I had no problem booking off-date just now and it's 8:36am here!:thumbsup2
All were still open so I got the store I wanted for 10/25!:woohoo:

I knew there was only one off-date coming, so I was up in the middle of the night booking it, too!

Anyone doing Campino candy this weekend, let me know how it goes, I'm doing it next weekend. I'm thinking it's got to be an easy one.

Anyone doing Campino candy this weekend, let me know how it goes, I'm doing it next weekend. I'm thinking it's got to be an easy one.

It was easy and fun - everyone liked the candy a lot. I had better luck getting people to buy it once I said it was the same company that makes Werther's Original and set a bag of that beside the Campino on my table. It's made in Germany, just like Werther's. It was $2.38 a bag at my store (reasonable).

The store mgr. wouldn't let me set up in front, she wanted me hidden inbetween displays in a center aisle, so I filled the two small apple baskets I brought and walked to the front as people came in and then met anyone who was looking at hard candy. The store had the Campino hidden on the bottom shelf under the bags such as Hershey's 100 Calorie boxes, etc. - all the hard candy was in it's own aisle in front across from checkouts.

The table cloth is nice - its Walmart blue and a decent size. The folded display board is nice too. Out of 600 pieces of candy, I only had less than 100 left and this was one of the original small Walmarts in Wisconsin (not super). It went over biggest with the retired crowd. I left half of what was left at the service counter and half at the pharmacy counter because they weren't using a greeter.

Boy did I feel sorry for a Sunshine person - she had the Glade Flameless for 6 hours and no coupons (and a huge display - took 2 full shopping carts to bring it in). They get a chair and can sit down though.

How's that? lol - TMI probably!

what does off date mean???

It means you can select another date after the scheduled date - it happens when a job hasn't been booked for the scheduled date. The pay is cut though (I think around $8-10, but can't remember for certain). Most Super Targets don't do off-dates. Some of the other stores that usually do weekends-only might let you select a date in the middle of the week though, and that works better for some people, and others here who had a job booked for the scheduled date, can also grab that job for another day.

Just back from Garnier/Maybelline. Had a little “shoplifter” today. While I was talking to the mom, the daughter (age 11-13) was slowly swiping the wrinkle cream sample and putting it in her pocket. Of course I saw what she was doing. I gave her “the eye” and she stopped. Wonder what else she swipes?

Sold 1 Wrinkle cream at $13.72 and 2 mascaras at $6.78. Better than I would have thought. It was just as well I didn’t receive the “Rewinder” product as the store didn’t even have it. Well, I’m off until next Saturday.

Ok, what is it with people & going "ewwww" on any product that has the word yogurt in the name. :confused3 Same reaction with Sam's Choice Yogurt Cream Cheese a few weeks ago. Really......its not going to kill you.

Campino: sold 9 out of 19 bags. $2.38 & located on bottom shelf also. Also had about 100 pieces leftover. Since the allergens were MILK, SOY & WHEAT & I had a few people not take them because of that, I felt VERY uneasy leaving candy with greeter (who hardly speak English sometimes) or anywhere customers could take on their own. The individual wrapped candies didn't really say what they were or the ingredients - only said Campino...not even Yogurt & Fruit Hard Candy. I gave them to the manager & explained that to him....and he agreed that putting them out was probably a bad idea. I'm sure they'll end up in the breakroom which is probably a safer idea.

Oh...and the store is dead at 9am. It didn't start picking up till 10am. Busy by noon. Once I figured out I was going to have alot leftover, I started telling people to take 2.

Here's my other demo lady of the day story. She was from another company & handing out new Sun Chips cinnamon. I never once saw her at her table. But I did see her walking the store with a carriage shopping & chowing down on a bag of Sun Chips cinnamon. Hers? Product? I didn't want to know. ewwwwww. All I know if she was sticking her ungloved hands in there & eating....and offered me some as she came by my table. :scared: Later when I was doing my shopping, she still wasn't at her table. BUT, she had about 15 cups of chips out & the bag flattened on the table. Of course, people were taking a chip out of the cup & leaving the rest for others. So basically, 3 people were sharing a cup.   Obviously, I didn't try any of those either. I really wanted to say something to the manager, but didn't. I probably should have. This wasn't my usual store.

And I smartened up. When she & another person asked where I was from, I said the name of our agency instead. I tried googling that last night & I never found us or the agency. That might be a safe answer for a while. lol

Thanks, LanaJae and SplshMtn99 for the updates on the Campino.
I took an offdate on this, so will be doing it twice.

I agree! What's up with yogurt?
Also, don't make a face at me  or go ewww, just say "no thanks' and move on.

Oh GROSS! What is wrong with people! I would've definately said something to her about the customers taking chips out of the cup, that's just sickening and you know her company would have a fit.

