I hear ya - I would hate that, I can't imagine anyone is happy ever.

I worked in the old state hospital system for 15 years - loved the patients, its the other employees that I don't miss. I got really sick 7 years ago and doing this helps me feel like I am still capable of doing something. I like the contact with people... well, most of them :rotfl:

Got another "WARNING" entering in time today which actually further confirms to me my way on the last page is the right way to interpret.

WARNING- PRE AND POST EVENT TIME SHOULD NOT EXCEED 30MINS. DO YOU WISH TO CONTINUE?

that to me means 15mins (setup and find kit product), 4-1/2 (between swipe in and out or actually demoing), 15mins to take down and get your crap signed.

but I didn't get that message with:
5 min pre
5 hrs 2 min event
5 min post

total 5 hrs 12 min.

:confused3
i guess i'm going to wait & see what they all decide about this & when they decide to tell anyone. lol

I wound up at 7 minutes over with a few before time minutes and didn't get the message. I am hoping somebody gets an official response this week and posts. I'm not going to call or email because I'm sure they are getting the same questions over and over and I'll just slow down the response. I can't believe I looked at chocolate for 5 hours yesterday and didn't get to have a single piece. The KMart employees swarmed me right around cleanup time for the leftovers! :) I mentioned to them that when I had a tower of t.p. a few weeks ago, nobody wanted to be my friend!

Well I swiped in at 10:40 again, Forgot about waiting till 11:00... Then swiped out at 4:01.... I did put down I was there at 10:35 till 10:40 getting my product and activating my card.... Then it took me 2 minuets to fill our report and report it online... Somewhere right around 5.5 hours, still got message, but I don't want to lie about what I did... It was documented when I swiped in and out...
Oh well, Hopefully they will send out an email and explain it to everyone the way they want us to report it....
I did the South Beach event Sunday, It seemed like no one wanted to even try it... They saw the word Diet and walked on by... Some parents wouldn't even let their kids try because it was diet... They were all whining they wanted pizza..... Only sold 6 total of pizza and cereal bars..... even with coupons,.... Made me so mad.... I am usually good when we have coupons... but not this store.... All the skinny people just turned their noses up...
Oh well, have a great Monday~!!

My husband is a 1982 Cobol programmer and thought the TI990 was the best thing ever built. In 1992 I told him that Windows was the future - he told me I was crazy (I was an accountant, we worked together). In 1995 our facility went to Windows 3.11 and he was hopelessly lost so the accountant had to bail out the computer programmer lol He also told me in 1991, when I needed a new computer and ordered one with a 40 mb harddrive, that nobody could ever possibly fill up 20 mb, much less 40. I bring this up often, usually when he sends 8 mb attachments in email to me.

I knew when I left my job in ‘93 to stay home with our girls that PC based applications in a WAN/LAN environment was the “wave” of the future. My boss didn’t want me to quit and tried to use my “skills” as becoming obsolete in a couple of years as a tactic to get me to stay. I really didn’t care. I’m truly a mainframe programmer and will always love Cobol. My DH who is a “team leader” over a group of programmers in the office I left, tells me all time I could go back and fit right in. Now why would I go back to a job making $35 an hour when I can peddle “chocolate” for $14 hour.

Lparente - Are you in a state that got the $10 raise? I know I’m going “out on a limb” here, but could it be those in the states that got the raise are not getting this “error” message past 5 hours? Maybe that “extra” $10 is to cover the pre/post time. Months ago someone mentioned that approx. 13 states received this $10 increase due to a court settlement.

TMTers - Are we going to have problems with this new reporting system? Remember some Target events where they ask us to swipe in 15 min. early to make sure we’re set up at event start time to show Target what a good job we’re doing. That will put us over the event hours and we know from past experience if we’re 1 minute short of event time, pay will be docked. Thankfully, no TMT events until 10/14.

what you are saying could be right... We didn't get the raise in Michigan and we are getting the message.

Anybody remember the kid announcer who coined the phrase "And boom goes the dynamite!"? Well Mass Connections has now coined the phrase, "and you will be terminated" everything is grounds for termination with them.

