Don just called and said Frank finally woke up!! I will call him soon. He is sore!!

They are TEENAGERS!! Of course they are swimming in the Rip Tide....They are crazy!! The beach in Bethany is well guarded and there has not been a death since the beach has been guarded ... like 100 years or something!

What a great Mommy you are! If Tyler had angry, judgmental parents he would have so much more trouble dealing with the world. He is so fortunate to have a Mom who loves and accepts him while trying to help him do better. It is hard to be Tyler some of the time, but knowing how much he is loved has GOT to make a difference when everything else seems to be crashing in on him inspite of himself.

Tyler is blessed.

OK, I can't sit here in my wet & sweaty clothes anymore. After mowing I pulled tons and tons of weeds until the mosquitos started buzzing around me. I'm sore and sweaty and need a nice shower. Then I'll be back later while I'm playing around with photos.

Not caught up from last night yet, but wanted to fill you all in on my latest adventure.


I was in a car accident last night on the way home from work. Got hit by a red light running, DUI, hit and run dude. Rolled my car and I got up and walked away from the accident! SOMEONE was watching out for me, that's for sure. REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR SEAT BELTS! The police did get the guy...he fled the car on foot but, I believe, walked back (I'm thinking in his state he panicked, then realized what he was doing.) I just have one bruise on my right hip area...from my seat buckle I think. Either that or my PassPorter flew around and hit me there.

I'm expecting I'll be pretty stiff tomorrow, that's for sure. Funny thing...my right hip and leg that had been bothering me all week....feels fine. I must have gotten a chiropractic adjustment in the tumble!

The police woman who was with me through the whole process said I was so lucky that she wanted to go in a lottery ticket with me.


.....see, I just knew I should have stayed on the DIS a little bit longer yesterday evening......

I haven't been on to check how everyone's been doing for a long time!

Did anyone watch the DCL special on Travel Channel last night?

I taped it......

We have been so busy this summer! Got a place for my mom to rent for a month in an "over 55" mobile home community in St. Cloud called Sugar Mill....it seems like a nice place to live, but the mobile homes are not what my mom would like.....she's been having trouble with high blood pressure and anxiety attacks at night....she has actually called 911 twice and gone to the emergency room!

She called me at 6 am the other day because of the attacks.....but she's starting to learn how to handle them herself....BUT she has to move over closer to me! Our next project is finding somewhere for her to live permanently....she's not ready for assisted living quite yet.

Also, we decide to do some re-decorating around here, and we were discussing painting our room, and Patrick pipes up that he wants his room painted RED! He likes the color of the accent wall in the family room, so we painted one wall barn red and the other walls a nice golden yellow....very cheerful! He love ist! We also got a daybed for the computer room to replace the old saggy futon we have had for 10 years....we are giving that to Mike for his new apartement at colled! Oh, boy, we can get rid of lots of stuff for him to take! Yeah!

Hi Connie, sounds like you're having a busy summer! I'll be at WDW in Oct and am hoping to arrange a mini-meet , are you interested?

He'll be excited to see it. I sure do love making him smile! Oh, I forgot to tell something very cool. Wednesday when I picked him up at school, he told me he had something for me. He pulled out of his backpack a small, flat rock, a little bigger than a quarter, and it's shaped like a heart! He told me he wants me to have it for good luck. So he went to his dad's, then the next day when I picked him up at the school to take him to his appointment, I said, "Guess what's in my pocket?" and showed him I was carrying the lucky rock he gave me. You should have seen his face light up! I sure do love that smile!

I hate to tell you this but you will blink your eyes and he will be all grown up. I am looking at all of these late teenagers here and they are so GROWN up.

2 of them cooked on the grill, another made squash that my next door neighbor just picked from her garden...the rest are now doing the dishes. They have a 1000 piece puzzle going and I think they are going to Ocean City MD tonight!! Oh how I wish I was young again!!

Tonight we'll see Lea Salonga at the Disney Concert Hall.

She won a Tony for her lead role in Miss Saigon, performed in Les Miserables, and was the singing voices of Mulan ("Reflection") and of Princess Jasmine ("A Whole New World").

Would love to see her perform on a cruise!

Actually, I'm going to go buy another can of Raid first because I see one hovering around my mower. I think it's lurking, waiting for me to come back so it can get revenge.

Holly, it wasn't long ago we shared wasp stories, I need to mow my lawn...now I'm scared!

We're leaving early in the morning and boy am I ready! It has been a hell of a week. Tuesday morning I checked in the hospital to have a lump removed from my breast. It turned out ok but boy am I sore!. They put a medal chip in so they can moniter the area - so I figure with my luck I will set the alarms off at the airport in the morning. I have 6 butterfly thingys instead of stitches. At least it is waterproof. Then today our dog was supposed to have surgery but when the vet did the ultrasound he suggested putting him to sleep. So the way things are going this week I hope I don't miss my plane tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a good couple of weeks! I will probably check in, but we are not taking computers with us.

Gydell I'm so sorry you've had to go through all of this. I hope you can relax and recuperate over the next couple of weeks. Take care of yourself

Well, Frank got through the surgery ... but they had a pretty hard time (guess I should not have been surprised) It was supposed to take about 1 and 1/2 hours.....took 4 hours. He is going to stay in the hospital for the weekend. He should be just fine!!

Once they were all done, I left for the beach and drove about 3 hours....there are 8 18-19 yearold here. I am staying out of there way. 1 Oxford student, 2 Uni of VA students, 3 VA Tech students, 1 George mason Student and 1 VA Commonwealth student.

Bertha (that hurricane that was CAT 3 but did nothi land) has caused the wave to be 8 feet and the rip tide to be HUGE!! The kids have had a lot of fun!!

Lisa, glad to read that Frank got through his surgery okay, even if it was hard and long Enjoy the beach and your time with the "young ones"

You deserve a nice shower or restful bubble bath.

Why not send suggestions? If DCL tells the entertainer that he or she was requested by cruisers, it might encourage them to accept the offer.

I've only had my grandaughter in my house for a week and a half and I swear I am ten years younger I've been crawling around hoping she'll copy me Actually, she has started to get up on her knees and rock and is pulling/dragging herself all over the place the last couple of days, she did not do this before moving in, although she was rolling wherever she wanted to go! And she sat up by herself in her crib for the first time yesterday...I think I'm a good influence on her
