Hey PM, welcome to loserville...

Home...really really tired! Ugh, have to do another killer day tomorrow!

RV...I do breakfasts mostly, but I love CP's breakfast. I did go to dinner at 1900 Park Fare, which was nice but is princesses.

Hi all

Thanks for letting my chime in, its nice to find someplace to chat a while. Hope everyone is having a great day, nite, and pack safely Fragz.

I just finished dinner. I made pork chops & tomato gravy with mashed potatoes and green beans.

::: insert crickets chirping sound effect here :::

I can just hear the "what the hell is pork chops and tomato gravy". Let's just say it is a southern thing and leave it at that.

Breakfast tomorrow will be biscuits with tomato gravy, if you really want to ponder our strange eating habits...

Yes, I am curious, recipe please, then I can tell if it's something my rugrats (and DH) would eat. :teacher:

Morning!

I'm gonna be a loser mom today. The boy has his white cell thing flaring (he gets a fever, but isn't sick in any way....his white cell count drops and his body produces a fever to get the white cell count back to where it should be).

He is NOT infectious in any way. Soooooo, I plan to load him up with motrin and send him to daycare anyway. I have a Board of Directors meeting I have to present at tonight so I CANNOT miss work. I put my husband on notice in case the fever breaks through and we get the "come and get him" call.

I always feel so guilty when I have to do this.

I am getting my cut and color today:woohoo: waaaaay overdue.

Ds10's wheezing has stopped so he can play again, still on th Advair and the Xopenex until July when we go back. Alhtough he did give us a scare, we dediced to meet my brother for dinner and this way my mom could just go back home with him, and at the end of dinner DS10 said his chest hurt, so we may him sit and relac, (it had vidow games so he was up and donw playing them) we were almost done so as soon as we got home, he did the Xopenx and he was fine. Totally fine.

Gosh this all so new, do you all have to carry your rescue inhaler (and spacer) with you everywhere??????

Yes. I also fill the prescription again as soon as insurance lets me even if I don't need it so I have inhalers all over the place. I always have one in my purse, there's one in the car, one upstairs, one downstairs and one I throw in the backpack. I use the same dosage as my son so whoever has an asthma attack has the inhaler close at hand.

I've had attacks that come on so fast I have a hard time even getting the inhaler out of my purse.

Ok thanks. Does you little man need the spacer too? I am going to have to get a bigger purse:lmao: Those spacer things are like $80bucks a pop. Btw this and the braces this year this kid has cost me a fortune:scared1:

Strangely, I need the spacer!!!!:lmao: Something to do with not learning to inhale properly?!?!? (according to the Dr. anyways) :confused3 I always carry mine with me and also have them all over the house. It becomes second nature after awhile. I've been dealing with this since I was a child so I feel for you all and your kids!!! ;) Good luck with everything!!! :goodvibes

I have asthma too. A couple years ago it was so bad that i was on steroids, Singulair, Advair, and Maxair for about six months. Its been so good lately that I just have a rescue inhaler I've used about 5 times this year so far. Its so strange...one thing that sets me off is that Ralph Lauren Polo cologne, ugh!:confused3

I am sure I will get this all figured out. Just takes time. I guess I need bigerr purses:lmao:

His asthma is trigger related too. What brought this to our attention was last year in Disney was the wildfire smoke from GA.

I can't believe I haven't found this place before. I have found my people:yay:

Welcome. I've always wanted to be somebody's "people". Understand that I have no power or pull anywhere, so I can't be the "I've got people" kinda people. I think I'll shut up now.

I just checked 1900 Park Fare (that's the Grand Floridian, right?) and they've got Mary Poppins, Alice, and the Mad Hatter. I wonder if I could talk them into it. Sounds cool to me.

Yes, I am curious, recipe please, then I can tell if it's something my rugrats (and DH) would eat. :teacher:

I can probably find a recipe somewhere, but here is basically what I do.

