I can't believe I haven't found this place before. I have found my people![]()
I just finished dinner. I made pork chops & tomato gravy with mashed potatoes and green beans.
::: insert crickets chirping sound effect here :::
I can just hear the "what the hell is pork chops and tomato gravy". Let's just say it is a southern thing and leave it at that.
Breakfast tomorrow will be biscuits with tomato gravy, if you really want to ponder our strange eating habits...
Morning!
I'm gonna be a loser mom today. The boy has his white cell thing flaring (he gets a fever, but isn't sick in any way....his white cell count drops and his body produces a fever to get the white cell count back to where it should be).
He is NOT infectious in any way. Soooooo, I plan to load him up with motrin and send him to daycare anyway. I have a Board of Directors meeting I have to present at tonight so I CANNOT miss work. I put my husband on notice in case the fever breaks through and we get the "come and get him" call.
I always feel so guilty when I have to do this.
Gosh this all so new, do you all have to carry your rescue inhaler (and spacer) with you everywhere??????
Yes. I also fill the prescription again as soon as insurance lets me even if I don't need it so I have inhalers all over the place. I always have one in my purse, there's one in the car, one upstairs, one downstairs and one I throw in the backpack. I use the same dosage as my son so whoever has an asthma attack has the inhaler close at hand.
I've had attacks that come on so fast I have a hard time even getting the inhaler out of my purse.
Ok thanks. Does you little man need the spacer too? I am going to have to get a bigger purseThose spacer things are like $80bucks a pop. Btw this and the braces this year this kid has cost me a fortune

Strangely, I need the spacer!!!!Something to do with not learning to inhale properly?!?!? (according to the Dr. anyways)
I always carry mine with me and also have them all over the house. It becomes second nature after awhile. I've been dealing with this since I was a child so I feel for you all and your kids!!!
Good luck with everything!!!

I have asthma too. A couple years ago it was so bad that i was on steroids, Singulair, Advair, and Maxair for about six months. Its been so good lately that I just have a rescue inhaler I've used about 5 times this year so far. Its so strange...one thing that sets me off is that Ralph Lauren Polo cologne, ugh!![]()

I am sure I will get this all figured out. Just takes time. I guess I need bigerr purses![]()
His asthma is trigger related too. What brought this to our attention was last year in Disney was the wildfire smoke from GA.
When we took DD the 1st time (2y.o.) wetried and tried to get shots of her with the priincesses. No go. She wouldn't go near them. But she did go straight up to Rafiki and the BEast and other 'scary-looking' charactersBut I never get the cute pics that you guys get of your little ones hugging Mickey...![]()
When DS8 was 4 and DS10 was 6, Spongebob came to one of our local grocery stores. I took em..I swore I was gonna get a cute pic of my boys with SB. So I talked DS4 into standing next to SB, but he wouldn't look at him, and wouldn't get very close. I had to hold DS6 and have someone else take the picture..he was not happy, and that was reflected in the picture..Lesson learned.
Time to go shopping! And make sure you get a big, EXPENSIVE bag! Thanks!

I can probably find a recipe somewhere, but here is basically what I do.
Brown pork chops in olive oil, cover and reduce heat to cook through
Cook 4 or 5 strips of bacon in a large skillet
Set bacon on paper towels, but leave grease in the skillet
Add half a chopped onion (about half a cup) and sautee
Add 2 or 3 tablespoons flour and cook for a minute to make a roux
Add 1 can of diced tomatoes
Add enough milk to thin to a sauce/gravy like consistency (about half a cup)
Crumble bacon and stir into gravy
Pork chop goes on plate and spoon tomato gravy on top. You can substitute a can of tomato sauce or one of the flavored (fire roasted, etc) canned tomatoes if you prefer.
