I received an email from SPI yesterday soliciting me to sign up with them. I was with The Merchandising Team a while back. I can't sign up since I'm due in 8 weeks, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up to look out for an email if you are with The Merchandising Team.

remind me, due to lack of sleep I can't think, how much am I going to make for a FOUR hour event this weekend??:confused3

Four hour ondate booked at ebooking is $56.00.

I did the Kotex/ Schick Quatro this weekend and only sold 2 razors.:confused3
The kotex were flying off the shelf. There were 150 packages when I started and 6 when I left. It went really fast. The kotex coupon was great. A free 14-24 count package.:thumbsup2
This weekend I'm doing the Scrubbing Bubbles at Kmart. After that I have nothing the rest of the month and nothing so far next month.:(

Please help...I have been reading this thread for about an hour now. I went onto the spi site and read thru the info but it doesn't answer all my questions. Do you pay for the merchandise yourself? Do you have to contact the store manager ahead of time to schedule or is that already done for you? Is your salary guaranteed or is it based on the amount sold? What exactly goes on once you get the job & receive the marketing materials. Can a person ask any more ?'s???

This sounds very interesting & I am interested. I really tried to find answers to my questions in the thread but there are so many responses I figured I would be better off starting fresh.

OMG that video was hilarious!!!

styx, welcome to the thread; to answer a few of your questions...
1.when you are hired you are given a debit card that you have to activate, it has the amount on each events so that you can purchase what you need. On occsaion your card may not work and they will refund your purchases but that happens very rare, i dont hear complaints of cards not working alot around here.
2.You dont contact anybody, half the time they dont knwo you are coming but you can find your stuff, if you dont and cant do the event, you still get arounsd $28 for showing up.
3.You are paid a set amount based on the hours of the event, it doesnt matter if you sell a lot or not. I have heard that i think some events have a contest for who can sell the most but no you wil be paid regardless.
4. its pretty much sign up and learn, you will apply, they let you know, they give you a loggon for a website and you go on and book w/e jobs you want.

On another note, I got my kit for Chuck E. Cheese Cheese strings this weekend, anybody else doing this??? Looks very colorful..lol

On my break yesterday, I put all of the cups and everything behind my table, and put my "on break" sign up. I even put the 3 unopened 2 liter bottles behind my table. When I got out of the bathroom, I looked over at my table.. Some customer was standing behind the table. She had taken the cups out from behind the table, opened all 3 bottles, and was pouring samples for everyone.

That's pretty bad!! pssst.. you don't get a break for a 4 hr event, unless you really really gotta go :)

Yikes! :crazy2:

Gosh, what a slow day, Biscuits again today, but only about 110 people came by and I only sold about 10 cans.... I had to throw away so many biscuits, but if I didn't keep cooking them, they would not be ready when someone wanted them... I was cooking 2 at a time... Oh well, I got another one tomorrow, hope it is better...
Oh by the way, I got a speeding ticket today, that really sucked, I was just driving with traffic not paying attention, everyone slowed down before I did and I looked to my right and there was a cop with a radar gun right at me, he pulled out and got behind me, Oh great...... Well this is my first one ever .... I was going 61 in a 45..... A little too fast.... But that is what I get for not paying attention...

Has anyone seen Scrubbing Bubbles as an off-date event yet? I'm scheduled for the event Saturday and there is still a Dr. Pepper open in my area for the same date. I'm thinking about calling TMT to see if I can unbook Scrubbing Bubbles for 3/10 and do it as an off-date and then doing Dr. Pepper Saturday since no one is picking it up.

Sorry about your speeding ticket!:worried: I got one a couple of years ago and I was SO mad about what it does to insurance rates :scared: That I REFUSE to get another one and pay the city or insurance company and more of my hard earned money! So anyway, I watch my speed like someone with OCD now!:drive:

Kotex is boring as an on-date... It is down right killer doing it as an off-date!

All I have is the $1 off coupons as the Free package coupons expired on 3/4/07... What's the point of doing off-dates for events when the main coupon expires the day after the on-date event.

Anyways, I forgot my camera yesterday (took some pics on my cell phone) but I did bring it today, so we will see how that turns out.

I am not looking forward to these next three days doing this Kotex as this is the worst event ever excitment wise.

At least the paycheck will be sort of nice $200 before taxes on these 4 events.