Good point about the allergens, I didn't even think about that, but I had so few left that I pretty much know the employees pulled them behind the counter as soon as I left. I had very few ewwws about the yogurt idea, but the ones I got all came from people in their late teens/20's.

Speaking of allergens, I hate doing anything with peanuts because I've got a neighbor boy with a severe allergy - we don't even allow peanuts in our house so that his brother can play here with my daughter. When I was doing the Curves bars, one mom asked me which one didn't have peanuts and I said, "wait! is your child allergic?" She said yes, and I said don't touch any of them, I'm using the same cutting board and knife for both types. She looked at me like I was an alien. If someone had an allergic reaction because of something I was demoing, I don't know if I could continue this - I myself have to carry an epinephrine inhaler everywhere I go because I'm allergic to the preservative in epi-pens.

I could get used to doing 11-3 instead of 11-4!:thumbsup2 Don't worry about not having the age rewind stuff...no one seemed interested in that at all! In fact it was pointless to buy the Q-tips cuz no one wanted to try it!
I did sell several mascara's because I found the ones they had that came w/ a free eye-liner! People liked that!

People liked the sample of the Garnier also but did not buy any! Makes sense too! Don't you like to TRY a sample when you can before you buy it!? Duh!!

Oh and as I was leaving, the lady at the door wanted to see my receipt........I told her I was a demo-lady and did not have a receipt for things that belonged to me! She could not get that through her head!:headache: Finally she gave up on trying to figure it out! Hmmmm, she works for wal-mart and has never encountered a demo person before!:confused3

Okay, help from all of you that have been using the on-line reporting...this is my 1st time for the new system.
It says when you swipe in/out using your MC card, the times are automatically filled in.........okay so what do you do it the times filled in are wrong!:confused3 The system shows me clocking out 4 minutes earlier than what my receipt shows...and I KNOW the receipt is right because the girl checked her watch as I was swiping out!

My receipts have consistently been 2 minutes different than what fills in. Ex: 11am - 4pm is 5hrs. 11:02am - 4:02pm is still 5 hrs. So I leave it alone & go with what filled in. I figure there's a time delay somewhere in their "real time" swipe in systems.

I looked for that 2qt Rival crockpot today. They had it on display, but no boxes & no more out back. :sad1:

Thanks Splsh! I'll just leave as is and figure MC must know what's going on w/ this new system by this point!

I met PrincessMichelle today :goodvibes

This was my first ST event and I am in love with it. OMG talk about peaceful. :hippie: There was a corporate MC person there. It threw me for a loop let me tell you. She mentioned that they were thinking about raising FL pay again. Not sure yet though. I had sausage and somehow gave out 220 samples of the stuff. I was getting 7 samples per sausage. 5 sausages per package and 6 packages samples. Not bad :woohoo: The corporate MC person took my oh-so-attractive picture and complimented all us CC people mutliple times. I'm sure I'll look great considering the coat goes past my wrists and nearly hangs to my knees. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well tommorrow is smore's bites. At least I know where to go.

I'm surprise that that Mother wasn't more careful. A couple of events back I had to cancel my event because it contained cashews. I am very allergic to most tree nuts. I didn't know about the product since the event was just titled Tropicana orange juice I had no idea they would put something else with it.

Speaking of people who find it necessary to make gagging noises or wrinkle their nose at the products. What happened to just saying no thanks. I have to throw more product away because someone is already handling(grabbing) the sample before I can rattle out the description of what they are about to eat.

That's cool about meeting PrincessMichelle! I wish there was someone close to me from here.

If the corporate MC person said she'd upload the pic of you, don't hold your breath - mind didn't, so I lost a point.

I was suprised too because my neighbor would never even bring her son (he just turned 3) into a grocery store.

That's terrible about the cashews, something should've been written about it ahead of time! Have you had that since you were a child? The neighbor boy could go anaphylactic from just the dust of dry peanuts that they have all over in those huge open bins in the store.

When my 11 year old started elementary here, there was one child with a peanut allergy, now I think there are 20 or more and they still haven't banned them from the school. I think MC better rethink some of their demos that include peanut and tree nut products - even the Chocolate Chex one had the risk of peanuts.

Another product you can check out is the Rival Hot Pot Express. It’s specifically designed to heat up to 32 oz. of liquids quicker than a microwave. :thumbsup2 I used the one I’ve had for 15 years last week instead of a crock pot to heat up the Muir Glen Chicken Noodle Soup. It worked great. :) I’m thinking of using it instead of my microwave for the Pink for the Cure demo that has us using a microwave to heat up the Progresso Soup.

Did anybody notice the front page of today’s Target Ad? Archer Farms High Protein Cinnamon Cereal is one of the featured products. That was the demo scheduled for today that got cancelled on us. :sad2:
