Was this a bad move?

I was rethinking my just resently perchased points. I bought intital with SSR with the 2007 points 10% off and my 25% Cast discount for 110 back in june. Then decided this was not enough and added 50 more at SSR about 2 weeks later. The duh came today when i couldnt for the life of me find out why i didnt go for AKV 50 point add on as it was only $100 more and then would have had 2 resorts. Well we all make mistakes. Let me know what you guys think.

With the changes they're making with the booking windows, having a small contract at another resort no longer has the value it once had.

Having all your points at SSR will probably work out OK for you.

I agree....you did just fine! 50 at AKL wont really get you much at that 11 month window so you'd have to wait to 7 months to combine them all and get something meaty at AK.

Only thing is i keep hearing 7 mons stinks to get dates. its just the 2 of us so we dont use many points.

I heard they don't have the CM discount anymore. Is this true?

O think that you will be fine. Having them all at SSR gives you more points to use at the 11 month window at SSR if you want to book a longer stay or a larger villa.

I own at 4 resorts, two contracts. It is a lot of juggling and requires a lot of planning ahead. 50 points in one resort is really difficult. You need to bank and borrow and when there is left over, you need to wait until the 7 month mark anyway. It works for me, but I spend a lot of time making it work. I'm not sure 50 pts would be worth it.

Besides, I have not had any trouble when I call right at the 7 month mark. I think you will be surprised how often you will get where you want to stay.

And don't worry, add-on-itis will strike again, soon. Then you can add-on somewhere else if you want.

First, I think you'll be fine ... you'll always get another case of addonitis later and then maybe you can buy at the building that doesn't exist.

I don't think it is a bad move. You can always add on another 50 points at AKV

FWIW, we've never had issues getting reservations at the 7 month window for all different times of the year. We're making our rounds, too, so it's not like we stay at the same place every time. For me, I'm kind of glad to have my WDW points at one resort. That way, if things do become tough to get at the 7-month mark, I can fully use all my points to book what I want in the 8-11 month window. I would prefer not to move and if that means I have to stay at SSR EVERY time, I have no problem with that!

Don't know why, but this hit me really funny today! We're all holding our breath for the announcement, even though I don't think I'll be buying points there. Just picked up 150 at VB, so I think we'll hold off on adding for a while!!!

Thanks for the advice. An yes the 25 % was the only reason to join. Gonna have to wait till BLV is sold out and then hopefully AKV will be left for me to add on and then they will bring back the discount.
