I wasn't allowed to utilize resort check-in with ME since my Delta flight was on a smaller craft through Freedom Airline even though it's a Delta flight in my book. Makes no sense as I was able to do this back in Feb, June and July but apparently there has been a change. So check your tickets and be prepared to get your own luggage if you are on one of those flights that aren't labeled "Delta." :sad2:

Well that would apply for us also, as our direct flights are on "Delta Partners" also. Either ASA, ComAir, Chataqua, or Freedom.

Also, they've moved those flights to lousy flight times too with rare discounts.

I guess since we have to schlep our own bags anyway, we might as well drive to Nashville and use Southwest with great flight times, and great fares!!

Our other choice is connecting in Atlanta, and if we do that, we might as well drive.

This is not correct. We have used resort check-in with Comair and Chataqua. If your ticket says Delta you can use resort check-in.

I just flew on Chataqua in late Sept and returned early October and had no problems with this at all.

It must be a recent change. That really is stinky!!

We had a Delta flight operated by Freedom in late September and had no problems using the resort check in. If this is a change, it's a pretty recent one. :confused3

It happened to me this past Sunday. I made a follow up call with the hotel manager and they say it is a new change but gave no further explanation other than "Freedom Airlines is not an approved carrier." It's still Delta so I'm not understanding their rationalization for this. I think it's awfully confusing to only allow certain Delta flights and not all of them. :confused3

oh my gosh we are flying Chataqua on our second leg, we start out with Delta going to Atlanta then Chataqua on the second leg, does this mean this will effect us also?? I sure hope not, oh my.....

Are you talking about going home or coming to Disney??

If you are talking about going home, if your leg from MCO to ATL is Delta, then you "should" be OK.

If you are talking about coming "to" Disney, then it doesn't matter.

going home is to Atlanta w/delta and then on to the Chataqua flight, thanks

Resort check in and ME are two separate things. They do not go hand in hand. Anyone can use resort check in, you don't have to be using ME. The criteria for using resort check in is that your airline must be a "participating" airline.

Ok so let me get this straight...
If we are flying Freedom airlines in to Orlando and taking Magical Express, how do we know if they are picking up our luggage or if we have to?
Also what do we do with our luggage if we can't check it at the hotel?

Ok, maybe I am slow, but I am all confused--- anD panicked! We are flying Delta, AKA FREEDOM AIRLINES apparently, so can we still use ME? IF we do use ME, upon arrival, do we haev to get our own luggage and put it on the bus?!?! If so, ME seems rather pointless- but at least it is free transportation. We will only have one suitcase each, so no biggie I suppose. Oh well, any help/clarification will be appreciated!

If you are flying into Orlando on ANY airline and you have your Magical Express tags on your bags, they will be picked up behind the scenes and delivered to your hotel. Just go check-in at the ME counter and get on your bus!

If you are checking in at your resort and your room is not ready, then Bell Services will keep your bags for you and you can have them delivered to your room at your convenience.

When leaving WDW, Resort Airline Check-in is availabe for those flying participating airlines. Using RAC means you check your bag at your resort and pick it up at your final destination. You can use RAC whether you are taking ME back to the airport or if you are getting to the airport on your own.

This happended to me this past Sunday. I was told that the contract with Freedom airlines will be signed within a week and at that time everyone who uses them or Delta will be allowed able to do airline check in at the hotels that offer this service. I also have a tip for those of you flying back before then - have the hotel concierge print out your boarding passes and then check your luggage at the curb. If you do these two things you will not have to go to the Delta Ticket Counter and encounter a long wait in line. We checked our bags at the curb without any wait at all.

On Friday, oct. 20, Delta aka Freedom Airlines passengers were not allowed to use airline check in at the resort.

Yep, used curb side when we got there. There wasn't anyone else so that was a breeze.

I wasn't able to utilize resort check-in this past Sunday, Oct 21st. I hope they sign that contract soon.

I haven't used ME inbound so I wasn't aware that regardless of the airline they'd get your bags. I thought it had to be a participating airline for some reason but it's all clicking with me now.

For those in doubt, it doesn't hurt to call the resort you are staying at and just confirm you'll be able to utilize the airline check-in service.

Wha???? One of the main reasons I picked the return flight I did (Delta aka Freedom) was so I could use the RAC. I hope the contract is in place by my December trip!
