A little joke worth sharing.

Cup of Tea

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.
Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.

Then she says, (as only a mother would know... :) )

"Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet? "

I'm sorry to hear this. It seems like things would get better as he got to know the kids and the teachers :confused3

His OT told me it's usually the opposite because kids try super hard when they're in an unfamiliar environment, but then when they start feeling comfortable with new people, they feel they can relax a bit and not work so hard trying to stay in control all day.

So he's not doing much schoolwork anymore because the anger episodes get in the way and that takes up all his time. :headache: But I'm not going to stress out over it unless the school starts calling me every day like before. :headache: For now I'll just keep waiting to see what happens. I'm sure they'll keep trying different techniques to see what works and doesn't work for him.

Every teacher has those kids, don't worry about that. He is going to learn how to behave. I was an aide last week for a kid that was approved for a one-on-one aide. He was a 6th grader and he was approved for this kind of aide when he was little. It was THE most boring job ever because he didn't need it anymore. I didn't do one thing with him. The teacher told me that he used to throw fits and throw things but he hasn't done it for a couple of years.

And I think as he gets older, he'll be more able to control himself and might learn to figure out what sets him off and how to deal with it. :thumbsup2

I'm NOT a happy camper. As soon as we got home today, I started building the lego castle set Tyler bought the other day. After about a half hour I had to take a break so we could have supper. Then I spent another 2 hours on it. :headache: No way was I in the mood to try to start putting together my TV stand. THEN I turn on the TV to watch Biggest Loser to find that I don't have that station any more for some reason. I'm ready to just go to bed and have this day be over.

Our local station went digital only TODAY instead of in June. Maybe this happened to your station.Do you have cable? Not sure how the whole thing is supposed to work. Ian????

I don't have cable, but supposedly if you have the converter box or a new TV you're supposed to be able to see those channels that go digital. Tyler's PBS channel that he watches all his shows on went digital last month, so we didn't have it, but got it back when I got the new TV. Figured I should be able to get NBC.

But even if you have a new tv, you have to get the digital signal to the tv, right? So if no cable, don't you have to have a new box or satelite dish service?:confused3

I have no idea, but when they started having people get "the box", they said it's for older TVs. I think most TVs sold now are digital, and if they're not, they're required to put a sticker or label on it saying it's not digital and no good for the transition to digital unless used with a converter box. My last TV had a sticker on it that said this.

The digital channels can come through if you're not signed up for cable. Most of the stations I get are digital. :thumbsup2 I'm fuzzy on how it works still.

Oh my gosh, I finally found where I want to stay for our trip in June: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/DISCV/at-a-glance?start=1
They have 10 pools, a lazy river, it's right next to AK at WDW (or so they say), and looks so relaxing! So beautiful! And very inexpensive. I'm ready to book, but am just waiting to hear from Heather on whether they want to stay with us in one of the suites or if we'll just book separate rooms in case they can't stay the whole time that we're staying. :goodvibes

I get why you would need a box with an old analog tv. But we have had an HD digital capable tv for years, and I don't think if we unhook the cable that we will get much. I'm pretty sure digital has to come through a cable, but not sure. IAN, CAN YOU SPLAIN IT TO US?

Leaving out the sugar would reduce the recipe by 1.5 points.

Well, in the interest of all my friends here, the inquiring minds that want to know, I just made the coffee mug chocolate cake with Splenda and it turned out quite good.

Don't thank me, I'm happy to make such sacrifices for those I care about.:thumbsup2

I still put the marshmallows on top

OK, I have to go to bed because that's the only way I can stop myself from eating. My binges are back, and I just ate a whole 13 oz. bag of tortilla chips with a whole jar of salsa, and then a whole bag of Brach's Hawaiian Punch flavor jelly beans. Plus too many bagels and Poptarts to even remember while at work today. Like I always tell Tyler, tomorrow is a brand new day and a brand new chance to try to start being better. :guilty:

Well, there is a cable that's plugged into the antenna which is plugged into the DVD player and the DVD player plugs into the TV. :rotfl2: Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be plugged in, but I just kept trying different things until it worked. :rotfl: I'm VERY techno-challenged! :lmao:

And I think Ian's ignoring us. ;)

:rotfl2:And we appreciate your sacrifice in the name of research! :rotfl:

I'm just glad I don't have ANY of those ingredients, otherwise that would be very dangerous in the middle of this current binge! :scared1: ;)
