I know. I don't like that part either. Not sure if I like the idea of being an independent contractor (IC) either. Anyway, they are just mailing me an app. I'm going to think about it & look into what other issues I'll have as an IC. I wonder about all these people who work for multiple companies as ICs doing demo & merchandising work. I wonder if they get 1 insurance policy? The risks are different for each co they work for. I can't imagine that application & how an insurance co would underwrite such a policy.

She did change the date under my events, though.

Thats it. So some of you that have done this before can you please tell me a little more?? Like, can I activate MC card for both that morning or do I have to do it once that morning and then in between??? Also, anything else you can tell me that will help.

Just got home from the grocery and found 1 of 2 Coppertone boxes. Has anybody just had a partial shipment show up before? I'm wondering if the FedEx delivery person just didn't leave the second box. Anyways, the box I received had everything but the Pampers. The T-shirts aren't too bad. They're white with just the words Coppertone suncare products on the front and the back has a larger print Coppertone with the girl having her bottoms being pulled down by the dog. Also, there is a tan Copperton hat.

I only got one box today too!

How do u work 2 events in 1 day? Are there 2 different events for one location on the same day on ebooking? Or do you ask if you can do 2 events that are scheduled for the same location on different dates & they let you do them on one day? I'd really like to know.

I don't know if you can activate both bookings at once. I've always done it one at a time. I personally think it helps to do the events at 2 different stores too. Gives you time to get away from it and re-adjust.

I just realized I haven't gotten paid for any events since my 4/1 event.... that's 6 events... WTH?! I just sent an email... but i was wondering if any of you were seeing such a delay? I know they recently put me under a different person at SPI... I wonder if that's the cause?

Wish I didn't say anything about all the nice Wal Marts.... Today, I was at a store I have been to at least 8 times, Never had a problem, but today, I had my grocery cart near my table as I was setting up my box, I was getting ready to put it up when someone comes over to me and says I am not allowed to use a shopping cart in the store... I said "what?" He said You are not allowed to use a shopping cart.... Again I said "What do you mean? What I am supposed to use to carry my grocery to pay for them?" He said I was to use a rolling cart.... I said I do not have a rolling cart, He said they are in the back,,,,, Well I just started to Cry.... I couldn't believe it, he really wasn't being mean, but it just hit me wrong.... I was doing 2 events today too... Started off my morning pretty rough..... By the end of the day, I was like screw it, I am using a cart to take my table and box to the car, Why get a rolling cart in the back and push it out to my car and then turn around and push it back to the back of the store.... What a load of crap.... But I guess if that is a rule I will live by it....

Ya know, I was just over at Volition.com today & saw someone with the same problem. She didn't say Walmart, she just said big box store. She was saying she's gonna complain to manager that she wants to paid then for walking from car to backroom back to car & back into the store. Others hadn't had anyone say anything to them yet, so they were thinking it was that store or manager. We seem to keep hitting the control freaks.

I use a shopping cart & just get rid of it as soon as I'm done. I haven't had anyone say anything....yet.

No.. but on Volition I remember a thread about Merchandisers (the ones that restock DVD, Greeting Cards etc..) not being allowed to use shopping carts to transport their merchandise in a certain store. ETA: Splsh we must be thinking about the same thread... but I thought it was a merchandiser not a demo person?

If I were you, next time you work that store, just buy the product first, go back to your car & get the rest of your stuff (using the shopping cart)... maybe they had a problem with you carrying around your stuff with unpurchased merchandise ... I can't tell you how many times I've had the cashier try to charge me for my table when swiping out...

Heck, the other day, Mr Sunflower man had a cart next to him the entire demo with stuff in it. I see magazine / book merchandisers using carts all the time while doing their restocking. We are only using the cart for a few minutes compared to merchandisers & OTHER demo people.

That's what I usually do anyway, I buy my stuff, go to the car get my box and kit, and then return to the store to set up, Put up my cart and put out my samples, Oh well. I'll just be careful next time.

I worked from 10-2 and then started right back at 2-6, I didn't want to wait till 2:30 to start working, so I skipped my break.... But I did take 2 bathroom breaks throughout the day and got something to eat really quick...

Ok group, how many consumers do you think will sample Coppertone? I’m wondering if the floor will become “slick” from the spray? The cement at pools is usually rough, but the WM’s around here have a smooth finish on the cement floors. Maybe I should take a towel to wipe the floor down?
