Earlier today I was at my local gym and saw a guy on the treadmill walking rather briskly while multitasking. When I say multitasking I mean multitasking.
He was on the treadmill with his iPod in one ear, and a Bluetooth head set on the other. While walking his phone rang and he took the call. While on the iPod and phone he reached for the console of the treadmill and grabbed his blackberry and began to text someone. So there he was iPod in one ear, Bluetooth in the other, typing on the blackberry all while trying to walk on the treadmill.
I can only assume he was listening to the podcast and the comment Kevin made about us growing to the size of our container, because at that exact point he lost his step and stuff went flying. As he reached for the rail the blackberry bounced off the treadmill next to him. He lurched forward AND the iPod fell off the console and hit the ground while it pulled the earpiece off his ear. He very quickly did the treadmill jump so his feet were on the sides and of the belt and he was safe.
Needless to say with the iPod and Blackberry on the floor, and his balanced recomposed he surveyed the room to see who saw what happened. The other 20 or so people in the work out room all broke out into applause. We were all glad he was off the phone and more importantly did not end up hurting himself while multitasking.
Ok so unless Pete made an unplanned trip to California it was not him, but I can only image how hard it will be for Pete to shut down the electronics long enough to do the workouts. Good Luck Pete and keep the electronics away from the machines .Don
