Oh my goodness! It looks like you had an amazing trip to Gulf Shores! The condo looks amazing, the beach pictures were beautiful, the family is adorable and the pork chop and rolls look delicious.

Vacation was perfect...and knowing that we have an even BETTER vacation just around the corner helped the sadness of leaving! :thumbsup2

Looks like a great trip. That condo is perfect!
I love love love that picture of all of you on the beach......that needs to be blown up and put on a wall. Maybe build a wall just for that picture??? ;)
Thanks for sharing....you have the cutest family ever!

I loved that picture, too. I do have a frame here at work I plan to add it too. I am sure it will make an appearance in our home somewhere, too. :goodvibes

Enjoyed perusing your beach vacay pics :)
Such a cute family :)
I agree with another poster; you need to frame the Family beach pic. Adorable.

I got that pose idea from watching Gabe and Brian sit and watch the ocean like that. I knew it would make a great family photo. So glad we did that. :cloud9:

Oh Oopsi! There is so much to say! Everything is so so so :cloud9:
Heavenly!!!
the sunset/rise pictures are to die for. The family picture like Suzi said needs to be hung up.. One in your home and the other in the beach house!!! :beach:

As for your Circus act. We are currently hiring for acrobatics if the kids are for hire?
That was seriously COOL! :thumbsup2

So glad you were able to spend an amazing relaxing family getaway!!!

I am thinking that a print of that photo in a barn wood frame would make a wonderful Christmas gift for the in-laws. :cool2: Whether they put it in the condo will have to be their decision. :rolleyes1

Connie, I loved the rest of the updates.

That place you went for lunch sounds like my dining room table at the holidays with throwing the buns! The food looks yummy.

And what fun at the pool and again at the beach.

I love that pic of the five of you facing the ocean. :thumbsup2

What wonderful memories you are going to make over the years.

:rotfl2: I am having a ball picturing the KatMark family tossing rolls to each other at the Thanksgiving table!!! I can just picture everyone wearing silly hats having a time together.
:lmao:

Petals!!!! Haven't seen you on the Disboards lately! I have been keeping up with you on FB. I think of you every time Charity wears one of those fabulous shirts you shared with us! :goodvibes

First on a non-related, non-Disney note... BFF and I went to a canvas painting party at my church last Tuesday night. There are a group of folks from the church raising funds to go to Nepal for missions work this October. I thought this was such a fabulous idea to raise some of the funds. The art instructor was a friend of one of the folks going, and donated her time and talents for the evening. We had a great time, and got to take home these beauties at the end of the night:

And speaking of BFF...she and I have a girl's weekend getaway this weekend!!! :woohoo: We are headed south to my mom's house Thursday evening. Mom and her BFF will be joining us Friday on a day trip to Louisianna for some boutique shopping, a little antiquing, and lunch at a restaurant featuring a chef who won on Chopped on the Food Network. I have a very important and exiciting Dismeet planned for that day as well. :earboy2:

On Saturday we have no plans other than spending a lot of time relaxing with the pool and hot tub at Mom's house. We are so excited, not just for all the fun we have planned, but for some time away from hubbies and kids! :thumbsup2

On to the Disney activity now! Saturday, the kids made something really fun. They had a blast with this activity. And it is something that will keep on giving for a while! :goodvibes

It started off with some measuring and cutting:

Then some gluing:

To come up with this:

Can you tell from what Gabe is holding what comes next? Lollipops, lots of lollipops!

And then some MORE lollipops:

And the completed project:

They had so much fun with this, and it is definitely a gift that will keep on giving...

Oooooh, I love love love the painting! And, what a wonderful cause. I just found out that Lacey & Jesse will be arriving this weekend but we aren't sure of the time. The Dismeet may have to be a quick one but I'm still in!

I think that I may very well take your lollipop Mickey head idea. It's so cute and it's the gift that keeps on giving. LOL!

I;ve been busy with work and piano and stuff like that! I do have an it's on/it's off trip possibly coming up though. There's a link to the ptr in my sig!

I did notice that in the first post Charity has the Pocahontas t-shirt on :D I'm glad they went to Disney lovers :goodvibes

Sorry we missed each other this weekend, but we did have a great time in your neck of the woods, Lisa! :goodvibes I hope your weekend with Lacey and Jesse was nice. :thumbsup2

We LOVE that lollipop Mickey...and it DOES keep on giving! :rotfl2:

Charity loves both of those shirts, just wore Lion King one last week, too. :cutie:

Subbed to your TRR now! :goodvibes

OHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THAT!!! So going to find time to make one of them!!!!

Making that lollipop Mickey got Jillian and I to thinking about ideas for her Sweet 16 next year! :scared1:

Well, the title of this post is a BIT deceptive, because my plan has not COMPLETELY come together yet...but I am trying. :thumbsup2

Anywho... there HAS been planning going on lately. :cool1:

My mom sewed my costume for the Halloween party... but it fits VERY oddly, so MIL is going to try to alter it a bit for a better fit. I still have to purchase all of Jillian's costume and one element each of Brian and Charity's costumes. I MAY post pictures once we have all five costumes ready. popcorn::

While I was away for my girl's weekend, I was able to purchase my dress and shoes for Formal Night. I am SO excited about it, love the dress!

Last night we had a family meeting around Brian's laptop. We went excursion shopping, because today was online check in and ADR day!!!! :yay:

I am SOOOO disappointed with myself. We have never done a cruise before. SOME of the folks on our FB page talked about staying up until midnight last night for the check in to open up, but I didn't feel it was necessary...so I waited until I got to work this morning to book stuff. :rolleyes1 I missed out on getting reservations for Palo Brunch. :worried: I plan to stalk the ressie page in hopes of a cancellation between now and time to leave. If I still cannot snag one, I will be headed STRAIGHT to Palo upon boarding to try to snag one of the few reservations they save for folks boarding. Please wish me LOTS of faith, trust and pixie dust, because I REALLY want to get those ressies!!! :guilty:

I WAS able to book our St. John's/St. Thomas excursion choice! :woohoo: We will be taking the Doubloon Turtle Cove Sail and Snorkel port adventure:

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/c...slands/doubloon-turtle-cove-sail-and-snorkel/

For our St. Martin day, we booked a tour with a non-Disney company. Bernard's Tours comes HIGHLY recommended both on the Disboards and Cruise Critic. They have a guarantee to get you back to port before ship sailing.

http://www.shoreadventures.com/excursions.aspx?id=432

We checked on parasailing on Castaway Cay, but decided against it since it was a bit pricey, and Charity would not have done it since she has a "healthy appreciation" for heights.

We are very excited about the cruise...but I am starting to feel a bit overwhelmed now with the amount of things I still need to get together for it. After paying off the cruise, finances tightened. It felt, at the time, like we had plenty of time left for purchases and plans...but now I am feeling the crunch, big time! Here are things we still need to purchase:

* Formal night dresses for the girls, and a tie for Gabe
* Full costume for Jillian, tops for Brian and Charity's costumes, hat for Brian's costume
* Shirts for Brian and I for our Pirate Night costumes
* Inflatable tubes for Castaway Cay (rental is outrageously pricey)
* Deodorizers for stateroom
* Case of bottled water for port days
* A couple bottles of wine (you can bring alcohol in your carry on)
* Boxed candy and snacks for movies and shows onboard, and for port days (packaged snacks are not free, sold at an inflated price)
* Adhesive magnet strips for door decorations

I am sure there are many other things, but that is all I can think of for now. For those of you who have cruised before, PLEASE give any tips or advice you can think of that will help this newbie!!!!

All that being said....I am SOOOOOO excited! :cool1:

OSrry I don't have the time right now to go back and read...

Your list sounds a lot like mine right now - it's a littl ecrazy here too!!! But I know yours will come together, just like mine will.

Love all of your plans and I cannot wait to see your Halloween outfits!!!

Hugs~!~~

D~

I hate that the two of us missed each other this weekend but hopefully there will be another opportunity for a Dis meet in the future.

Yay for getting your dress while on your girls' trip! I wanna see pictures!

My BFF and I left Thursday afternoon for a weekend getaway at my Mom's house. We had such a fantastic weekend!!!

Upon arrival, my sweet Mom had these little gifts waiting in our rooms:

Our plan was to go to West Monroe, LA on Friday morning. We are big Duck Dynasty fans, and wanted to do the touristy thing around town. We awoke to torrential downpours and flash flood warnings for the day. We quickly decided to switch our Friday/Saturday plans. Saturday's plan had been to relax at Mom's house and then go to a movie and dinner Saturday night. This became Friday's agenda with plans to head to West Monroe on Saturday after the weather cleared. With all that decided, we put BFF to work making breakfast! LOL!!!

