Well my store wouldn't accept Mc's card. I used my own. I didn't think I could get anyone interested if I didn't have any wine to sample. I didn't see any weirdo's. I was surprised by the amount of people wanting to sample Cab is a hard wine to sell it's not exactly a sipping wine. Most people liked the Sterling Napa or the Sterling Vinters collection.

Tomorrow I have the Tassimo in my first Target not even a Target Greatland. I have no idea where I'm going to set up the Food ave has no outlet. Should be very interesting.

Actually, they have others too (including the yellow potato salad).

My favorite to demo was the steakhouse, it's yummy!

I love the ABC Liquor store in the Loop at Hunters Creek. That is the one I am doing my label event at. I looked on their web site and it is a 70th anniversary event with lots of free samples, etc.. It is a nice store with tons of great wine.

I know where Hunters Creek is, not where the ABC there is. Most ABC's I'd not go to from 4-8, not when it gets dark so early now.

I hope it goes well! I can't believe all of the issues - can you imagine those people who just started and haven't anyone else to discuss this with? I'd probably just quit, since it sounds like MC doesn't have their act together at all.

Well, survived my Neurtrogena event today! Worked 11am-4pm and ran out of samples about 3:10pm. Why can't these companies figure out that people want COUPONS COUPONS AND MORE COUPONS!! Only sold 1 item but people did seem to like the samples!

Might have sold more had I been able to be closer to the make up~ The way the store is set up, I would have been right in the traffic way and it was a VERY busy day in that store. So I was down closer to the lotion/shampoo/etc...

Saw several "Promoworks" people. They all had buttons on that said Promoworks. All were older ladies. The one near me was doing some chocolate and seemed to be on break everytime I looked over at her!?
She never seemed to approach any consumers either. Just let them come ask her what she had!!

if you sign up for an event, can you talk about it to your friends, or is it a secret? What about to other demo/employees... ie "how do you like doing this? and will you be back? when?"

or at the place you'll set up at like Target, I know I'm not sceduled for a couple of weeks, can you introduce yourself???

Ugg..I hope I have no issues. I can see the printer eating the labels or something. The Loop is pretty nice and busy (Panara Bread, Yankee Candle, Khols, Pier 1, etc..) so I hope the event goes fine.

I can't see anything wrong with telling people. I do it all the time. And when leaving the store, if I know when I'll be back, I say something like "see ya next wk".

Forgot to add to my post yesterday: When I mentioned no Walmart jobs lately, my "competition" said that Walmart doesn't allow demos during the holiday season, they figure the stores are too crowded with holiday shoppers.

Only one minor issue at yesterdays wine event.. they took Debit with no problem & didn't have a minimum card purchase... but they had NOTHING in the store under .75... not even gum. This was definately a higher class store, no beer nuts or cigarettes even. I swiped out with a $1.25 soda & left a note at the bottom of the report. Let them dock me for the .50 difference - even the Proplan events allowed a $1.00 swipe out - I could have bought one of those little airline bottles for .99 at least!

This store definately specialized in wines. I felt vastly under qualified!!. Person after person was walking out of there with cart fulls of wine - one guy spent $551 on about 20 bottles, another guy spent $215 on 3!! I sold about a dozen bottles - mostley of the Sterling Vinter. I ended up taking a VERY small sip of each because people kept asking me what I think of them.. I almost choked on the Edna Valley it was so dry.

BTW, at both events so far they've each had a small wine serving set up so I didn't have to set my table up but the area was SO small & the stores SO packed with stock there was absolutley NO way I could set up the banner etc... I hope I don't get audited & dinged with it, because IMHO they set this event up as if they were all going to be conducted in Grocery Stores that sell wine/beer - NOT locally owned wine & spirit stores.

I have a question... What does product beginning inventory mean?? For the Tassimo they give 0-30.... Are they counter the number of coffee T-Discs? or what?? I had a hard time figuring how much salad inventory I had... I put like 200, but I don't know.. then they want to know how much is left....

Wendy that would be the Tassimo brewers. Most stores are not going to have more than 20, my last store only had 5. So that is why the low number.

Oh home sweet Target yesterday. I did the holiday meal demo, I had the ham portion. Sold out of every ham. Now that was a great demo after my demo from H**L at the corner liquor store.


Off today to do the Tassimo event thank goodness for a nice, easy 4 hr event. I am kind of tired!!!

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday. There were at least 3 people from Stearns/Promoworks. I didn't see anyone from MC. So, they must let the other demo companies during the holidays or is it just too early in the season and later they won't let anyone demo

I did a Walmart yesterday, Salad... and I saw another MC there, plus 2 other from Promo Works....

Thanks MaMa3Princess, What if I had the Salad one... I had to buy dressing, baby spinach, packs of Salad Jazz and croutons.... Which one should I have counted... I think I was trying to sell the Salad Jazz.... They had a lot, And I only sold 6, I think I put down I sold six but had 45 left out of all... So I guess I did that wrong... Will they call and ask questions/??

Another question, I have been doing ST and they are great, they have the tables and everything... So Friday was the first time I had to put my stuff on the floor... IS that what everyone does, You have to set it on the floor before you go to break? Is there any of place we could put it???

drgnfly30 at yesterday's wine event the store where I was at didn't have anything to check out with either. Since I had used my own money I returned the last unopenned bottle of wine. I used that as my ck-out it has my time on it. I certainly hope they read the notes we write on the forms.

I received my paycheck yesterday. 4 events. And I was paid with no problems for all 3 of those Scotch Brite events -- even the 2 that I did run without the display even though instructions said not to; and I had left many messages for V, who never called me back.
