Geez, after reading your posts today, I'm NOT looking forward to doing diet dr. pepper at Target next week!:sad2:

ldb1030 Don't be scared. You'll do just fine, we like to complain sometimes. The Pepsi Jazz confused a lot of people. They thought it came diet and regular.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I liked that extra cardboard thing too. It will also be nice to use when you have no posters....instead of a tableclothe. It finishes off the front nicely.

I keep forgetting to mention. This makes 2 Target kits in a row that I didn't get MC signage. (No samples under 14......) Any one else? Instructions said it was supposed to be in there...but not. I'm going to have to start bringing some I guess. I've got some leftover from here & there.

I can't wait to start! Thanks to fellow DIsers I signed up w/ TMT & MAss connections. I sent all my paperwork in & now i'm waiting. On Friday i was told that TMT was in the middle of moving- I hope they call me tomorrow. I received a message from the person at mass asking for a phone interview & i called back (2x). Hopefully i'll know more this week.

Wow, my event was nothing like any of yours... I had 72 bottles in stock, plenty of each flavor. I bought 6 Caramel, 3 Black Cherry and 3 Strawberry... just so that I could have enough for the $.75 clock out.

My ending inventory was light 5 cases of 12pks and only 13 bottles left.

Nobody else can actually use my camera correctly! Notice the difference in quality!

I never knew what that extra cardboard thingy was (I placed it behind the trash can... :lmao: I have it still, so well I know to use it now for next time!

My car died last week, so DMom dropped me off and DH & DS6 picked me up. I told Mom," Don't leave until I'm sure I'm going to stay." They didn't have any 2-liters anywhere. But they had 4 chilled 12-packs. My table was behind CS desk. So as far as Target goes, I was set. Just told everyone to hold on to coupon for 2-liter until it came in.

As far as customers go, :rolleyes2
One guy kept walking by and asking the other customer that were sampling if it tasted like Mountain Dew. A lot wouldn't try because of "too much caffeine". When people would set their emtys down, I would just tell them the trash is behind me where it says "Thank You". Some would look under my table for trash where I kept the extra cups.

But this one older (80's) lady really takes the cake. She walked out of Food Ave with a purchased soda cup in her hand, walked passed the 4 (FOUR) trash cans, headed for the door, stopped, turned, and set her purchased soda cup (with lid & straw) on MY TABLE!!!!!!, turned again, without saying a word, and walked out. I just said "Thank you!"

Splsh, I know I'm supposed to stay in my own state, but when you go on your vacation, can you stop by OH and pick me up?

Thanks... but as with the raises across the company.... They just don't come to Michigan... :sad1:

But I do appreciate the complement :goodvibes

Sure, but you have to figure out where we are going....and there can't be ANY stupid people there. Deal?

My Diet Pepsi Jazz went pretty well. No chilled product, but the
manager apoligized and told me he "dropped the ball on that one". He looked shocked when he realized he had forgotten it!!!

There were about 140 bottles and only 15 at the end! Lots of cans sold too.

People's opinions were all over the place. Numerous people told me they hated a certain flavor (any of the 3) then would try another and rave about how good it was! I think I got the most complaints about the caramel, but the others were a close 2nd and 3rd. Still sold 43 bottles of the caramel cream. Also had people not realize it was diet, and then ask where the regular Jazz was. I finally started saying there was an artifical sweetener because of all the sugar questions.

My worst customer: the manager had me use their demo table and he taped the pepsi sign to the front. I didn't know the sign came lose during the event until a woman decide the part that had popped away from the table was my trash container:confused3! I saw her lower her hand and heard her cup hit the floor. Then she did it again, but with an almost full cup. So of course I had to clean the floor, retrieve her cups and tape the sign back in place. Why she thought it was the trash, I don't know!
Strangest customer reactions I've ever had! Kept it interesting.

When I'm in the ST the demo carts have a hole in the top for cords. I can't tell you how many people think that is garbage. I have to put something to completely cover the hole or they will move the items. I have a huge garbage can next to the cart :confused3 You have to love people:lmao:

My diet Pepsi Jazz sold really well, too. It was a super easy event, but four hours just isn't long enough (or enough money). I'm taking off for a few months at DH's urging. With my new job, I've been working 7 days a week, so I'm ok with that. I'll miss the money. Enjoy the Spring events!!

How do yo do it?? How can you sell so many bottles... The highest number of anything I ever sold was 33 and that was with a coupon..... I work real hard but never seem to sell out or sell a lot... I did sell out of Grands this weekend, but that was because there were only 11 cans... What is the secret????