Really, we were going to have a light breakfast, but she wanted a big one and offered to cook for us. She said it reminded her of going to hunting camp with her dad and brother and lots of other men as a young girl/ teenager. Her being the only female, she was always the delegated cook. So, then she wanted me to take a picture of her "mess of eggs"... :confused3 Okay, will do!

Then, we spent two hours in mom's hot tub just yacking away. It was so nice!!!

After our hot tub time, we got out and took showers, cleaned up, and had a quick lunch. We then headed out for a movie, some shopping (when I got my formal night dress), and then dinner. I took no pictures of said activities, just enjoyed the moments.

Saturday morning, we got up and got cracking. It was a two hour drive to West Monroe. Bedore we left we took a couple of pictures because we had all "purty'd up" for our day on the town:

We stopped at the Mississippi welcome center, because Mom said it was a beautfiul rest area. Indeed it was. We proceeded to take several photos at that Welcome Center:

We got stuck in traffic, which drew it out to an almost three hour drive. Needless to say, by the time we arrived in town we needed to potty really badly, and we were HUNGRY!! We had only eaten a very light breakfast, because we had planned to eat at a fine dining restaurant for lunch. After stopping at a gas station for a "pit stop" we quickly decided we were no longer in the mood for "fru-fru" food, we wanted some down home goodness. So we made our way to our first touristy stop:

This restaurant was not fancy. Not much in the line of decor, but the food was outstanding! We really enjoyed this lunch. We started out with a basket of breads:

Let me tell you, those hushpuppies were something to write home about. They had a bit of jalapeno in them, and they were delicious!

I loaded up on carbs for lunch. The "Miss Kay's Mac and Cheese" sounded really good to me, but I KNEW if I went all the way down to Louisianna and did not eat any cajun food my hubby would have my hide. So for lunch I had Fried Catfish, Mac and Cheese, and Jambalaya with Chicken, Duck, and Andouille Sausage:

I was disappointed with the fish. The breading was bland, and the fish was not crispy at all. BUT, that mac and cheese was AWESOME! Miss Kay's recipe tasted just like what my grandma used to make. The jambalaya was really tasty...but SPICY! I ate half of it to say I had eaten real cajun jambalaya, but let me just tell you...I kept that waiter busy refilling my water glass! Lunch was fantastic, then we were off for more of our Duck Commander pilgrimage...

Goodness girl, ya'll did get all prettied up for your trip to West Monroe. Ya'll are lookin' good!

Even though we live right here in West Monroe, we've not gone to Willie's Diner yet. If ya'll were in the mood for fish, I would have recommended Catfish Cabin. That's the place Willie tried to sell the fish to in one episode. It's our favoritest seafood place to eat. They have crispy fish just like I like 'em.

Our next stop on the Duck Commander tour would be the infamous warehouse. That place was packed, inside and out!!! Here is the line just to have your picture made in front of the sign:

And our picture:

We then headed into the gift shop. Mom and I didn't buy anything, but BFF"S hubby, kids, and dad sent her with a list! :rotfl: We took another photo op inside the gift shop. Duck Dynasty fans will know why we did this photo op:

On the show, the patriarch of the family (Phil) has a camo recliner like this. :thumbsup2 I also had to take a picture of the loading dock that Jase tried to make a duck pond out of:

After that we moved on to the next stop on our self guided tour...Haskall's Donut shop:

Uncle Si at like two dozen doughnuts in a contest to win a camper on the show. Uncle Si is hilarious, and we knew we had to get a picture when we saw the donut shop right up the road from the warehouse. Yes, we are geeks... moving on.

The last stop on our tour was Duck and Dressing:

This is a high fashion boutique owned by Willie and Korie's oldest daughter, Rebecca. Again, Mom and I bought nothing, but BFF got a shirt and a bracelet. Back by the dressing rooms we spotted Rebecca's cute little dog and BFF told me to take a stalker picture...

That little dog was so cute! She got up from that couch at one point while BFF was trying on some things, and mom sat down where she had been. She came prancing back up, and just sat there and STARED mom down, until mom moved to the other end of the couch. She them jumped right back up there, and laid right back down. Typical spoiled doggie. :lmao:

That was the last stop on our tour. We did pass by where Mickeystoontown works, but decided not to be the stalkarazzi any more and take pictures of her office builidng... :rotfl: But it IS a cool looking office builidng with lots of brightly colored doors. :thumbsup2

That was the end of our day. We headed back to MS, had a light dinner on the way, and crashed to bed when we got home. We got up early yesterday morning, and hit the road for home. It was a GREAT getaway weekend!!!

