We are in the midst of planning an indoor Halloween party and would love your ideas! :maleficen Please!

We have invited families, so it will be both adults and kids-with the average age of the kids about 8 years old.

Looking for "cool" :smooth: and "creepy" :scared: ideas for food, games and decorations!

Thanks very much!! :wave2:

There is always dirt cake for dessert. Bumping this up for you.
Thanks-for the idea and for the bump! Lookin' at how "fast" this particular board is going, I sure needed a bump!

Make punch with float eye ball ice cubes, pumpkin craving contest, costume contest, halloween music as everyone enters, and if someone is able to stand outside, hide and scare people as they approach your doorstep, that would be neat.

Many moons ago, when I was but a wee child (8-10) our neighbor had an inside Halloween party. The only thing I'll always remember was sticking my hands in a dark bowl of "guts and eyeballs" which was really only cold spaghetti and meatballs.

Here's a good one!

Buy a new football tee or something similar. Get an unused rubber latex glove and fill it with water. (Add green food coloring if desired.) Pinch it off with clothes pin or rubber band and hang it upside down in the freezer. Once frozen, use a little hot water to remove glove, if it doesn't come off easily. Get a punch bowl and make punch. Place tee in center of bowl and arrange frozen hand on tee where the fingers and hand are 'reaching out of the bowl'. It looks pretty cool and it's even better with a little dry ice thrown in.

For an even cooler effect, you can get one of those plastic cauldrons for a punch bowl. Depending on the length of the party, you may want to make more than one hand.

I like this thread so I´m just bumping it up one more time hoping to see some great replies

Oooh, keep the great ideas comin'!
Has anyone tried the kitty litter cake?!

OK, I'll bite. What in the world is the Kitty Litter cake?

This is along the lines of one of my ideas. I thought of things like "guts" (cold spagetti) "eyeballs" (peeled grapes) and so on...

What sort of containers should I use so they can feel the stuff but not see it? How can I make a game out of it?? What other "body parts" (food) can anyone thing of?!

I think it's dirt cake made with vanilla cookies instead of Oreos. You put in a litter pan, serve it with a litter scoop and garnish it with tootsie rolls.

1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large pkg vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared (I like Bird's® dessert mix)
1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls®

1 new kitty litter pan
1 new plastic kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.

Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!

:earseek: so it may or may not have been cookies I ate?

Maybe get a smaller black cauldron (sp?) to put your guts and eyeballs ( :rotfl: ) in. When we did it the room was pretty dark, but not pitch black, so you couldn't see what was in the containers.

Here is my kid's menu so far:

KITTY LITTER CAKE
SEVERED THUMBS
EYEBALLS
BRAIN MUSH
ALIEN VOMIT

Ok, disgusting & creepy, I know-but all light-hearted and in fun!

Yet I still need ideas!
