Yeah... we love you too... now get over it... (I've been hanging out with Ian too much... :rotfl:)

Deb... write a nice letter to your Senator/congressman... I did it when I fought for SS and it was AMAZING how fast the departments respond to their inquiries... :thumbsup2

I never thought of that....I will try it. Cool.

I think the results of our "naked" dining are in. We spent $75 less than we would have with the dining plan, though mind you, we did alter our plans twice, choosing something simpler and cheaper.

Also between all the sodas and snacks we had, we would have had far more than the two snacks a day allotted for on the plan.

I think what we like best was the freedom to choose what we wanted, which also meant NOT eating things (like desserts we didn't want) because we felt that we had "paid" for them.

We really liked the overall feeling of flexibility.

I'm glad you made the right choice for yourselves:thumbsup2 Since I have had the dining card the last few years, I have enjoyed eating as I please too...and saving as I go! Since this is my first trip using the dining plan, I am actually looking forward to "having" to eat those desserts ;)And I'll still be able to save with my dining card on all the fruity, boozy drinks! Of course, I'll be joining WW this summer too to get all the weight I'm going to gain off!

I haven't heard you mention the new restaurant/margarita bar that was supposed to be opening in DD in early May :confused3 I guess it's not going to be open for my trip

I so wish it was today we were setting sail. There are so many things I would do different.

Me too!!! I would have made an appointment to spend more time with more people. I would have skipped all the mexican ports except for Cabo, I would have went to a hotel on the beach in Aruba, I would have gone to Rockin Bar D more and I would have done the Old Geezers meets at the Quiet Cove Cafe.....but it was still awesome.....it just went by too fast.

Imagine if we get to do a repeat with a lot of the same people on the Wonder. We know each other SO much better now. Imagine taking the BEST vacation EVER and turning it up a notch!!!:cool1::cool1:

I did think more of the PC Thieves would pop in and say hi - even some of those who never posted since getting off the ship.

Perhaps tomorrow.

Oh wouldn't that be fun!!! I hope some do come here and say hi too.

Final report from Eastwood Manor:

Ian & Sukie should be home any time now. I've had a great time with the doggies! They're as sweet as can be and I'm going to miss the little rascals!

Thursday I went to the Field Museum. I only had about 2.5 hrs. there, most of which I spent going through a special show they're having on Pirates. But I did get to see Sue, the T-Rex, which was very impressive! That night I went out to dinner with the daughter of a friend from Prescott.

Yesterday I got my nails done and took in more of the neighborhood, Lincoln Square. Had a gyro for lunch at an outdoor Greek place. It was a very nice day, warm and mostly sunny. I met up with Jackie and Diane about 4. We went to a gallery where Diane's watercolors were showing, then dinner at a Pizza/Italian place. Then they came over here to meet T & T.

Today is pretty windy and chilly. I've been doing laundry, getting packed and copying CDs from Sukie's vast collection. Tonight we're all going out to dinner, I think Italian, here in the neighborhood.

I've had a great time and have fallen in love with T & T. Chicago is a wonderful city and there's a lot I have yet to see. Hopefully I'll be back another time!:thumbsup2

I'm glad you've had such a great working holiday Cheri :thumbsup2 Don't worry, I'll bet you get invited back again!!!

Thanks Michelle! I am just about packed, just a few things to finish throwing in tomorrow. I'm going out to dinner for Mother's Day with my daughter and her husband and my parents, then early to bed, I will be getting picked up at 4:00 AM Monday

I bought my travel insurance today for cruise number 2 and 3 , and am going to pay for the cruises in full tomorrow, that means I'm really going to be back on the Magic again in Sept:cool1:

Hope your mom enjoys her birthday week!

