My sales were low too. Not really sure why.
I got very lucky on where I set up & found a super cool idea for whenever we don't have enough cooking room on our tables. I took a picture because I knew I couldn't explain it.
I too cut the cooked PTS, THEN put the icing on. Worked nicely. Thanks for who ever had that tip from doing the cinn rolls before.
This is the corner where the plug was near the product. See that hanging shelf?
My table was adjacent to it & I cleared off part of a shelf same height as table & used it as countertop space!!!!!!!!

I just lined it with foil. I had my potholders, scissors, knive, napkins, icing & wet papertowels.
Here's my display. I had the black basket with me for napkins, but when I got there I realized I didn't have any room for HH samples, so I used the basket. PTS display box on top of toaster oven. Covered top of toaster oven with foil for cleanliness & placed samples there...they stay warm too. Next to that, stacked Wanchai Ferry product with info.
Problems:
Too many products to talk about....and very long scripts for each. People don't want to stay that long to listen.
Some people didn't realize the HH samples were free even though I called them samples & encouraged them to take one.

I didn't want to keep removing gloves to hand them out & have to put gloves back on.
And again, I just don't know why people weren't buying today. This could have been my worse sales day yet.
There are times when I want a "ONE SAMPLE PER CUSTOMER" sign. People wanted to take several HH samples. BUY A BOX!!!!!!!!!!!
There's this family that I recognize from being at this store alot. 3 kids. I always have to make the kids get their parents before they sample. (They should know this by now.

) When I have alot of samples, I don't mind so much if someone takes an extra when no one else is around waiting. Well today, each kid takes a PTS sample. And a few other people. Ok, all gone. Make some more. Meanwhile, the girl is literally standing in front of my table the whole entire time it takes to cook. I know why she's waiting. But I have other people milling around too. If I give her a 2nd one, her 2 brothers will want a 2nd one. I tell her today I can only do 1 sample per customer but she can also have a HH sample. Doesn't want HH. Wants PTS. I tell her sorry, 1 per customer since other people want some too. She leaves for a minute. Comes back & tells me "My Dad said I can have another one.". I said "Well I say you can only have 1. But you are welcome to buy a box of 6 for $1.63"

THE NERVE!!! I was so annoyed after this because my sales sucked. I came to the realization that today I was just the free lunch wagon. (sorry for the vent, it just ticked me off) I was so waiting for the dad to come over & say something to me, but of course he never did, because she probably made it up.
I'm obviously getting old & the younger generation is annoying me. Just like it has happened to every generation before us.

Its that darn entitlement thing. I'm here to sample one so you can decide if you would like to BUY one.
I had other people try to grab several while other people were also waiting. If they could count, they would see there wouldn't be enough for everyone if they took several. Entitlement.
And another grown lady went to grab one off my cutting board while I was icing. STOP!!!!!!!!! "I'm wearing gloves for a reason. If you touch that, I'll need to throw them all away & no one will get any." God, I sounded like a mother!!! She was old enough to be MY mother.
I think I've hit the point like all my other past jobs (banking & insurance) where I'm just SICK of the STUPID public -- not all of them -- just the STUPID ones.

OK, I feel a little better now.
I have to pack to leave for Cape Cod again so I can do another 2 events of handing out pet food coupons to people who don't realize the stuff on my table is pet food & they don't have pets or they are just tourists.

Oh, its "no tax" weekend. I'm sure its going to be BUSY & all I'll be doing is telling people where they moved things too. LOL