Brown pork chops in olive oil, cover and reduce heat to cook through

Cook 4 or 5 strips of bacon in a large skillet
Set bacon on paper towels, but leave grease in the skillet
Add half a chopped onion (about half a cup) and sautee
Add 2 or 3 tablespoons flour and cook for a minute to make a roux
Add 1 can of diced tomatoes
Add enough milk to thin to a sauce/gravy like consistency (about half a cup)
Crumble bacon and stir into gravy

Pork chop goes on plate and spoon tomato gravy on top. You can substitute a can of tomato sauce or one of the flavored (fire roasted, etc) canned tomatoes if you prefer.

 I think guilt is part of the package deal, I just wish it wasn't. You know you are doing the best thing for all of you.

Well, that just sounds like buckets of fun. Here's another

His asthma is trigger related too. What brought this to our attention was last year in Disney was the wildfire smoke from GA.

When he is around, spray things like Windex and stuff INTO the cloth, not onto the surface, to keep it from getting into the air, that's what my allergist said to do...:hippie:

Good morning Losers! Happy Thursday! It is a rainy day in my neck of the woods. Have to work later.
Lara, hope your little man is going to be OK.
Tricia, I thought it was fun to eat at the GF! Lord knows I can't afford to stay there, so that was the next best thing ;)

But I never get the cute pics that you guys get of your little ones hugging Mickey...:sad1:

When DS8 was 4 and DS10 was 6, Spongebob came to one of our local grocery stores. I took em..I swore I was gonna get a cute pic of my boys with SB. So I talked DS4 into standing next to SB, but he wouldn't look at him, and wouldn't get very close. I had to hold DS6 and have someone else take the picture..he was not happy, and that was reflected in the picture.. Lesson learned.
When we took DD the 1st time (2y.o.) wetried and tried to get shots of her with the priincesses. No go. She wouldn't go near them. But she did go straight up to Rafiki and the BEast and other 'scary-looking' characters:confused3

Thanks!

Time to go shopping! And make sure you get a big, EXPENSIVE bag!:rotfl:

THat sounds pretty good. I don't know about for breakfast, but I guess--why not! I will try to remember that one next time I make pork chops. They get so boring sometimes. Do you ever make red-eye gravy? I need arecipe for that.

When we lived in GA (Warner Robins) there was a place we liked to eat lunch. It didn't have a name, it was just a local boarding house that opened to the public for lunch. They served family style and only sweet tea to drink--it was awesome! creamed potatoes, cabbage, greens, all kinds of wonderful southern food, Makes me hungry just thinking about it! If you ever have to go to Warner Robins, ask around, it's worth it.

Alright, I've put it off long enough. Got to finish some stuff around here and then go shopping for a new comforter for DD. Hers is falling apart and has stuffing coming out of it, much to my dog's delight:rolleyes: . Have a great loser day!

Hi Losers.
I hope everyone has a nice day and their kids get better.

RVGal, you must be psychic:wizard: I just came home from the grocery store with pork chops. I've already printed the recipe ready for the chops. These boards are the only thing keeping me sane this week. Monday-my birthday (don't ask which one)- Tues-dd forgot her $2300 tuition bill is coming due and thought we were going to pay it Wed-ds forgot about extra credit science project due fri(defintely needs the help) The whole week mil in hospital so dh has been running there. Today-it's raining again dh forgot to tell me we have to send an extra house payment in this month. Guess I'll just go in the back yard and dig up another money tree.

Thanks for letting me vest:rolleyes1

RVGal-
We did the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in Dec. It was Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Tigger and Pooh and the Mad Hatter (he was HILARIOUS!) DD loved it! (We are BIG Mary Poppins Fans here--my ringtone is "Spoonful of Sugar!") My only complaint (and it's minor) was that they sat us next to the kitchen door (we had the first reservation of the day). They were trying to be helpful since we would be the first table for characters, but it turned out that DH and I were hesitant to leave our seats to go to the buffet because we were afraid we'd miss someone! Other than that, I highly recommend it. Food was good, characters were good...the Mad Hatter is VERY loud, but he was also very aware that the little ones were kind of afraid of him, so he signed her book and moved on quickly. We were able to hear him at other tables, though and thought he was very funny!