The Duck Commander crew sure has brought a lot of folks into town since the start of their show. We used to go by the warehouse and pick up a few things and take pictures without all of the crowds. Do you remember when I was chosen by A&E to host a season premiere party? I went to their store and bought some stuff for the party and it was busy but not crazy busy like it is now-a-days.

Friday morning, I stopped by Antique Alley and picked up a couple of travel brochures in the hope that we would meet up. It has a list of over a dozen places where they've filmed. If you ever come back this way, let me know and I'll send it to you. It's kinda fun to look at the list and go "I've been there. And there. And there."

I would have soooo taken the picture of the spoiled dog too! I mean, seriously, it's a television star! I saw Rebecca at the mall the other day just doing some shopping. It's not uncommon for us to see the family since we live not too far from some of them. (Willie used to live in my sister's neighborhood but now lives in my ex-brother in law's house) Saw Phil driving past our street/road just the other day.

You passed by my work! Wish that I had been here to wave at you guys!

I'm so glad that you had such a great girls' weekend trip and got to spend some time in my home city.

I just wanted to say don't worry about not getting a Palo ressie. You will definitely be able to get one once you board. DH and I did Palo brunch and it was heavenly.

We also did Bernard's Tours in St. Maarten. We really liked that tour. Ask if you have any questions.

ohh BIG update!!!

First i totally understand your start of a freakout now that the trips are getting coming up right behind us!!!

the excursions look AMAZING! the second one had me giggling like a 5th grader "Some beaches will allow you to idle romantically on the warm sand while others offer all kind of amusements such as surfing the large waves, beach volleying, and so more... Some others are reserved only for those who find nudity appropriate.

Romance is everywhere on the Island, especially on the tiny beaches snuggled between rocky cliffs and those with large stretches of white sand."

What exactly does this mean??? :confused3.

popcorn::

i am so immature...

Your list of to do's i know you will get them all done without any issues!! Your SuperMom!!!

Your Girls weekend?!? :cloud9: I'm glad you were able to get away and have a wonderful time!!! I will say... If you were that close to me.. and I didn't get a call from you to meet up?? I would be :furious:!!! so keep that in mind.. :flower3:

I am mostly stressing about the to do list because when my hubby stresses about the finances, he won't come off the $$ for ANYTHING! I am afraid we will be down to the wire, and STILL need most of this stuff! :crazy2: I make it a point to get clearance from him for out of the ordinary purchases most of the time...BUT yesterday I chose to get something with the philosphy that it would be easier to get forgiveness than permission... ::yes::

At the beginning of the summer I told Brian that at some point in the summer I wanted two new pairs of sandals, white ones and black ones. I had gotten black ones already, but still needed white. After paying off the cruise, finances tightened, and Brian so did purse strings. :sad2:

All weekend, while I was on my girl's trip, I looked for a nice pair of white sandals, and could not find them anywhere! I had spotted a pair I liked at one of our local stores earlier in the summer. Well, yesterday I decided to check our store again...and there was but ONE PAIR LEFT, and it happenend to be my size, so I bought them!! He frowned at me when he saw them, but when I told him about looking all weekend, and it being the last pair...he handled it like a champ! :cheer2:

I hate that the two of us missed each other this weekend but hopefully there will be another opportunity for a Dis meet in the future.

Yay for getting your dress while on your girls' trip! I wanna see pictures!

I am afraid you will have to wait for the TR to see pictures of my formal night dress! Gotta keep SOME of the fun surprises for the TR! ::yes::

That's the place Willie tried to sell the fish to in one episode. It's our favoritest seafood place to eat. They have crispy fish just like I like 'em.

Well, there were three reasons we dressed up so nicely for West Monroe:

1- The dresses were new, we had just bought them the night before.
2- We thought we were going to have lunch at the Cotton Restaurant, and from the web site it looked to be a pretty "schmancy" place.
3- We knew Duck and Dressing was a high end store, and we didn't want to look like "country mouse come to town" walking into the store. :rotfl:

We really enjoyed the food at Willie's, you should try it at least once. ::yes:: But yes, I would not go there for the catfish. :sad2: I totally remember Catfish Cabin and that episode. They ended up trying to sell it on the side of the road, and it stank. :rotfl2:

I'm so glad that you had such a great girls' weekend trip and got to spend some time in my home city.

