Good news! The Dr. at the migraine clinic gave me 2 drugs today, one is Relpax (to take when migraines pop up) and the other is Nortriptyline (an antidepressant). He gave me 2 sample pills of the Relpax, I took one and the migraine I've been struggling with since Saturday night was gone in 1/2 hour!!! Bad news. I couldn't get that script filled because it's almost $400 for 12 pills. So I'm going to have to give the Dr. a call tomorrow and ask for something else or to let me know when they get more samples (they only had the 2). He also gave me a migraine diet to follow, eliminating TONS of foods for a month and then gradually re-introducing them one at a time to see which bothers me (if any). No fun, but I'm willing to give anything a try.

BETTER NEWS: the psychiatrist called and can see Tyler this Thursday at noon. Unfortunately, that's one of his dad's days, so his dad will demand to take him, and I'm afraid he'll tell the Dr. he's not wanting meds. Would it be wrong of me to not tell his dad about the cancellation and just go pick Tyler up from school that morning and take him myself? I'd e-mail his dad just before I leave work and tell him about the "sudden" cancellation, because he does need to know he's leaving school in case he were to leave work early to pick him up or something.

Home from the pool early - someone pooped in the pool! Why can't parents put the correct swimwear on their kids??????:confused3

They're threatening to close our HOA pool because this has happened 3 times already this summer! Disgusting!!!

I was recently given this link to watch a song from Molly's last play Grease.

The girl that played the lead, Sandy, is the big sister of Wilson's baseball friend and the person that introduced Molly to the theater group. Hence a good friend :flower3:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hcj...utube.com/watch?v=5hcjUoKTF28&feature=related

You can see just a blip of Molly in the very last group that comes on the stage on the right side (facing the stage)

I think I saw her! Cute!

Wonderful about the migraine having gone Holly, but what a price that med is!!!:scared1: Lets hope the Dr can find something cheaper that works as well. Good luck with the diet.

You do need to be at the Psychiatrist appointment Holly, so if that is the only way then that is what you must do.

Just checking in to say that I'm still cleaning out closets and drawers. It's going slowly, but I haven't given up! I'm doing really well, for me!:thumbsup2
Way to go Cheri! This is really hard to stick with, so I give you tons of kudos. I have given up long ago, but hope to try some more this weekend.

I agree. I don't want to be dishonest about it, because that won't help matters, but I really don't trust his dad to do the right thing or to even get him there.

Guess what I got in the mail!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: My Castaway Club card:thumbsup2

Kathe

It's official!!!:thumbsup2

Nan, somehow I don't see a happy ending for them :sad2: And to be perfectly honest, I don't think that would be the best thing , at least not at this point in time. It is sad, because they both really love their daughter, but Samantha has some very real and serious issues. She has little to no support from her own family. We suspect she is bi-polar, she did have a doctor suspect this a few years ago but no clear diagnosis . She did agree to see a doctor a few months ago and went on some meds, but gave them up after a couple of weeks. I am trying to offer her support and a safe environment for both her and Serenity.

Be quiet - the show is on!!!

You guys are so funny! I didn't watch the show at all, but I read online how it turned out, so that made me curious to see the ending. I tuned in for the last 15 minutes. That was plenty!

Holly, When I help people at church who need meds and don't have insurance, one of the thing we recommed is to ask the Doctor to precribe a larger dosage and then cut the drug in half.

I just looked up this drug online and 6 pills of 20 MG is $69 and 6 pills of 40 MG is the same price. You can ask for a script for 40 MG and then cut in half.
That way it would only be about $6 per treatment.

What program has a finale tonight?

You know I have to admit something to all of you ... I have never watched a reality program (Think about it, look who I've spent the past 21 years living with. Most of the time I'm trying to escape reality).

At any rate, when I started posting on the cruise threads a few months before the cruise, I noticed a posting about someone having to watch "AI."

I thought it stood for Artificial Intelligence as in the movie. Then AI was mentioned week after week. I found myself thinking that surely they can't be obsessed with that film.

Wait, I take it back ... I just realized that we do watch two reality programs of sorts, we watch the Antiques Roadshow and the History Detectives.

:lmao: I thought the same thing!

Hi cruisemates

Just a quick drive by...I'm heading home on time for a change...go a steak to throw on the grill...yummmm.

WEDDING STUFF:

CHERI...I booked Peacock Suites 9/5-9/9 F-Tu 4 nights, one bedroom, two queens, total cost.....$25. (yes, twenty-five dollars)

Who's showing up Saturday that may not be going into the parks? I'll be looking for people to play with as I'll only have a two day hopper for Sun & Mon. Of course, I can sit in the lobby of the Grand Californian with a book and while away quite a bit of time. ::yes:: Sweetie Cheri said she'd hang out with me...but geeze, I hate to ask that of an AP holder! I bet SOMEBODY will want to meet for lunch, eh? :confused3

I'm outta here....catch ya later kids....

