also Haley's bday is next TUESDAY! I have not done a thing, my mom of course wants me to have a party, but we didn;t for samantha so I feel bad about that.

As Ken will tell you, we do go out. Actually, you acclimate to the climate. I'm sure to Ken and Shannon, 33F feels really mild after the more harsh temperatures they've been having.

T-shirt and Shorts weather!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Look at you two Deb and John!!! So sweet!!! A young John without a beard. Has he always had a beard whilst you have known him?

Good Evening Marilyn....it's getting late for you. Has John had any luck with his cancelled flight? The snow is beautiful as long as you don't have to go out and get anything done in it. Unless you live with a lot of it all winter long like Ken and Shannon and Ian and Sukie and Holly and Michelle and us too.

Hahaha....those pictures look so funny now. John did not have a beard one time while we're together.....he kept his mustache though. It didn't last long, he likes the beard better and so do I. Sometimes it's been more and sometimes less of it on his face, but always there.

Deb, John cancelled the trip as the first flight they could have changed him to would be 7am tomorrow, and it is going to be worse by then. There is one tomorrow evening, but he wouldn't have time to get everything done on the Wednesday morning befoe coming home!!!

He doesn't mind too much, but of course there are missed business opportunities.

It is snowing heavier now, and we are supposed to have another 6" - 12" by morning. it does look nice however!!!

Is this the worst your legs have been? Will you start to have home care again? What will take to really get them better?

Hi Lisa, glad that you got Gretchen to the doctor today. Hope she feels better quickly.

No, this is not the worst my legs have ever been. They were worse a year and a half ago after mom's funeral when I had to go into the hospital because I had cellulitis.

I like this doctor so much better though. I have more confidence in him. I won't need home care by an outside source. John helps me. He's been doing it for all this time. My brother calls him the wound care specialist.

The one focus I have to get them better is to get rid of the edema. Then they will heal. I need to lie flat so that I can get the circulation flowing. The wound specialist and my GP both told me the same thing. I need to lie flat in order to promote good circulation into my lower extremities....then the edema will go away.

Oh, DEB! I am so sorry you are in so much pain! I wish I had some suggestions for you, but your doctor seems to have a handle on it. Have they ever really figured out how to completely repair your edema and heal all the sores so that you can carry on from there? Is it poor circulation? I have such terrible varicose veins that I often worry if they become open.

Keep up the good work, and do what the doctor says.....I hope you feel better soon!
Here's a cheer! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Go Deb,Go!!!

Hi Connie...thanks for the cheers!!! You got it so right....it's bad circulation that's causing the edema. Once we fix that, we'll fix all the other problems too.

I laid flat for the first half of the game last night. I couldn't do it any longer because my back was killing me and I couldn't breath anymore because of sinus problems. I put in another hour and a half later on after the game and then another hour later after that.....for a total of 4 hours last night. That's better. So far I did an hour today. I have to do more. I just have to break it up in intervals because I can't do it for any length of time. We'll see if it works.

Tylenol is only one among many popular medications containing acetaminophen, but few users realize that it is contained in hundreds of other pain relievers and cold remedies, and that combined usage has a cummulative effect. Fifteen percent of accidental overdoses involve the simultaneous use of more than one product containing acetaminophen.[19] Products from common brands include acetaminophen: Excedrin, Midol, Theraflu, Alka-Seltzer and NyQuil, as well as prescription narcotics such as Vicodin and Percocet. Following the recommended dosages for each, but in combination can far exceed safe limits for acetaminophen intake.[20] The manufacturers of Tylenol recommend, "You should not take two or more products that contain acetaminophen at the same time." [21]

Kelly - thanks for the info.

I broke my ankle and was on vicodin - when that started to make me too nauseaus they told me to take tylenol instead.

2-3 weeks later I had blood work done - my liver panel came back as that of a heavy drinker/drug user. Since I had the same bloodwork done 6 months earlier and my liver was fine then they said it was probably a lab error. I wonder if it was actually from all the acetominophen.

Would you like me to lend you a shovel? (Just remember, a good corn broom is what to use on the front steps).

It's those "lab errors" that have (in part) led to so much research about this subject. The majority of these overdoses and toxic livers are almost all accidental. You'll probably never get the correct answer.

By the way all you snow people - you are making our news here.

Not from that long ago (~12 years) but it seems like another lifetime

since I know this scanning from my office works easy I'll dig out more tomorrow...;)

Nan, you look like such an innocent young maid.

Paul has aged very well.

I was out pulling weeds at 3PM....but just did my tiny front yard, because I got TOO HOT!

Keep talking.

I'd be very careful if I were you, when you come into our house to visit Cheri, Tallulah may very well stick out a paw and try to trip you.

AND I have my windows open AND one of my neighbors is cooking on the grill and the smell is HEAVENLY and I want some STEAK now!

AND I went to a movie this afternoon (Bride Wars) AND sat on the patio of Starbucks and had an ICED coffee......

Oh please, Tallulah is going to LOVE me. All animals love me. The birds fly down from the trees and sit on my shoulder and seranade me. The butterflies land on my fingers like pieces of colorful jewelry.

Oh, I think the country has closed down!!:confused3 John is supposed to fly to Amsterdam at 6pm, but it is looking doubtful. Trouble is you just don't know what to do. The airport is making an annoncememt shortly. At the moment all flights are grounded.

I don't know about you guys... a couple of snow flurries and you cancel everything... I told you... CHOCOLATE... get CHOCOLATE and you can survive almost anything!!! ;) ;)

Hi Michelle!

We are cruising with HAL on 22 July from Vancouver, will be on the cruise for our 40th anniversary.
Our back yard looks like yours this morning, I think the last time we had this much snow was 1987!

Ann

Hi Ann!

Mom and I are thinking of doing a RC cruise/tour out of Anchorage on June 9th (trying to figure out flights to Alaska is going to be crazy...) First 3 days will be at Denali then on the Radiance and then hopefully a visit with Ken and Shannon in Vancouver... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Can you please PM me your email??? I'll scan the picture in from Acapulco and send it to you...

And don't worry... spring is coming no matter what that darned groundhog said today...

Kathe,

I hope you're feeling better. A bit milder weather is coming this week. It's going to be in the mid to upper 20's here this week and by Thursday, it's supposed to get up to 43F! So, hopefully some of that will float your way.

YEAH!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Cause then it comes MY way!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Is Wilson smiling or crying?

Smiling Silly... That's the "Mom...if I smile like this... you're destined to put it on the internet someday and I can then bribe you into getting my ANY accessory for my cart I want... right MOM????" :upsidedow

To my Great Britian friends:

You have made our news here just now. Your snow storm sounds HUGE!! I hope you are enjoying it...they said it is like this only every 18 years!!
