With Blizzard Beach closed this fall, how busy with Typhoon Lagoon be? We're headed down the second week of November. (from what I've read, one park is always closed from Oct-Mar)

We love the waterparks. It's why we go when it's hot in September. TL will be moderately busy. The closer you get to January it will taper off.

It should be pretty warm in Nov.
We saw some upper 80s followed by some mid 60s days over new years so there can be a big variance in the "averages".
If you do go in summer, it will be very hot but very crowded so fall might be a good balance of heat and crowd levels.

In January and February, is it always too cold to go to a water park?
In my opinion- Yes.

Last year was a rare winter for Orlando. Typically it is cold after October.
HOWEVER-
I am a former South Floridian and my idea of "cold" may differ from others.
I rarely went north to Orlando past Haloween Horror Nights...but yet some northerners start their vacays at that point. If you're from Fargo, then yes- Orlando will be warm to you. We are going in December this year and I have no plans of utilizing the resort pool.

We were there in early January and we did have the few really hot days followed by a bunch of really cool days that continued after we left.
I think the problem with January is even if you do get the few hot days that it's notenough to warm up the water temps up a lot. The average high forJan is about 71 and the low is in the low 50s.
We had been on a brief trip years ago and based on that and the averages, we didn't plan a water park day this time.

We've been to WDW four times-April, Feb, Oct, Feb. It has been warm enough to go to the waterparks at least one day during each of our visits.

We went last November on a Monday. It was the 3rd week. Before the busy thanksgiving week. It was so empty. We had our choice of beach chairs and did not wait for any slide. The water is heated and it was nice. It was a nice sunny day, probably about 80. We arrived about 11 and stayed until about 4 I think. We even got pixie dusted with some free ice cream when we were packing up to leave. I think they were trying to empty the soft service machine or something. But the free sundae was still awesome.

We are going 1st week of December, after a 7 night western Caribbean.. I'm actually shipping "winter" clothes to the Contemporary ahead of time, to be there on our arrival. I will not at all complain if there is never a need to open that package! I'm hoping 2016 will be a repeat of '15..just rather be safe than sorry.

I i am from Laval and We were in november at Typhoon Lagoon and it Was freaking hot (32-34C)! The water is Heathed exept for the Sharks reef, it Was enough hot for me. When you enter in the water you hear pshhhhhh lol!

We're going the second week of November too! Planning to go to a water park one day on our trip. Haven't done a WDW water park since Blizzard Beach when I was 10! That's sixteen years ago already!

The WDW operating calendar shows BB will be closed and only Typhoon Lagoon will be open in Nov.

I know they close one park during late fall and into Jan or so for refurbs. Then it reopens and the other water park closes until early March or so.

I've never been to TL but I was hoping for BB to be open for nostalgic reasons. Plus BB seems to have more intense slides which I'd prefer - especially to try Summit Plummet.

Wasn't BB closed last fall?

I was hoping they'd alternate.

Does anyone think they'll wind up closing TL? Or is it set in stone once that travel agent calendar comes out?

Thanks

To answer my own question above lol - I noticed the closed water park can change. My operating calendar for Nov 2015 originally showed Typhoon Lagoon under refurb when the calendar came out around May 2015, but my final operating calendar showed TL operating and BB under refurb.

I hope it switches and BB is open in Nov 16!

We went to blizzard beach Oct 2014 and it was not at all crowded. Lines were about 5-20 minutes depending on attraction. I can't see them having enough demand to run two water parks in the winter. That was one of 2 days warm enough on the october trip. We've also gone in december, january and february. In a total of 20 winter days, I think we've seen 4 days that were warm enough for us to be comfortable at water parks. BUT mileage varies. Some people go in January and wear shorts all week and others like us are in hats and gloves all week.

Is BB confirmed to be closed this fall? I spoke with a CM a little over a week ago and was told both would be open during my trip Oct 3-8.

According to the TA calendar, Blizzard Beach closes for refurbishment October 23rd.

We went to typhoon lagoon in October, a few days after blizzard beach closed for the winter. We went on the coolest day of our trip, which was about 85 degrees, if I remember correctly. I'm really glad I went. The quick service was really crowded every time I passed it. I think only one of the qs was open, other than stands. But it only took about 20 minutes or so to wait and get our food and then we found a nice table to stand and eat at a little ways away.
The lines weren't that bad, and we went on the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend. The longest we waited was probably half an hour for one of the more popular slides (although I forget which one at the moment). We got to ride many of the rides multiple times. We waited ten to fifteen minutes for most of them. We stayed from about an hour after opening to 4 and did everything there.
The only complaint I had was that it was a little cold in line for the slides because of all of the trees/shade and water shooting from rocks in some of the ques, but I'm sure those are both great on a warmer day!