.

Sounds great!!!!! Thanks!:thumbsup2

Yea!! I just returned from the Post Office from sending stuff out. We've sold 37 items and donated a lot of stuff. We made such a mess pulling everything out that it doesn't look like we've done much. But the cleaning will now commence!

Holly, this (Nortriptyline) is what I'm on for preventitive measures (with another drug too). It's an antidepresant in high doses. In the low dose (I started with 10 mg, moved to 20 mg) it is commonly prescribed to ward off migraines. I have found it to work, and won't bother to give it up ever again (I weaned off when I was ready to get pg with Wilson)

I have heard this is a wonder drug...Relpax, but of course any new drug for migraines will be costly.

I would not think you would be willing to miss Tyler's appointment. Just like his dad joins you on some of them, just insist on joining in for this one. This is such a serious issue I'd think that both of you would be at EVERY appointment. Especially since you live in different houses. If you don't each go how can you both be informed and express what happens when Tyler is in your care. (I'm assuming that you don't speak for each other at doctor appointments)

Did anything ever happen with the child that was cut at school? Did you speak with those parents yet?

I think I saw her! Cute!

It was a small part, but considering she missed so much rehersal I was so grateful she had any part and she loved it!!!

Kathe & Gydell -

You ladies are amazing women & grandmothers. I know I have only watched Gydell with Brent, but Kathe I know the type of woman you are so I know that Serenity is a lucky little girl.:lovestruc

I know that those 2 kids will ALWAYS have someone they can go to in good & bad times, and that you will always be in their corner.

My father's mother & dad lived across the street from us. She was "Granny" and such a wonderful part of my life. My mother's mom lived in LA and was very strange; really, she was mentally ill (not joking) so I didn't have much of a relationship at all with her. But Granny was so involved in my life that she made up for it. Gydell & Kathe, I think you'll be the "Granny" to those grandkids!

I'm coming early on Wednesday for the wedding and Paul is bringing the kids on Friday after school. Hey....we can play....:rolleyes1

Nan, how long are you guys staying? Which days are you going to the park?

Thanks Lisa, I'll definitely check into this when I call tomorrow. This was $347.99 for 12 pills of the 40MG, so perhaps I need to even check a different pharmacy because the price Walgreens gave me is way higher than what you found. Yikes! But the point is, I'm sure there is a less expensive option. Thanks! :thumbsup2

TIME SHARE PEOPLE. The $25 is because I had to 'rent' 100 extra points at 25 cents per point.

.

I just did a Hotwire check for Sept. 5-9th, 2 people and it came up with a range of $36/night for a 2 star, $59/night for a 3 star, and $75/night for a 3.5 star. I've used Hotwire many times for my DL trips and have always been satisfied. The lowest I've gone is 2 star, and it was OK for just me.

Way back when you all were first using those, the first time I saw them I really thought there was a bug inside my monitor!!!:scared1: When I'm on the computer at night I have these little things that fly around and land on my screen and I thought that one had somehow gotten inside my screen! I'm such a dork!:lmao:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

Cheri, I have a new dresser being delivered tomorrow, so I'll be up early emptying my old one :scared1: I've wanted a new dresser for some time, so will move my old one into Serenity's room for her things. I'm scared of all the clutter I will have when I empty it!

I'm so glad to hear you have good luck with this drug. He's having me do 25mg for the first week and then bump up to 50 mg.

I have heard this is a wonder drug...Relpax, but of course any new drug for migraines will be costly.

It was amazing how quickly it worked. Only thing I didn't like was the tightness in my chest and my jaw & neck were stiff & sore for an hour, but it wasn't severe enough to be an issue and was so worth it to have the migraine gone. I'll find a way to get this drug for sure. :thumbsup2

Oh, the Dr. won't be talking to us adults at this appt., only Tyler. He specifically instructed us that way. But I'm not sure I trust his dad to even take him since he's now protesting meds again, so I'm just going to tell him about it that morning and if he feels the need to come, fine, but I'll remind him the Dr. doesn't want to talk to us, only Tyler. He'll be talking to just the adults at the appt. after that when Tyler's not there again.

Did anything ever happen with the child that was cut at school? Did you speak with those parents yet?

It was a small part, but considering she missed so much rehersal I was so grateful she had any part and she loved it!!!
No, we never heard anything from the other kid at school and I haven't seen his parents yet.

Congrats on Molly's part, glad she enjoyed it! :goodvibes

Definately a step forward on both issues Holly :thumbsup2  I hope you and Tyler's dad can work it out so that you can both be there.
Yeah, but Dr. doesn't want all of us adults there, because the 3 of us would just be sitting in the waiting room. He's not even going to take anybody back into the room but Tyler. Next appt after that he'll tell all of us what he's decided. :thumbsup2 I just have to make sure Tyler gets to the appt. :goodvibes
