I'm with TMT and SPi and have done two Target events via TMT in one day, at different Targets. They changed the hours for event one to run 9-1 and event two to run 2-6. While I didn't get the same email Pooh Girl got today, I've received similar emails from TMT when events haven't been picked up, asking if we'd want to pick up a second event in the same day.

beanjean - Most of the time, I just wear a hat. But, there are times when a hair net/bouffant is required. This may also vary by store. I've read some WalMarts actually require you wear the bouffant.

My 6/2 Coppertone event is showing unbooked by me!!! I didn't unbook so I guess it was dropped.
I only have 2 events for June.:sad2:

Coppertone / Splashers event in a TORNADO WARNING (or WATCH - whichever is worse) / severe thunderstorms & torrential downpours. :scared: With no kit...and I still managed to sell 4! :thumbsup2 :lmao: No one in the store & nothing to hand out.

Everyone (employees & few customers) were mostly hanging near the front door watching the weather. Managers were walking around with emergency procedures I'm guessing because this is a brand new HUGE store (3 mths old). We were talking about where would be the best place to run & hide. :rotfl: I had my papers signed early by a manager & had everything in my bag & ready to run if I needed to. :) I have pictures of the weather (swirling clouds & rain) & a dead store front end.

I've been trying to post this for over 1.5 hrs, but just keep getting kicked off. I think the remainder of the bad weather is finally out of here.

My 6/2 Coppertone is also listed as "unbooked by me".

And I too received the Target email looking for help on Sunday. Mine asked for people to unbook other stores (ex: Walmart) & book Target instead. And they would rebook your Walmart. Also wanted people to double up on Target if possible. (from Daniel at SPI)

Tomorrow....I get to do Cabot Cheddar Powder at the same store I was at today. We are microwaving popcorn & spinkling on the cheese powder. My biggest fear.....BURNING POPCORN & stinking up Walmart. :rotfl: I haven't made popcorn in this small demo microwave before. I'm also wondering just how much cheese powder we are supposed to be sprinkling into the popcorn bag. What exactly does "liberally" mean? ;)

BTW, my feet feel good today. I guess those Dr Scholl's Tri-Comfort inserts helped.

Knock wood... mines still booked but it changed again... now it says "Coppertone/Cott June Stores"

Just received email from SPI (Cassie Hickman) saying that my event was pre-cancelled by manufacturer. Ahhhhhh, a weekend off. :thumbsup2

Recv'd an emeail from TMT giving me my user name & password- i already have them?? I checked out my ebooking & noticed a link under my ST FlatCrisps event for this weekend- it was info & a test. Anyone else see this?

I used to have Cassie! She's very nice! I have Vanessa now. Have not had to deal with her too much yet.

All the coppertones in my area for 6/2 are now gone. I don't assume they all got booked, coppertone must have xxld them!?

Lucky me I don't have to do Huggies at Kmart on Saturday, instead I will be doing Rosina meatballs at ST plus extra $$ :cool1: .

Splash I wonder if the storm we had yesterday is what you had today. South of the city they had a few tornando's. Hope you have a quiet night and tomorrow a better da. Geez I sound like a cheap hallmark card :lmao:

What is another company besides Mass Connections that does not require you to wear a hairnet?

I am going to be moving soon and there will be no Targets where i'm going, so Mass Connections will not be giving me enough work.

In my experience it's the store not MC that requires the hairnet, MC writes the instructions accordingly.

Unless you are currently working Super Targets (I don't) my work is pretty evenly distributed between WM, Kmart & Target.

I'm another one that is Walmart (super & regular), Kmart & Target. Of those, its only Walmart (super & regular) that require you to wear a hairnet when working with food. I simply put my hat over it & tuck as much of the extra from the hairnet up inside the hat as I can.

You get used to it.

I also picked up a pack of black ones that do not look as noticable as the white ones to wear with my cap. I do hate that white hairnet with black cap look.

Where I am there are two types of companies Demo Sales, Pro Demo Works they pay between 8-9.25 :sad2: and then there are talent and booking agencies that do trade shows, event promotions that pay 17-20 dollars.