You are sooooo funny. The last time you cooked was 6 years ago and you made a whole Turkey dinner in Spring. That's hysterical. It sounds like me. I did ocassionally cook way way back when....once a year I would do a full course meal from scratch....just because....when I lived alone. Since I'm married I have cooked meat loaf from time to time and I think that's all. Oh, I have made potatoe salad and my tuna salad rocks. I think that's it.
The cooking topic came up AGAIN when we went across the street to one of our neighbors' house tonight. When the mom of the family heard I don't cook at all, she said, "Holly, that's TERRIBLE" and she leaned down and whispered to Tyler, "You come over here for dinner any time you want!" And the dad said, "Even better, send your mom over here and she can learn to cook with us!" :rotfl2: I told them my plan is to start this week. :thumbsup2

Anyway... the best stuck together and we are who we are... THIEVES!!!! pirate:

I AAAAAAARRRG Agree!!!

Planky found it... he can't bounce around too much either and you know that freshman 15??? He's been sneaking stuff out of the fridge for months now... :scared:

Lucy SPLAIN please......I get that Planky found it.....I get that he can't bounce around too much.....I DO NOT know that freshman 15??? And what does he do with the stuff that he sneaks out of the fridge???
:confused3

Happy Saturday to everybody! The girls and I were off to the pool for swimming and added our names to list of people being active. Today is the activity battle between our town and the one south of us. They are recording how many minutes of activity in a "get active, get healthy" theme. We did our share with 2hours in the pool :thumbsup2, and now the 3 of us will go for a nap. :cloud9: Then I'm going to finish putting together Shaelyn's new dresser and then pack up to go to my mom's for the night. We'll see Ken in the movie and then come home in the afternoon, so I can get other work done.

I hope everybody has a great weekend!

Have a great weekend Shannon! Sounds like you are super busy! I love the idea of the activity battle, what a great, fun way to get people out and moving!

Kathe

Deb... if you want... I'll write it for you... I have an acid pen... :thumbsup2

Awesome! I would love it, if you don't mind. Just leave blanks where you're not sure of facts and I'll fill them in....like dates and such.

PM me any questions you have.

Thank you so much for taking this on Michelle. I was wondering when I would have time this month with Ray's activities. I really really appreciate it and I will be so happy to have it. Hugs, hugs, hugs.:hug::hug:

My mom frustrates the heck out of me. :headache: She just e-mailed me telling me she's changed her mind and won't be coming tomorrow because she has to do yardwork. I responded that we'd be happy to come help her, but I'm sure she'll say no to that. Tyler was really looking forward to her visit. :sad2:

 Holly, I'm so sorry she does this to you :headache: Remember it's your day tomorrow too, Tyler may be dissappointed right now, but I know he will enjoy tomorrow just with you, if that's what ends up happening. You always make sure you have good times together

Wow, you're getting it from all angles today! I hope you enjoy cooking this week. On WW I cook veggies in the microwave, WW diners in the microwave, green salads, cereal, and english muffins (I get the multi grains-1 pt). I buy precut celery and carrots and fruit in cups. WW really does make it so easy to eat healthy without cooking.

John makes one crock pot meal a week. Last week was boneless, skinless chicken breasts cooked in broth with tomatoes. He also made brown rice and red beans. I only had to microwave it.

This week he's making boneless lean pork chops in broth with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes. I get to microwave it.

John likes to cook with the slow cooker because he throws everything into the pot and walks away.....he does it on weekends. I like to eat what John cooks in the pot. Yum!

Talk about going with the flow.....you really gotta be flexible with her in your life. Well, just chalk it up and have a great one on one with Tyler for mom's day. It'll be special.

Yum from me too!!!

I didn't have much luck when ought a crock pot and tried a few recipes. I'm not sure I had the right setting, but the 2 or 3 things I tried were tough!!! So, I gave up. I do love that type of food though.

Hi Marilyn.....happy one year anniversary THIEF!!! AAARRG!!!

I have NO idea how it works. I just know John puts it all in the pot and turns it on. Then about 6-8 hrs. later, it's done. It's good because it's tender and juicy and full of flavor and the smell permeates through the house for the last couple of hours while it's cooking. It's so good.
