Hi Everyone!!!

A little over four days and we are on a plane!!!:sunny: I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for visiting either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, which one is better, a good time of day etc....

Thanks in advance

Each water parks are great in many different ways. I enjoy both. But, because blizzard beach is newer, has the Summit Plummet, and Teamboat Springs I enjoy them a little better.

No matter what park you pick you need to get there early. Get teh refillable mug at blizzard beach. Great for a all day at the park

Depends what you and your family prefer. IMHO, Blizzard has more and better slides and rides, but Typhoon has that wonderful lagoon with the BIG wave. And it has enough slides and rides to have fun with too. But, when you are tired of standing in lines and want to get wet and stay wet, you can stay in the big lagoon and surf the wave. My DD and I like to do it over and over and over until we can't walk! You can't go wrong though, it's all wet and fun.

They are both a whole lot of fun, but I like TL better. I like the tropical atmosphere and the wave pool is much better than BB's. On the other hand, BB has alot of really great slides, a tad bit more daring than TL's. In either case, they both have excellent lazy rivers - which for me are the best part of the parks. I really feel like I've found vacation paradise when I'm just floating along in an inner tube, not a care in the world (until I get under those waterfalls:eek: )

Have a great time!:D

Probably not exactly what you wre looking for, but this is my BEST water park advice:
If you have a car, drive to the water park. Do not take the bus. Twice we have been there when an afternoon storm came along. The first storm was major - very high wind, terrible lightening - and we had taken the bus there. No real good place to take shelter with that many people in a water park. We ahd no way to leave as we had taken the bus. The storm lasted a LONG time.
The second time we were there for a storm, we had learned to drive our own car so when the storm started to kick up we promptly gathered our things and got the heck out of their in our own little car. We always drive now any time we go to a water park as there is little place to take shelter in a bad storm.

Blizzard Beach=fun in the sun, fun slides, raft rides and Summit Plummet. Very humorously themed. More for those actively inclined.

Typhoon Lagoon=mellow tropical feel, huge wave pool, more of a beachy laid-back feel. Castaway Creek on an inner tube. Pure bliss.

Since you are going shortly, know that both parks will be very crowded. Either go right when it opens or wait until the afternoon when most people start heading out(like 3pm-7pm). Try and think that they may be more busy on the weekends when the locals can take their kids. Early in the week may be better when all the tourists are busy hitting the theme parks......like monday....just my .02

Great post that reminds me,
Any advice for a large group, 3 adults (each with a baby, mines will be 1, Sis has 1 1/2 yr old, sis has 2 yr old) and then 6 bigger kids that most aren't great swimmers. 3 girls-9,10,10 and 3 boys-12, 8, 7. We will take turns watching the babies just wanting some of you guys brillant suggestions. :) :)

We prefer TL, mainly because of the setting. We feel like we are really on a tropical island!! We love Castaway Creek and the wave pool. However when our kids went with us they like the rides at BB a little better. But the snow setting just doesn't do anything for me. I see snow all winter! The slides at TL are just right for us, like Storm Slides and the Family Raft ride too. We go there for a relaxing day to enjoy the sun and water and that is exactly what we do! But that is just our opinion. Both places are very nice, just depends on what you want to get out of it. I would definately drive if you have that option.

I can not coment on both parks. I have only been to BB.

Bring some water socks (shoes). The pavemnet can get very hot for the tender bottom of your feet. You would be required to take them off and hold them going down the high speed slides

And do not forget the sun screen (30 sbf or higher)

Both water parks closed last week because they were full before noon. If you want to go, be there when they open, go when it's cloudy and cool or go later in the afternoon-say 3 or later. When they are full, you can't get in if you are driving, but you can get in if you ride the bus. But it is very difficult to find a spot to sit, chairs are very difficult to find.
