War and Terrorism discussion board?

If terrorism problems keep popping up in the daily news along with the possibility of us going to war with Iraq, who is up for a new discussion board where we can discuss breaking news stories thoughts and ideas. We could also discuss loved ones who are fighting for our country and also our own struggles with all of this. If something would happen for the worse I would hate to see our Community Board tied up with all these issues. Any thoughts to a new board???

I think it would be a great idea, but unlikely. I personally, don't like to see, read, hear, or look at anything of that nature. It really stresses me out and makes me very depressed.

I think it would be terrific! Then we could come to the CB for 'fluff' and to escape reality every once in awhile -- well -- maybe more often than that! I would visit both boards -- but think it would be good to seperate for those that chose not to 'think' about the serious stuff. Many people come to the CB to get away from the TV and the stories -- so it would be especially nice for them.

Suggestion? Instead of the proposed name, how about a "Current News" board? I'm not sure if Pete is planning on taking down the 9/11 board soon, but this could replace it at some point. All the current news stories could be posted there instead of getting lost amongst the general CB posts. It would be easier to get updates on breaking stories and cut down on multiple posts on the same story. Just an idea.....

I think that's a great idea. I'm not trying to bury my head in the sand; it's just that I can see that stuff on the news when I get home. This is where I like to come during a busy day to relax and de-stress for a while. I'm afraid all this terrible news is going to be a way of life for us from now on, and I'm afraid I'll go crazy if I can't escape it once in a while.

I think it's a great idea... for the folks who don't want to see this stuff everywhere.

I would hope that if anything BIG happened, though, that it would be ok to post on the CB for people to turn on their TVs or go to a news site.