I didn’t know what the extra cardboard thingy was either so I recycled it with my outer box. :confused3

I have not received the MC signage (kids under 14, allergy alert) with my last two kits either. I took one to Saturday’s event, but forgot yesterday.

As much as I try to prepare in advance, I’m beginning to wonder why. After sore finger tips from last week’s Enviga cans, I knew a “gripper” to open 2 liter bottles would be needed to save the side of my finger opening liter bottles. Took the “gripper” and guess what? They didn’t have 2 liter bottles - just cans. :sad1: Left my can thingy/opener at home. Guess I should have taken both

Brivers - Your tables always look so nice. :thumbsup2 I was setting my cups on top of individual napkins, but your way is much better. Most customers never took the napkins when they picked up the cup.

Customers: I was at two different Targets this weekend. One close to OSU college campus and the other close to my area that attracts more families. The one close to the college campus had "packs" of 4+ “kids” coming in and tended to walk right by my table. This Target’s Food Ave. is where you come in the store. Had one over 40 man try and stick his hand in my chip bag. I had 3 samples on napkins on the table. I didn’t offer him a sample from the bag. Had he not seen a sampling station before? Why would you reach for the sampling bag I was holding? :crazy2: The other biggie: Samples of 3 - 4 chips were on individual napkins and people would take one chip off the napkin and leave. :crazy2: This happened a lot. Now the Target close to me with the families. While parents are checking out, they send their kids over to get samples. I politely let the kids know they need to be 14. Mom finishes checking out and comes over to say how stupid it is for her to have to give them samples and tells the kids to get what they want. :bitelip: The kids start grabbing everything in site like they haven’t eaten in a week. That’s one reason I don’t like to leave samples on the table. Yesterday, I left 2 samples out of each Pepsi variety and many took a sample of each which was OK, but I almost ran out of cups.

Inventory - There were about 75 packages of Flat Earth Crisps on the shelf. About an hour into the demo, the Frito Lay vendor showed up at my table with 8 cases of Crisps asking where I wanted them. :confused3 The manager took care of the issue. When I went to check the shelf after event was over, the shelf was now fully stocked so I had no idea what sold. Took a guess at 25. As for Diet Pepsi Jazz - no liter bottles in stock and only 13 12pk cartons available for sale of which I used 3 for my display.

Kits - No kit for Flat Earth Crisps, so no coupons. :sad1: Kit was found for Diet Pepsi Jazz.

Reactions: “Interesting” or “Different” was used to describe the Caramel Cream Jazz which usually meant they didn’t like it. Most liked the Black Cherry French Vanilla best. Very positive response to the Flat Earth Crisps. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a coupon to give them.

Trash - If I see people walking away with an empty cup/napkin or if they set it back on the table, I tell them where the trash is.

Two events for next weekend then nothing.

Same thing for me. I always cover the hole, or else I end up cleaning up a mess!
They put clear plastic shields on the front of our demo carts last fall. I love these, because it's harder for the kids to grab the samples. The demo carts are taller than our tables, so that also helps to control the grabby kiddos!

This was my best event ever for selling. A lot of people had seen the ad, and came in because of that. Having a coupon for B1G1 Free helped. But I think soda usually does pretty well. When I did the Jones at Target, there were quite a few sold.
But last week when I did the mini burritos, I only sold 3! So, don't be discouraged! A lot also depends on your store and it's location, plus the weather.

I didn't either! Thought it was an oversight. I guess not.

BTW- I got an email from my company (TMT) and they are going to let me "double dip" and log in to the site with an SPI code, so I can look in my area for SPI and TMT jobs! Pretty awesome since it just now dawned on me that I should work both weekend days during Spring Break since I can't work at my other job those days! Spring break is two weeks away here so I was bummed until I saw that email.

Did you receive a User Id and password yet for the SPi bookings? My email on Friday was from MC/Spi asking if I was interested in SPi possibilites and if I was, I had to respond to that email and my application would then be forwarded to SPi. Then, I'd receive a Welcome Packet and user id and password to book events through SPi. The email didn't say, but I figured it would take a couple of weeks.

Well This afternoon starts my four day onslaught of Mr. Kotex. This shall be fun. however I don't think I am going to like working four 13 hour days and one 9 hour day this (not including this weekends 6 hour levi's/slim fast event on saturday) without getting OverTime.
