Thanks V. I'm not sure there's anything they can do to help him turn things around, but just try to cope with him, I don't know. Last week his teacher was telling me about one child who she was happy to see move on after 4th grade.

I don't think he was calmed down, but at least they can handle him and not have me leave work. The physical restraint part, in the padded room, just makes me feel sad for him.

Yup, I'll share this info with his dad, but am dreading that. His response will be, "I wonder why he's doing this?" Because he thinks it all went away. I hate having to deal with his denial, but I guess I should be used to it by now.

Holly, maybe it is better that Chuck learn about it first hand from the school, rather than you. I know lots of school situtations where both parents need to be "educated" on behalf of their child due to divorce and such. It really doesn't need to be your weight to carry to make sure he is imformed. It seems like a lot of your stress is from having to keep him looped in this stuff. He is Tyler's dad and you know he wants to be involved in his life, so all the better to let him be involved first hand. Just a thought to share with you. And we are here

Well, I not sure the teachers have time to call both of us to repeat the same thing. But maybe if he were to pick up the phone and call the school to ask.

Gaylean - girls and clothes can be so frustrating. I've had some arguments with mine. I've learned that if they pick it and it doesn't match, it doesn't matter. Like Nan said, people just assume the kid picked their own clothes. Last week Shaelyn wore the same outfit for 3 days in a row because she really likes it. Last night I told them to pick their clothes out for today. Kaleigh said she wanted to wear the same clothes, but then changed her mind this morning. She was told to pick fast or she's going in her jammies. She wanted to wear a summer dress and I said no. Then she was still going slow, so I went back and told her to pick fast or Mommy's picking and I start counting. If she's not moving by count of 3 she knows I will pick. So you're not alone in the frustration.

Holly I want to tell you that I am thinking of you and try not to worry too much.. I know easy for me to saying that ...

I was thinking that my good friend have son Ben same aged Keith.. To be honest, he was so horror boy when he was 2 years old... I remeber my son had enough with him, he put him down flat, .... but they still best friend....

Now Ben is very calm, clever, quiet boy I cannot believe that maybe he grown out of it... he will be 12 this year...

Maybe Tyler will be calm when older I am sure....

Just want to hug you (sorry logo is not working)...on PC... grrr

I highly recommend making kids pick out their clothes the night before. Our mornings go much smoother when the kids aren't taking forever deciding what to do.

You have the kids pick out their outfits for the week in advance (which I can already see there could be problems with, weather changing, etc. however...) then you hang these little felt banners on each hanger to code them, Mon., Tues, etc. I'm doing a bad job describing it so go to the link before you dismiss the idea!

I was thinking that the novelty of having the felt banners on the outfit might be engaging enough to have the kid buy into it.

But as I'm talking about it, I thought of a way to modify it where you'd have the kid just put outfits together in advance, not for any particular day, just favorite outfits all ready to be chosen and put on. To carry it further, you could have warm day outfits, chilly day outfits, rainy day outfits, etc. depending on how much you wanted to get into it.

I'm not a mom, but speaking as a teacher I want to reassure you Gayleen, that there are so many things to think about that the quality of a kid's outfits aren't that big a deal! Also, if you're really concerned, just let the teacher in on what's going on and I know he/she would be supportive as you work this clothes situation out.

Something else I thought of, I wonder if Brooke senses how much this whole thing riles you and that is making her take such a stand on it. If you backed away and didn't engage with her, the whole situation might just dissipate.

Deborah, I've been having tons of weird, crazy dreams for the last few weeks! I don't know what it's about, but it's wearing me out. I wake up and feel like I've spent the whole night watching a really intense movie!

I can't remember the amount of sugar, but it would knock out some points.

1.5 tablespoons of sugar.

I also wondered if you could sub applesauce for the oil. Aren't there different things to use in place of oil?

That reminds me. I had quite a long chat with Noel on Facebook the other day. She and the family are well. John is travelling in Asia a lot, so they haven't planned any cruises. She did say she would look at those some of us are going on though. We had quite a deep chat about the economy - wekk deep for me that is.