I totally remember your Duck Dynasty season premier party...awesome decorations and food! We had a conversation after seeing the crowds at the warehouse about how the family must have NO privacy any longer. Do they even TRY to come to work at the warehouse anymore other than filming time? How in the world are they able to get through the door without getting mauled? We thought of the townfolks having to deal with traffic, and stuff now. Living there must be so totally different now since the mayhem started. We noticed that Rebecca has a hired security guard working at Duck and Dressing...even with her not there. (they were all on a cruise...I follow them on Instagram.)

We also contemplated what must have made them agree to do the show in the first place. We know that they had money already, didn't need the money from a show. We know that they have HIGH family values, and Christian beliefs. So, what made them say yes, we will do a reality show? :confused3
Questions that we may never know the answer to, but just pondered while we were there. We love the show, love what the family stands for, and love that they stick together, even when contraversy and the media probably gives them plenty of opportunities to undermine each other. :goodvibes

We also did Bernard's Tours in St. Maarten. We really liked that tour. Ask if you have any questions.

I have heard from many folks that we should be able to get the brunch reservation after we board, That makes me feel so much better! ::yes:: Another recommendation for Bernard's! :cool1: I think we made a great choice in going with that tour for St. Martin. :goodvibes

I do have a few questions:

When you are given a break for lunch, what types of restaurants are nearby? How much $$$ do we need to alot for that (per person)?
Will we need to get foreign currency for shopping and lunch?
French or dutch money?
Would you recommend using a credit card instead?

Well, since St. Martin is mostly French....I am SURE it means exactly what your immature mind thinks it means! ::yes:: :rotfl2: That is why we are taking a paid tour on St. Martin...wanna keep it family friendly!

Lisa and I tried really hard to have a Dismeet, we really did. The problem started with the switch in plans for Friday and Saturday. Friday was going to be a lot easier on her. Her daughter and son-in-law came into town Friday night from out of state. There is NO WAY I could make her feel bad for not coming to see me on Saturday. If I had whined about it, my own Mama would have whooped me! ::yes:: Mama's need to see their girls when we are in town! :goodvibes

Hey there Oopsi! :wave2:

I have been MIA from the boards again but I am back! I am finally all caught up! (Although I did stalk your Duck Dynasty pics on FB! :lmao:)

I can't believe that you guy are so close to sailing! :hyper: I love looking at and reading about your family nights. Your family looks like so much fun! I would love to do stuff like this but my Boyfriend is so not a Disney person..:headache:

He did however finally say yes to a ten day trip! We are going next March! We are also going to do three days at Universal to make it worth his while, but I can't even contain my excitement! :cool1::banana::thumbsup2:rotfl::hyper::yay::dance3::love:

My baby boy turned 8 years old yesterday! :worried: Every other year my kids get to have a "friend" birthday with a big shindig, and every other year they get a "family" birthday with just a family dinner and gifts. This year was Gabe's family birthday. He chose homemade Salisbury Steak with Noodles, Fried Okra, and Ice Cream Cake for his birthday dinner. Not your typical 8 year old, is he? :lmao: I am going to apologize in advance for the poor quality of the pictures. After my weekend away my camera battery was dead, and I did not realize it until I got it out to take birthday pictures. :rolleyes1 So, I had to use my phone for pictures. :thumbsup2

I pulled some decorations out of our party tote to make it bit more special:

Such a poser... :rotfl:

Charity played around with something else I pulled from the party tote:

We had ordered a present for Gabe a few weeks ago, but there was still money left in the present budget for something else. I was planning to pick up some other things while I was away for the weekend, but we came up with a better plan. On Saturday while I was out of town and the girls were still at camp Brian and Gabe had a daddy/son day at Opry Mills Mall. They had lunch and games at Dave and Busters, then they shopped the fun stores: Legos, Disney, Game Stop. Brian let Gabe pick out a Legos set for his other present. Anywho...Brian didn't make him wait to open it, so this is his first present from us:

A Lord of the Rings set. :thumbsup2

After dinner he got to open his other present from us... I got a picture of his reaction when he opened it:

That would be him throwing his hands in the air yelling "Legos Lord of the Rings game!!!!!"

He had been asking for the game for quite a while, so to say that he was excited would be an understatment. He played it last night, and kept hugging us and telling us thank you. I absolutely LOVE that our kids are grateful, even for the little things. :goodvibes

From everyone else (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc) he got some of this:

Then it was time for cake...

It was a great evening...but my baby is eight years old now!!! :worried:
