(By the way, we had some tea on the room and it was lovely. )

(Also, we heard some people on the AK tram, and barely made out that they were speaking Emglish. Sukie wants to know if there's anyone left in upper most North Yorkshire, or are they all ok holiday in Florida?)

I think the results of our "naked" dining are in. We spent $75 less than we would have with the dining plan, though mind you, we did alter our plans twice, choosing something simpler and cheaper.

Also between all the sodas and snacks we had, we would have had far more than the two snacks a day allotted for on the plan.

I think what we like best was the freedom to choose what we wanted, which also meant NOT eating things (like desserts we didn't want) because we felt that we had "paid" for them.

We really liked the overall feeling of flexibility.

Did we board last year on Saturday? Has it really been 1 year?

Daniel is still in Blacksburg taking exams. He comes home on Tuesday.

Holly,

We won mycoke yesterday. That makes 5 wins for a total of $100. Daniel loves the extra spending money!!

Have you won lately? Are you still playing?

Glad you enjoyed the tea. It is actually made in Harrogate at a specialist food place.

Yes, plenty of Yorkshire folk here - but one or two back home still. Wait till the summer though and everyone but us two are over here.;)

I so agree. I enjoy the flexibility and not being forced to eat so much. I have no willpower!!

Yes, day wise it is a year ago today Saturday, but date wise a year ago tomorrow. 1 whole year.:confused3

I bet you are looking forward to a whole summer having Daniel home.

That stinks that Disney won't share that info. I guess I can understand why though. They want to make sure people are still spending that money in the parks.

Yes, he's very fun and cute! I heard him this morning acting crazy and running laps in his cage. ;) My mom is going to see if she can find a male in Kalamazoo where she lives and bring him tomorrow when she comes to town. :thumbsup2

That definitely sounds the way to go. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us all. :goodvibes

CONGRATS! No, I haven't won recently. I've been forgetting to play. But my total was 6 or 7 wins, I lost count. :goodvibes Now I've been doing BOTH of their games that are on the same page because you can do two times a day each. :thumbsup2
