Well I actually see that event, I guess my little talk with my scheduler worked. To bad I already had an event at Super Target and I am not going to mess with it!!

Splash I am glad you posted about the Toaster because I was surely thinking that I would bring my toaster oh well I will be good and bring my toaster oven.

Huh? I had that booked a few weeks ago for 8/18 & then received an email that the client had cancelled the event for Kmart.

OK...... I just went & booked it AGAIN. Same store & everything. We'll see what happens.

I'll bet there are going to be ALOT of off-dates for this one. Fingers crossed.

FYI: I saw a cardboard display of these at Kmart last week. They are like $10 each. I hope those coupons are good!!

LOL....the directions to set up the event display look just as bad as the ones for the Glade Light Show event.

Huh? I had that booked a few weeks ago for 8/18 & then received an email that the client had cancelled the event for Kmart.

Yeah--I had booked it then unbooked it to do an event at a ST closer to home and still got the email about the cancellation. Guess they changed their mind again?

I just unbooked my Scotts event for 8/18 to book the Glade. This is my first event. Have I made a major boo boo by unbooking so soon after being hired? The Glade is an hour longer and much closer to home.

I'm taking a small pair of scissors tomorrow to cut open the packets of icing for the Toaster Strudel. My kids use the scissors to open the packets at home and they don't have gloves on.

I unbooked my very first event because I realized I hadn't received my starter kit yet at the time & knew I probably wouldn't. I think I might have emailed them asking when the starter kit would come & explained why I unbooked.

Don't know about your reason/situation though.

Not here. There are still 6 more in 40 mile range. I wonder if some people have set up networks of friends in some areas / states. When one sees an event, they call the others. It does seem your area gets the word out fast.

If there is--I wish they would let me join!!!! I thought about seeing how many people from this post are in the NW GA area and starting our own little email/notification system. But posting to here seems to work ok. Now my old zip in MD has TONS, SCADS, LOADS of jobs. They must be really under-represented!! Next time I plan a trip home I am going to try to snag a job or two while I am there. I always seem to have free time as most of my friends and family work so we usually do stuff in the evenings. I could at least make my gas money back!

I kept getting invalid username when I tried to log in. I sent email after email to Taylor and she wouldn't reply. THREE weeks later she finally answers me and tells me I am no longer qualified. No reason why though. I figure it must be the last weekend I worked and couldn't find the store that didn't exist. No phone number on the store report form. Stopped and asked several people and they said no Harris Teeter on that road. Called the help desk and they never called me back. None of this was my fault and I don't think it's very fair. I personally think Taylor is nuts.

I guess I'd be on the phone to SPi for an explanation. If necessary, I'd ask for Taylor's supervisor and I wouldn't be leaving a voicemail for them to get back to me. Your assumption is probably correct on why you are no longer "qualified", but I'd be talking with them to get answers. If I remember right, you asked earlier if Daniel Arruda was now covering VA. According to the staffing map, Taylor is still your contact.

You can apply directly to TMT www.themerchandisingteam.com or try some of the other agencies in your area if you can't resolve the issue with SPi.

Out of curiosity, did you ever check the stores chains website to see if you were provided the wrong address or anything? http://www.harristeeter.com/default.aspx?pageId=158
You can click on the red dots to find the stores too. Heck, if you find the store listed on their site, I would call the ph# provided & confirm the address too. Then I would report any decrepancies to SPI. ESPECIALLY that they didn't give you a store phone # to call for directions when not found!!!

That's just rotten! I'm sorry this happened to you. What about that Sunflower group? Are they available in your area? They seem to be busy where I live.

I tried to get answers. I emailed Cassie several times since she was the only one who would talk to me but she just told me I had to talk to Taylor. I finally called the Help Desk which I think is what finally prompted Taylor to email me back. I explained to Taylor originally what the problem was with the store and what was I supposed to do about the no show pay since I didn't have any receipts. She told me she'd tell payroll to make sure I'd get paid. That was the last I had heard from her.

I just checked the website for the store. I called the nice man at customer service and apparently the road the store is located on is split in 2 sections. I was on the Wal-Mart section. They are on the Courthouse section. If there had been a phone nu,ber on the form or the help desk had ever called me back then none of this would have happened. Oh this just makes me mad!!

How do you get hooked up with the Sunflower group? I looked on the internet but that seems to be for stores. I did get hired by NCiM (New Concepts in Marketing) but they only pay $54 an event. They do have events every weekend at my local Ukrops grocery store so that is a plus.

Same results using Toaster oven as toaster when baking the Toaster Strudel - Cold inside. It wasn’t frozen, just cold. We always brown them in the toaster then nuke them for 10 seconds. Since we don’t have a microwave, I think we only have two choices to get a warm inside: leave product out for 15 min. before toasting or turn product over and toast again. By the way, the directions say not to remove product with a metal utensil. I’m leaning towards leaving the product out. What’s your thoughts. And by the way, the strudel didn’t stick to the foil.

I’m driving car pool for band in a few minutes since I can’t do noon pickup , so I’ll check back in about an hour.