I asked Mass Connections and they said the hairnet was optional at wal-mart. I've never worn one when doing a demo there.

Where did you get the black ones? Does wal-mart sell them?

I got the same answer about the hairnets when I asked. I remember it because it was one of the only times Taylor ever answered my email:rotfl:
I've never worn a hairnet at any demos only the hat and I have been with Mass since last May.

I have been doing some demos from Servcorp which is part of Promoworks and they don't require a hairnet either but they are mostly in Publix here in the Southeast. While their base pay is $9/hr they have many events that pay substantially more. I did a Hershey's recently that paid $90/6 hours, Nexus hair care that was $18/ hr, and Ensure that was $14/hr. I've never accepted an event that was less than $10/hr. However, they don't take taxes out of your check so you need to take that into consideration.

And remember, if you are an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, you are NOT covered by anyones liability insurance. So, if you serve somone who is allergic to something, or someone slips on something, or they burn themselves.......guess what......YOU HAVE A LAWSUIT ON YOUR HANDS and no coverage. (Remember back last year someone had a lady fall NEAR her table with no fault of the demo lady. They took all the insurance information about MassConnections....NOT the demo lady.) So either you need to purchase your own liablility coverage..... OR take a big risk & go without. :sad2:

I just had this conversation today with a guy from Promoworks while I was working Walmart.

I'm been contacted by Sunflower Sales Pros & Frasier Wagner just in the past 2 wks. I've passed on Sunflower for now....and I haven't called Frasier Wagner back yet since I don't know if I would be an employee or independent contractor.

I've got to STOP telling people who I work for. I've given out many referral cards, but so far, I haven't seen any points for anyone being hired. So maybe they haven't applied. I don't know why....since we obviously have the BEST DEAL! Its seems like most of them don't use computers at all or very little. Imagine that! lol

Interesting info from all about hairnets being optional at Walmart. :confused3 :confused3

I did Cabot Cheddar Powder today. I didn't burn ANY popcorn. :goodvibes I sold 6 of the Cheddar Powders. I think the price of $3.98 is what turned some people off. It went over somewhat positive however. And as I expected, alot of people asked what brand popcorn I was using. Personally, I think Act II 94% fat free popcorn tasks like cardboard. :rotfl: I much prefer PopSecrets 100 calorie Kettle Corn myself. yum

Leaving Walmart, the non-English speaking door guy wanted to see a receipt for my 1 yr old microwave. :confused3 (sorry bud -- no can do) Since when does WM ask for receipts leaving the store? I had come from the service desk direction. Never been asked at this store before....or even yesterday. I'll be there again Saturday & we'll see then.

I've observed some new AVOIDANCE TECHNIQUES from customers. ;) We all know the "no eye contact" thingy they do. Well, now add...wiping out the cell phone & faking a phone call.
Or agree to buy product VERY early into script. I watch those walk away because I swear they are just going to set it down in the next aisle.
Or the most popular lately (usually on Coppertone).....I just bought some last week OR I buy that all the time. Sometimes, I think people just SAY they buy it so they don't need to listen. Oh well.

Today, when they said they couldn't eat popcorn, I said "good, I'm not selling popcorn"...and proceeded to tell them about Cabot Cheddar Powder any way. :rotfl2:

I get tomorrow off. Woohoo!!! Then work Sat & Sun, then Tues & Wed.

QUESTION ABOUT DOING A DOUBLE AT THE SAME STORE?

Have you ever run that at the SAME TIME? Like just do the 2 products at same time from 11 - 4?

I'm just wondering before I ask Daniel. I'm doing Simply Steam vegies in the microwave...but there are 3 other demos still open. I could pull off something like one of the 2 cereal events that are available. Too complicated to do Yoplait yogurt at same time though.

Its on a Thursday 5/31.

I'm wishing I wasn't doing this darn yardsale Memorial weekend with my Mom. There are still so many Honeycomb cereal off dates. I could probably make more demoing than at the yardsale. lol

All the events I've done have been 11-4. Taylor has told me I can do the 2 events in whatever time frame I want that day
