Well my Target really blew a great opportunity today... they were expecting me alright but that was about it.. no chilled product (but there never is so I always bring a cooler), they didn't have my kit, didn't have any idea it was supposed to be there, so I had NO coupons.. thank god I haul extra tables, cups & napkins etc... around with me. And they had 7 12 packs.. that's it.. in the whole store, not even the 20oz ones. I bought 4 12 packs; the other 3 sold out in the first 1/2 hour. So I handed out samples until I ran out, at about 4pm and swiped out... I figured, no coupons, no products to sell or sample.. what was I supposed to do?! Stand there behind a white table (because remember I had no kit!) & "tell" people about the Diet Coke Plus that you can't taste, can't buy & I cant give you a coupon for future use :confused3

I take the empties with me because no one there ever knows how to do bottle deposit return. I'll cash them in at the redemption center machines at a nearby liquor store. They are good & take everything.

I was also busy taping coupons to the 12 pks & bottles. And I made a little sign saying 12 pk was just $1.75 after coupon. I included the free bottle & 12 pk for just $1.75 in my spiel. I think that was the kicker for selling so much.

Also, to my surprise, the LOD who usually insists I set up in Food Ave on the way out of the store.... said I could set up near the end cap of soda. I wasn't even going to try to talk her into it after all the other times she's said no.....and today she just said she didn't care.

I also bought only 4 12pks since the weather was so great...and only used 3.5 of them.
Oh....and the product was chilled. :) They even had chilled alot of 20oz bottles....so I was giving out "cold ones for the ride home". :thumbsup2

Wow, this event was the busiest I’ve worked. There were times I had 10 people surrounding my table. This Target is located close to a college campus which was a majority of my consumers. I bought 6 packs and finished up my last can at 4:55. First time ever I’ve used up all my product. The store had plenty of 12 pks (3 for $10 here) and only 17 of the 20oz. bottles. Needless to say, the 20oz. bottles were gone in 15 minutes and I’m guessing 30 of the 70 12pks. sold.

Now for my beef. My event box had been opened and 100 of my cups were missing. I wish Target would not open up the event boxes. Usually I have more than enough, but today I needed every last cup and then some. Luckily, I’d brought cups, napkins, and a table just incase. Sure glad I did as I ran out of cups at 3:00 and had to go to the van and get more.

Overall, a successful event.:jumping2:

My Target only had 27 cases of Diet Coke Plus. I sampled 6 and sold the other 21. I stopped by yesterday and left a note asking to chill 6 12-packs, and they did! They also knew exactly where the kit was. So that went smoothly.
But I think my sample sizes must have been too small to begin with. I ran out of cups before 4. Since I still had soda left, I decided to spend my own money and buy dixie cups to finish with. I could spend 2 dollars and keep busy for the next hour, or I could stand there with no samples and be bored. I chose being busy!
Used all but two cans from the six cases. I asked and the Coke rep will be in tomorrow to restock, wished he had stocked enough before the event. Oh well, at least I could tell people when to come back!

My store had 58 12-packs and I sold 52!!!! I was so excited!!! I thought I did a great job, As soon as I got through telling someone about the plus, I had to repeat it, I don't think I had a spare moment today, I was always talking, .. I ran out of cups at 4:45.... Used all but 2 cans of coke today, boy was I busy!!!!!
Diet coke plus was a hit today!!!

Sounds like you guys did great :thumbsup2

Not so good here :sad2: It took 45 minutes to find my kit. They brought me the soda (and they weren't chiled) and there were only SIX 12 packs. That's it. No bottles of any kind either. I bought 3 and sampled every single bit. I did sell the other 3. Reaction to the pop was pretty mixed. Either people couldn't taste the difference or they did not like it AT ALL.

man my fingers hurt i need to rember to bring a can opener. used 5 of the 6 cases. i realized that they all said mycoke rewards codes on it so i used the codes from the cases and may be able to buy a can opener through coke.

people seemed to like it i'm not a coke fan but i think i may buy some. i need to start calling my store to have them chill it but i think coke actually delived that morning they were still there putting an endcap together when i got there.

glad eveyone enjoyed themselves.

If anyone who’s doing the Hungry Jack Potatoes event this upcoming weekend and the oblong plastic bowl from the event kit doesn’t fit into your microwave, I found one I think will work at WalMart for $2.78. It’s from Mainstays, 67.7 oz and microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe. It has a microwave vented lid and is 7.5in square.

For you veterans, how do you clean your bowls between batches or do you? I thought about taking paper towels and a wet cloth. Any other suggestions?

