Way Early I know but anyone going on Eastern May 1-8 2004?

Hello guys.

When I read all your post and the trip reports from JenLynn and Heidi(great job by the way) i got a feeling that I missed out on e few fun things on board. How could that happen?

I´m glad you´re all planning your next vacations. There is absolutly no way for us to go again in the near future. And I have no idea ,how long it will take me to get over the effects of this one.Surgery on the knee is sceduled for the 24.May.

Jason-the girls i was talking about will in fact be on the 08.28.cruise with you.I gave them your website adress.Maybe they will get in touch with you...

:wave2: :wave2: :wave2:
Talk to you soon and keep on posting those drink recipes.
Conny:wave:

I have the bushwacker recipe incase anyone needs it. My mom found it on barmeister.com. It looks like the ingredients are right on the money.

1 oz. Light Rum
1 oz. Dark Rum
2 oz. Kahlua
2 oz. Cream De Cocoa
1 oz. Coco Lopez
2 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream
1 oz. Amaretto
2 cups ice
1 dash nutmeg
1 scoop whipped cream

Combine all liquids in a blender, add ice and blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

It actually says that this recipe is from St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, so it must be the real thing. Enjoy!!!!!!!

:drinking1 :drinking1

We didn't get a chance to make them last night, but maybe tonights the night! Also bought the ingredients for a "Spongebob". We want to try the Key Lime Martinis, but without Headgear Pat here to work his magic with the martini shaker I'm afraid that they just won't taste the same. We don't want Key Lime Martini let-down, if you know what I mean!!!

Brrrrr...it's cold here today. After spending the whole week in shorts (which was nice after returning from a tropical vacation) it's only 40 degrees here this morning. Yuck! Tom and Pango just left to play golf (it's 7:30 am)...Laura is sitting in the Detroit airport waiting for a flight to Lansing. She took the red-eye from her convention in Las Vegas last night. I have to take the girls to a soccer game this morning (Lindsey & Pango's Madelyn). Oh yeah, and I Sarah, Abby and I all got the croupy cough that Heidi has been talking about. Yuck!!! Life is better in the Caribbean!!!

Well Joe used the recipe Julie found for Bushwackers last night and made us 2 rounds. The first round was good; it reminded me a bit of a white russian. The second round was terrific! Joe added strawberries and bananas and let it blend a bit longer .... whewww.... that was good stuff! :drinking1

But i must say the highlight of the evening was when Joe answered the phone and paused and repeated to the person on the phone "What am i wearing?" :confused3 He answered "a tank top and shorts" and then i heard a voice on the other end say "No bow tie?" LOL ..... It was Tom!!!!! Too funny, but of course that just brought us deeper into PDCD. And then a little bit later (after my first bushwaker, feeling pretty good at this point ...) the phone rang again and it was Heidi! And she was in the same state of happiness that i was in!

So the bottom line is ...
We miss you guys! :grouphug:

Conny and Reine, every time i read a post or trip report it seems that i have something i want to add to my "To Do on the Next Cruise" list. Reine, in fact, the first thing that was on my list was "lounge in the hottub late at night"! Oh well, guess that means we need to go on another cruise!

Conny, I am so sorry that you need surgery, but i hope it fixes everything for you. We wil be thinking about you.

OH, and if anyone is interested ....
Happy Birthday to me!!!! (i have to wish myself a happy birthday since Joe and the kids decided that singing to me on the cruise was my single allocated "Happy birthday")

Enjoy your weekend!! (at least those horrible people who were occupying our cabins are now disembarking too!)

Hi gang! Wow the Bushwackers sound great! Actually, while I was at Paradise Point, I asked the bartender what the recipe was that they used. It is all of those ingedients, but equal parts of each. That should be easy enough to remember. The strawberries and bananas sound wonderful.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear JenLyn, Happy Birthday to you!!!!!

I was lucky enough to hear Tom's voice last night on the phone as well..,...Made my day! He was probably wondering if the white panties were indeed mine and since I am not a huge fan of orange....I fessed up to it. He also told me that Julie watched the whole panty in the doll clothes bag happen but didn't say anything.....I just hope to God they were clean. Didn't bother to ask my friend if they were or weren't cause I hope she didn't study them that close!

Anyway, it does suck for the Magic folks who are getting off right now as we speak. And tough to believe that it was about a week ago today that my dear hubby Christened a small stretch of A1A(highway along the ocean)......