Sent Daniel an E_mail today.. lets see what he says:
Daniel~

Several of us are getting a meesage about anything over XX hours is grounds for termination (where XX is your event hours). We are confused at what to do. This is my understanding of what you are looking for:

Time 1:
Arrival at store to clock in time: usually about 10-15mins to find kit and verify product and wait in line to check in

Time 2:
Clock In automatic with debit card use

Time 3:
Clock out Automatic with Debit card use

Time 4:
After clock out, cleaning up, getting forms signed and filling out report form

So for my time I have been doing this to accomidate those above descriptions for an 11-4 (5 hour event)

Time 1: 11am (arrive at store)
Time 2: around 11:15am or sooner if stuff is found earlier
Time 3: around 3:45pm
Time 4: 4pm (leave store)

If we try to clock in at 11am and clock out at 4pm and then add any more time into pre and post areas we get an error message saying that anything over 5 hours is grounds for Termination…

What is it that you are looking for with these new hour reporting online? Is my thinking correct in the bold area?

Hmmmmm on the $10 states. Could be on to something there.
And I thought about the TMT people while falling asleep last night too.

Can't wait for Daniel's reply. Thanks B for asking.

I'm in WI and get $70 for 5 hours. I don't think that I'm in a raise state. My Saturday event at 5 hrs. and 20 min. did result in the dreaded message though!

OK guys, I humbly request your help in explaining the differences between SPi events at KMart and TMT events at Target. I just printed my event instructions for 10/14. It will be my first event with TMT. First, there is no link for a report. Does Target have a different system? Secondly, I was told by TMT that they send the kits to me, but the event instructions say the kit will be at the store. It also says the table will be in the kit at the store. Do I not bring the MC table I've been using? Third, I understand that Target events are always set up at Food Avenue. The Food Avenue at my Target is just after the registers and gets no traffic until people have checked out. Is this true for most of you? I read through all the stuff TMT sent and it wasn't super helpful. I thought it best to turn to the experts! I need some Dove!!

I don't know about reporting, but I did ST with SPi and I'm sure they're somewhat similar. The "kits" are at ST. They are usually coupons.

Target has a demo lead and a demo area (may or may not be in or near Food Ave.) equipped with tables, equipment, cups, napkins, utensils, sale signage, hard plastic warning signs, garbage cans (don't forget that), vinyl gloves - everything you need. You go to that area and set up. Then you either purchase your product with your MC card or make a 75 cent purchase. The demo lead tells you where to be (or is supposed to). If you don't purchase product with an MC card, you get a form to track the items you use. If you're doing meat, you need to save the labels for the lbs. and price. If you're doing items with a UPC cost, they usually have you tally them on the sheet. That sheet and your report form are signed by the demo lead when you leave after cleanup. ST usually has 3 MC people and 3 ST people doing demos at the same time. You need to coordinate your break with them.

ST does not want you to run out of demo product, so if you run out, they'll often find something else for you to demo.

Oh and you should wear your black cap there, but leave your apron at home - they have you wear chef's coats. Be real careful about samples to kids - Target is exceptionally aware of that and allergies, esp. peanut allergies.

My event is at plain old Target, not ST. I read that regular Targets do not provide the chef coat, etc. The report form link showed up. Must have been some glitch that it appeared a few hours after the instructions. The event will have 300 sample size boxes of cereal. The report form asks how many packages were used for sampling and then how many samples were distributed. Would the first one be zero since I am not using actual product from the shelf to sample?

oh sorry! The one and only Target event I saw, the person was using an MC table.

That's an odd question, but I would put 300 I think in the first and the actual number used in the second.

I would set up near cereal too - not by Food Ave. I doubt they'll care.

Most of my events are at Super Targets. Your instructions we indicate where you need to set up. Sometimes events are set up near Food ave those will be very clearly marked. Other wise they want you set up near the product, at the end of an aisle in a high traffic area. Sometimes you need a little creativity since if you need an outlet they may not be exactly near your product.

Just a side note if the instructions say set up by food ave set up by food ave. They aren't looking for the immediate sale. It doesn't make sense but in case I'm audited I'm as near food ave as I can get.

That makes sense. I couldn't imagine people tearing into that sample size box immediately and loving it so much they run all the way back to the cereal section!

I wonder if the instructions for TMT and SPi are different at ST. Mine never said where to set up. I was told where to be once and told to figure it out myself the other times.
