Hi guys!

I am visiting the World solo in September and am debating whether to visit the waterparks. I have not visited either waterpark before and I am a bit nervous about going to them solo. Has anyone been solo to either park? If so how did you find it?

Yes I go solo! I love it! I can pretty much find a space to leave my stuff anywhere I want, since there's only me to worry about.

Waiting in lines for the rides by myself is actually fun. I strike up conversations with everyone that I can.

I had two concerns when going solo to the water park.. what would I do with my car keys, ID, ticket and debit card? And would I be able to ride the family raft?

In the gift shop, I bought one of those water resistant dry boxes to wear around my neck. I just put my ticket and cash in a ziplock and stuffed it inside the box. And then I felt comfortable enough leaving my cooler, beach bag and towel on any old chair that wasn't taken.

At Blizzard Beach, the cast member will gather up other people to ride the family raft with you. At Typhoon Lagoon, you can chat up whoever is in line with you and ask if you can tag along in their raft.

Thanks for the advice :) I think I was a little worried that I would stick out like a sore thumb, especially on the family raft rides. Its nice to know that I don't have to ride them solo!

Hi guys!

When I worked at WDW, I would go to the waterparks sometimes alone on my days off. I really didn't do the rides, mainly just the wave pool and lazy river but I always just left my stuff on my chair. I never felt like it would be taken as I wasn't gone that long (even though it could only take a second). I tried to strike up convo with families around me. I only took in what I needed: car keys, maybe $20 in cash, cell phone, and annual pass. I tried to "hide" my bag under the chair for added security. You can always rent a locker if you really felt like your stuff was not safe.

Have fun!

I don't like the rides but stay in the lazy river all day. I have one of those water proof puches you can buy at walmart or the parks for less then $10. They have lockers for rent but I have a towel and shorts. I leave on an empty chair in an area that is not as popular. I try put the towel over the bag next to a family so it looks like theirs or behind a bushy area. If some one needs my towel that bad oh well. You could just use your KTTW for food or carry cc/ debit or small amount of cash.

I go solo and love the waterparks.

I don't bring anything with me other than my card key/ticket and a swim chamois to dry off. I keep them in one of the cargo pocket of my swim trunks (I'm a girl, but my dad died of melanoma and genetically at risk, so I wear long swim trunks, a tank top, and a floppy hat when I'm at the water parks to keep as much sun off of me as I can). I only go for two or three hours, so I don't need food. When I need something to drink, I get a cup of free ice water at one of the restaurants.

The last time I was there was in 2008, so things might be different, but here are some things I remember:

There were only two rides that gave me problems - a family raft ride at BB, but a family of 3 let me ride with them. It was a little weird. I don't have a problem riding with other people at the theme parks, so I'm not really sure why... And the Crush 'n' Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon only had one slide that singles could go down. I lugged my raft up and waited in line, only to be told that I could only use a specific slide. That was pretty annoying. They let me on it right away, but I couldn't use either of the other slides unless I found a stranger to cuddle up with. One good thing, though, is that BB had a single rider line for the chair lift, so it took only a few seconds to get on a chair.