Naked Katie thinks she is going to wear her birthday suit to Grandmas so I need to go put a stop to that. Grandma is kind of a stickler in that she prefers her grandchildren to be fully clothed when they come visit! Wish us luck, we are off to Atlantic City for the night. I will donate my $20.00 and call it a day!

I hope everyone who has the yuckies feels better. Too pretty of a day to be sick.

Miss you all and Happy Birthday Jen

Ok JenL and I are not quite over our vacation yet. After hearing from Tom, Pango, Heidi and Ryan, we were in full cruise mode again. We spent the day out side in our deck chairs in the warm sun. While the kids played around in our back yard. We had to run our own drinks, but it's all good!!

Well one day we will catch up with the house work, but for today at least it almost felt like vacation again. All we needed were some crazies yelling JenLynn or BowTie Joe. pirate:

As Jen said the Bushwackers, came out great, but we have nothing to compare it to. So guess we are going to have to make another run to St. Thomas to figure that out! :sunny: I used a little bit more Coco Lopez then the recipe calls for, to sweeten it a little more, but other then that followed the recipe

Spongebobs up next tonight!

Positive thoughts your way Conny!!! Hope all goes well!!! And Reine hope you feel better

Awwwweee and thanks for the love Jason!!! I knew you could never forget us!!!! :grouphug:

BowTie Joe

Hi all!

Conny - sorry to hear about the surgery. Hope all goes well.

Thanks for bushwacker receipe!

Bill & I would love to plan our next trip but that will have to wait for a while. We used up our DVC points on this cruise. So it will be alittle while yet. My mom is looking into the 2005 14 day cruises for herself.

Last night we got out the pictures, video & the rum to remember the cruise!!! It worked! I think we remembered the cruise?! I don't remember.... the rum jumbies were going down really good!

Enjoy your week!

Lisa

We are back to the harsh light of reality after a week at WDW following the cruise. Unfortunately Justin was sick for a good portion of the time but we were able to fit in the MK and Epcot so the poor kid didn't have to come home feeling like he'd missed it all.

I miss you guys!!:wave2: It was so great to meet everybody live and in person! I'm going to be uploading the pix soon to my epson site and I'll post the link here. I wish we'd gotten a group pic on the first day when we all met at the Goofy pool, it was amazing to finally put live bodies to screen names!

Amber

Hi All,

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm feeling better thanks to good meds. The Dr said I got bronchitis from an upper respiratory infection so she gave me an antibiotic which made an almost immediate difference in how I felt. Started with the sore throat on Monday at WDW and went downhill from there. Then trying to work Wed and Thurs didn't help. Went to the Dr on Friday and came home and crashed. Still coughing but over the worst of it. Amazing what a couple of days rest will do. Felt well enough to go to church and Sunday School this morning but came home and cratered again. Then had the tickly cough so couldn't sleep. I figured the codine cough syrup would knock me out but I must be immune to it or something.

I would blame it on something we caught on the cruise but DH had the raw throat a day or so before we left then it cleared up. He had a stopped up head on the ship and started coughing but DD and I blamed it on his smoking. We just dosed him with meds and let him take a nap each afternoon which is what he wanted to do anyway. Wished we'd had a verandah but inside cabins are GREAT for afternoon naps! I really think I had a reaction to all the different pollen and the allergies just kept going into something worse. Whatever, we didn't let it spoil our cruise.

FYI, I've started to post trip reports but it seems that I'm really wordy so it may take a while.

Conny, hope the surgery goes well. I'll put your name on the prayer list in our Sunday School class. Never hurts to have extra prayers. Are you having arthroscopic surgery or is it more extensive than they can do that way? Keep us informed.

Robyn laid our in the back yard today and complained that it was too hot since there wasn't any breeze from the ship moving! She is also complaining that her bed doesn't rock her to sleep. She hasn't even been home a week and already she's looking forward to returning. I guess that means she loves her job.

Also for Heidi and all the rest who battled sea sickness, she said it was actually one of the CALMER Eastern sailings. We didn't have much of a probem but if that was calm, I don't want to be on the ship on a rough day!.:crazy2:

OK, now I'm going to try to go back to bed and see if I can get to sleep. I'm gonna miss the ZZZs tomorrow at work.

Reine

Welcome home Amber!! I didn't realize you were going to WDW after the cruise ... probably better that way or else last week would have been even harder to take! Sorry to hear that Justin was sick ... both of mine were sick last week (they took turns). I think we are all better here .... at least hoping so! Did you stay on-site in WDW? Where? (nosy little thing, aren't I?) :hyper2:

It was great meeting you in-person! A group pic at our meet would have been a very good idea ... oh well, guess that means we will have to go on another cruise all together to get a pic!

