I completely forgot about Niagara Falls when I was listing of things to see :lmao: Probably because I've never seen it.

He got the job and got the flat but we won't stay in his flat as no room for us we know that...

Ian thought why not....

wait and see next year and I let you know ...maybe we meet up?? who know...

I have!!! ;)

No big deal.

Just turn on the tap at home and put your face real close. Same concept. And besides, at Niagara you can't see the "backside of water"!! :cool2:

I told Ian that flight are expensive for flight to Canada as same price for Australia...

I don't know why Canada flight are more expensive than USA?

Ian don't realised that...

Oh well wait until next year before he make up his mind... Australia or Canada?

Neither! Panama Canal cruise 2011! ;)

Way to go Holly! I was wondering how you were doing with the exercising, since you haven't mentioned it in a while. This might be the boost you need.
My motivation went away, so no exercising for quite some time. :guilty: Just watching the scale go up and up. :sad2: Hopefully this will help. It looks so fun, and it must be because it's a super busy place. I told the owner I'd feel more comfortable just jumping into class, rather than doing one-on-one. I just felt too embarrassed. He's fine with that, gave me a uniform, I ordered all my gear, and start tonight at 7:30! Tyler thought it was hilarious that I had to order all the same gear and weapons that he has! :rotfl2: He asked me if I'll be sparring like him and I told him the adults do everything the kids do, but just much faster and harder and longer....and with lots of cardio thrown in. :thumbsup2 Another difference is that when kids do sparring, it's no contact (except for tournaments), but for adults, it's full contact. Good thing my insurance started this month! ;)

I heard the Turtle Farm on Grand Cayman bred the turtles for eating.:guilty: Not sure I want to visit in September.

far back in my brain it tells me that they aren't doing that anymore. but you can't quote me. I might have just thought that up to avoid reality, kwim :rolleyes1

Bubba, Shannon, Nan, thank you! :goodvibes I tend to sort of take for granted the stuff going on with him at school since it's just a regular occurrence for us. I guess it sort of becomes normal in my mind, but in reality, it isn't normal (I know that, but forget since we deal with it regularly). Thanks for reminding me of the important points I felt in the beginning about this. You all are correct, I just need reminding. It's difficult when you soooo badly want your kid to do normal things with normal kids. :guilty:

Thank you all. :grouphug:

Holly, Tyler is as normal a kid as any one of ours on this thread. He just needs some extra help in working out some stuff in his head/body right now. I know what you are talking about, that feeling that you want your kid to have all the experiences that other kids you hear about have. But every kid is different and they all need to have what is geared towards them. Willie has had the option to go to camp for 3 years now, and I forced him to bible camp last summer, while he was ok there, he does not want to go again. point is camp isn't for everyone. Maybe camp isn't be the be all end all for Tyler either. Just because it was fun for his dad doesn't mean it will be the same for him. I've also wished that Molly could do the sports that her friends do, but she can't, she just isn't coordinated enough, no matter how many "extra" OT classes she got, she still doesn't have the brain connections to make it work in her body. I have to let it go, she won't do many of the sports that I loved as a young girl and that makes me sad :sad2: I'd look for things that he likes and zone in on that. Remember that lego thing he did at boy scouts, maybe a lego day camp (they offer those around here, check online) that might be a much easier social setting for him. (just an idea) You are feeling the way all parents feel, you just want the world for your kid. Remember part of being a good parent is helping your child learn how to adapt and grown into a being a contributing member in within the boundaries of society. You are doing that for him, one day at a time...

Photo of the Day

Of all people Richard Simmons was in the train station under our office building this morning. It was a promotion for a new Oceanspray juice drink.

And so ... here I am with a co-worker and Richard Simmons.

(Oh, Richard Simmons is the one in the middle.)

Trouble that I don't know anything about Canada...
Scottishwee35

CANADA IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO VISIT!!!! There's so much there I haven't seen yet......you really have to choose an area and do some research on it......it's a BIG country!

Diversions! I don't even remember seeing you, but I think you told me before that I looked frazzled. :rotfl2: I was that way pretty much the whole cruise! ;) Hmm.....maybe I shouldn't take Tyler with me!

Ya like he's gonna let that happen ;)

All very lovely places to go.....so much to see, so much to do!

Well Shannon and I are planning on taking the PC repo again in 2011. Marilyn has stated she wants to as well. A few others have already bailed on the idea of a reunion cruise - but heck - their loss ;)

I was thinking, if it is during the school year again, I might not be able to go if I get this job permanently :scared1: Jon said he would send a postcard :sad1:

Gaylean - did you enjoy your Mexican vacation?

Speaking of that........

OK, you all might think I'm crazy, but I've had a change of heart about Tyler going to camp. I've been thinking about it a lot and I had a long talk with Tyler about it over dinner. I just started by asking him if he's sure he wants to try camp, we talked about his first attempt at an overnight (on the PC cruise) when he got kicked out around 1am, talked about his reaction to unfamiliar situations and chaos and stress, etc., talked about how he usually reacts when in those situations, and also the possibility of him being asked to leave if he gets out of control and too aggressive. I reminded him how sad he was when he was kicked out of the overnight on the cruise. He assures me he wouldn't let him bother him too much because he would know he can just try again next year. He seems pretty confident he can make it, and is fully aware of his issues and behaviors.

But here's the important part.....a part I somehow had forgotten about before, or maybe was too focused on not wanting him to go, I don't know, but Tyler asked me if he could try the THREE DAY camp the first time. I'd totally forgotten about that option! So I agreed and told him I'd tell his dad tomorrow. It's 6/25-7/1.

Am I crazy for letting him do this? No matter what happens, its only 3 days, so if things go badly, he doesn't have to go again. And if he loves it and does well, I'll let him go for 1 week next year and 2 the following IF he wants to.

I hate that his dad will feel a sense of victory. ;) But Tyler's ecstatic, so that's all that matters.

Ya, you're crazy.

Sounds like you had a great day Jackie :thumbsup2 I discovered on our cruise at the martini tasting that I don't like them, I'd rather have the margarita. I think they have opened a new margarita bar at DD?? I will definately be checking it out in May :woohoo:

Kathe

Margaritas and dark beer...I love you more and more everyday :thumbsup2