Thanks
Kathy

This past weekends events were a washout. It really sucked.

I have had a horrific cold for about a week now (wheezing and such and coughing a lot) Well I doped myself up on Meds for the Saturday SeedsOfChange at some store called better Health. I get there, find all the crap I need and go to purchase the items. Well the total is like $48 and i hand them over the MC card (activated for 60.75) The girl says we don't accept this card. Well shoot, I know my event this weekend they are sending me a check for $60 to cover it because that other health store doesn't take the card. So I just sit there for a second and then call the agency. I let them know that I can't possibly pay that much money out of pocket right then, even if I will get reimbursed in a month or so. So I had to make a $.75 purchase and pay out of pocket and head home. Getting only the show up rate!

Then I had the Diet Coke Plus on Sunday. I couldn't sleep at all the night before Coughing, Weezing and such. So I got up at 11am and felt horrible, none of the medication was working... I called the weekend help and told them I am sorry but as I can't stop coughing, I don't think this food event would be the best idea for me. So they put me down as a no-show with a side note that I was sick. I hope I don't get in trouble as this is my 1st ever time calling off an event the day of because of illness! No-show just makes it sound really really horrible... when in fact, I thought I was being responsible in that not to infect several hundred people with whatever I have! Oh well 90+ events straight without a call-in... I think that speaks for itself, or at least I hope so.

For you veterans, how do you clean your bowls between batches or do you? I thought about taking paper towels and a wet cloth. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Spit 'n' shine seems to work best for me ;)

The ST I did the Diet Coke Plus event at only had 25 12 packs of the soda. I used 4 of the 12 packs and the rest sold. You guys kicked a**! :woohoo:

For the HH Microwave Singles, I just heated the water in the bowl for a minute, then scraped the sides with a fork. The warm water seemed to work better then the cold. Of course, I haven't even looked at the instruction for the potatoes, yet. Do we need water to prepare them?

Add me to list of not having looked at potato instructions or kit yet. But for HH microwave singles, I used wet napkins to do my best at watching bowl as needed. When I went on break, I gave the bowl a good washing in the break room sink using their detergent.

B.Rivers, hope you get better soon. Sorry you had a lousy weekend.

FYI - The 6/2 Coppertone events have been reduced from 6 hrs to 5 hrs. Check your "My Events". Now 11am - 4pm. :sad1:

And I am soooooooo watching for off-dates on all these open events. :thumbsup2

Mine changed too........darn it....

I keep wondering why a big new target in a town not too far from here isn't listing anything. Walmart does, but no target. Ive got 2 towns 20ish minutes from here all with walmarts, 2 with kmarts, and 1 with a target....would like to do a target just due to the box being there not here!

Gonna call today and ask where my welcome box is, all I've received so far is my mc card, and a 3 page instruction on booking events, the pay scale, and a page to sign and return for use of the mc card.....

Course, my first event isnt until the 5th of may, but thats okay!

Brandy

Hey, some more coppertone events are popping up here for 6/23! :thumbsup2

Its only at a couple of stores here, instead of at every store like the other dates. I sure hope we don't become the Coppertone demo people ALL summer. How about some variety here? I think I'm going to hold off booking this new date until I see how some of my other Coppertones go. Besides, there are so many still open, I don't think these will be snatched right up either.

I'm working Sat & Sun almost every weekend in May. The other weekends I have something to do or some place to go. I wonder if we'll be getting some free time this summer like we did last summer. That's DH's & my fun time together for jetskiing & seeing my parents on Cape Cod.

Event instructions now up for the Honeycomb & Cocoa Pebbles event. Looks very easy.:cool1:

Also, the Hershey's Anti-Oxidant Bars opened up at the KMart near me for 5/6. This store use to show up with TMT and it's showing up under the SPi bookings. Wonder what the status really is with TMT?:confused3

Anyone else working tomorrow? Cascadian Farm Oats N Honey cereal & Harvest Berry Granola Bars at Walmart Supercenter. Looks easy enough, but possibly a tad slow event.

It will be my first time at the store I'm going to. Way out in the 50 mile range. No idea what the community is even like.

Have fun & good luck! :)

And just WHEN are they going to list those off-dates. (impatiently tapping fingers......)

I am doing the Cascadian farms event on Friday at WalMart. Then it is two of the Hungry jack potato events on Saturday and Sunday. Busy weekend for me!

Oh and I also booked an event called Lifestyle salads for 6/21 at Walmart? It is a 4 hour event, don't know if anyone else has these available for there area but would be worth checking anyways.:thumbsup2