Goodness Reine, if that was calm i can't even imagine what a normal day looks like!

Oh well ... another week back to reality! I spent most of the weekend laying out in the backyard while Joe brought me yummy frozen drinks in my DCL glass topped with whipped cream. :drinking1

Miss you all!
JenLynn

Hello everybody.

:drinking:
OK,enough sitting ,leg needs to be stretched again.
Bye-bye Conny:bored:

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!

And Conny, I had the same question when i read the recipe (what in the world is coco lopez?). I did an internet search (that is my answer to everything!) and they have a website:
http://www.cocolopez.com/
It is cream of coconut. Joe found it here in the liquor store, but it is also in the grocery stores around here. If you can't find it there, i am not sure what you should substitute with .. but i am sure one of our resident bartenders will have a good suggestion for you! :)

Hi All,
Just finally checking back in.

We seemed to have brought back the Caribbean weather to VT:sunny: and it has been way to nice to stay inside on the computer.

Just want to say welcome back everyone and it was great meeting you. Travis & Jason it was a lot of fun being with you guys on the Eco-Hike and up on Paridise Point. got a lot of pictures and will be e-mailing you some.

Question, I just loved the Bushwacker drink at Paridise Point, I almost bought the kit to bring home but didn't (I keep kicking myself for this) now does anyone have or know the recipe for it! Please Please post it, I have been raving about it to everyone and they want me to fix them one. (Of course I could just book another cruise and go back Huh!!!)

I have been writing my trip report but have been posting it at the PassPorter site first hope to get back here soon.

Oh, Renee thanks so much for giving me the tour of the kids club the parents are just estactic over the video and I think there will be lots of booking going on. Say Hi to Robin and thank her too.

Here it is:

1 oz. light rum
1 oz. dark rum
2 oz. kahlua
2 oz. cream de cocoa
1 oz. coco lopez
2 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream
1 oz. amaretto
nutmeg
whipped cream

Combine all liquids in a blender; add ice and blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

JenLynn and Bowtie Joe made them this past weekend and said they were delicious. They also made a batch with strawberries and bananas.

Enjoy!!!

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

I don´t think we have Coco Lopez here, waht is that exactly and what shall I use instead.Need help from the mixing guys!!!!

Coco Lopez is just cream of coconut. There are several different brands, but coco lopez boasts it self as the best. I would think you should be able to find some kind of coconut mixer in your liquor store or grocery store as it is very popular for mixed drinks.

Here's the REAL recipe for the Banana Bender/Painkiller...we made the spongebob because we didn't have banana rum only coconut rum, Dark Rum , PINEAPPLE juice and Orange Juice

This is from the people who ran the excursion in St. Thomas

Banana Bender/Painkiller

The base juice is 4 parts pineapple juice, 1 part orange juice and one part CoCo Lopez.

Now if you want a painkiller, mix with this juice a good dark rum. If you want a banana bender, then mix this juice with Cruzan banana rum.

Don't forget the fresh grated nutmeg on the top.

I am so glad to see that i am not the only one who hasn't yet taken the countdown timer off their signature! I am just not ready to do that yet!

Me either but I am SURE ready to post a few more...like how many days til TOM JONES IN VEGAS baby

How many days til CANCUN

aaaahhhh yes and BOTH trips will be CHILD FREE!!!!!!!!!!!::yes::

Heidi

Conny I hope your knee surgery goes well. I wish you could spend your recovery time on Castaway Cay! Logan's mom sent me some pix of us in the atrium, I'll have to upload them to my Epson site.

JenLynn, Happy belated B-day! We stayed at CBR and were less than thrilled, given the amount of time we spent in the room while Justin was sick. It was a pain walking all over that place and buying over priced tylenol. Luckily we stayed at the parks long enough that Justin got in a few good days at Epcot and MK but really we feel like we need to go back already!!

Heidi, I am totally down for kidless trip-- I'll actually be in your neck of the woods sometime in the next couple of weeks to visit the U!

Jason and Travis, thanks so much for organizing the meet and all of your hard work. I'm so excited that you guys are doing the repositioning cruise!!

I have uploaded some photos to my epson site, here's the link.

http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=4118481&a=31245237&f

I'll be adding more as quickly as possible (it seems to take forever for the site to post them for some reason-- it used to be really fast).

Great pictures Amber!! I especially loved the ones of Justin singing in the Promenade Lounge!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, and i am so sorry Justin was sick while you were in WDW. We stayed at CBR for our honeymoon and although we liked the themeing, it was quite sprawling.

:)
