Water fans & security

Last month DH & I enjoyed bypassing the security lines with just a water bottle in tow; no fanny pack, no bag, etc.

We are returning this July, when I will want to bring my water fan. We haven't visited in July (and haven't needed the water fan) since before the security checks have been in place; July 2000, as a matter of fact.

My question is: Do they let you by-pass the security check with a water fan?

Yes, you can bypass the security search since there is nothing to search. You can clearly see the water/fan bottle. That would be like having a camera hanging over your neck...as long as it is not concealed..... there is nothing to "look" for .......

I thought it would be ok; it's just like a water bottle. I just wanted people's experiences with this.

We've toured without fanny packs since they instituted the security checks. Besides by-passing security, we like the freedom it affords. DH never liked wearing a fanny pack. The first time I told him we weren't using them in order to avoid the security check, he said, "YES! Security checks are a good thing; best idea they (WDW) have had in a long time"

And you know what? I have to agree with him. I don't miss it. Just alot of extra stuff I was carrying with me.
